Super fun pub and steps away from your hotel room which is always a bonus. They have a great happy hour so be sure to check those hours out and plan for it.

Really nice old building with several rooms to sit in. Bar area is small but inviting. Lots of varied seating choices. This was easily the best of four pubs we went to during our stay on the peninsula. - Rockfish and fries: best of three 'fish n chips' I tried at various places. - Potato cake topped with smoked salmon, excellent. It's an appetizer so not huge. - Draft beer selection is small but adequate. - Top tier service, friendly, attentive.

The oysters in undisclosed sauces but sorta cute

Caring service. But they don't warn you that the oysters are lost in the batter and the frying oil needs a change. If these were local oysters they were very small and tasteless.

One of my favorite places to eat whenever I'm in town. Service is always great and the food never disappoints.

After going to a restaurant that was closed and one where we needed a reservation, we ended up at Shelburne Pub on a recommendation. The inside and outside is beautiful. This would be a lovely place to dine if a few things changed and improved. First off, we walked in and a lady said hello, but then we just stood there for a minute until she asked us if we had a reservation. I did make one 15 minutes before arriving, but she didn't even ask for my name or anything. Instead she just took us to a table as if it didn't even matter. The service was very slow and at the time there was only one other family dining in. I wasn't sure why it was so slow because there were two ladies working. I didn't get a chance to look at the menu before coming, but it's very eclectic. You will not see most of these items at any old restuarant. I believe they also have a rotating menu, which is cool, but this place is definitely not for picky eaters. I opted for the gnocchi and it had to be the most flavorless meal I've ever eaten. I don't think the chef used any spices or seasonings and for a more expensive dining experience you think it would've been at least decent. My sister got the steak and for $30 she also said it wasn't very good. Lastly, the note on the check was very confusing. We read it multiple times and were dumbfounded. They charge an 18% living wage fee but only 7% of that goes to the waitress? So you still feel obligated to give another tip. Honestly just sounds like a big scam to get more money.. I don't know. Definitely very disappointed because the meal was expensive and they tack on that extra 18% charge.

Ok the first strike was not having any beer on tap darker than a red. How many IPAs do you need? You have a porter beef stew on the menu, but no Porter on tap? Come on. But the big issue is this "Living Wage Charge." 18% on top of the bill, but only 7% goes to the server. (I hope. It technically says 7% of the 18% but I'm HOPING that's a grammatical error.) So the other 11% goes to....the restaurant. Why? To pay their employees a living wage? Uh.... that's what you're SUPPOSED to be doing, without charging me extra for it. Raise your prices if you have to, but don't add this passive aggressive whiny charge. Also worth noting that for some reason they don't have to charge sales tax on this "charge." What's that about? Also, this sort of charge has the effect of lowering tips, since customers feel they're already being forced to tip. But the server is only getting 7%. That's a terrible tip. Shame on this pub for this shoddy business practice. (Second star because my wife said the creme brûlée was excellent. And the atmosphere was nice.)

Delicious drinks! (We tried many that I forgot to take pictures of!)

Stopped in for the "fresh homemade pie" sign on the side of the road…read more My son has been dying for some pie today so I was so excited to support a small business. While I understand being the only person there to serve and what not, a prompt warning that the only flavor of pie was most definitely over a week old, soggy as could be, and full of undercooked, under mixed raw flour would have been human decency. To say this is the last time I will stop here is an understatement. Not to mention they charged me $16.75 for two slices on this paper plate and wrap. Thank you for ruining my 3 year olds excitement with what he described as "the saddest pie ever." Hopefully the food is better, but I won't be giving my money to these folks again. Best of luck

For a moment, I thought I had somehow took a wrong turn and had driven into rural Ireland. I was curious. I knew I had to check it out on our return drive home later in the day. Unfortunately, the hours posted to Yelp and Google were incorrect; either that, or the proprietors had closed early that Sunday night. Either way, they were gracious enough to let us poke about a bit before leaving, and I have to say, we will likely be making a special trip to revisit this place in the near future. The interior is warm, dimly lit, and filled with the heartwarming aroma of wood smoke from the black iron furnace, and Irish stew simmering in the kitchen. Lots of love and personal touches have been included in the interior decor: vintage artwork, framed and loose pictures, posters and newspaper clippings, antiques, tchotchkies, your standard neon bar signs, and hard wood furniture. It looks and feels lived in: a living history museum of the region, which apparently has more history than one would ascertain from driving through this tiny hamlet. Looking forward to knocking back a few drinks and enjoying a hearty meal here someday soon.

Once seated ("I'll seat you here, because the table is the only clean one") in a pub atmosphere that only had 3 tables with patrons in the establishment. It was NOT busy. The toast on the plates were hard yet not overly toasted. The gravy and the potatoes were the best part of all 3 meals. Let me say, the omelet was smaller than the toast in comparison. The waitress abandoned ship and slid off the radar... we had to ask another matey to refill the coffee and he did so very promptly! He was the better part of the experience. We called to see if they were dog friendly, and the gal said, "Yes, for well behaved dogs." Fortunately not a problem. My wife and I and our friends each had to park our RVs a couple blocks away, but no big deal. It was nice to walk in and see the locals belly up to the bar, and all the old decor, and some great beer selections from Fort George among others. Charity poured us some beers and we set up outside under the covered seating area. There's a bar, fire pit and tables out there's. Pretty cool. We ordered different burgers, fries, onion rings, and everything was fantastic. It's not the best I've had but darn good, and perfect for bar food. The best part though was how we ones we felt and how fun and friendly Charity was. Great service takes good to spectacular in my book. Noteworthy, was the amazingly fresh and very cold beer from super clean taps. We went to Fort George the next day and we all agreed the Vortex IPA on tap was better tasting than at the brewery itself. Super impressed! I'm taking my daughter out for a few days today and we're stopping bay the Pitchwood. Great find. Thanks guys!
