I dont know what's happening but every year the quality of this place is getting worse. This used to be the best Arabic restaurant in dearborn, actually I would say in the midwest but everytime I go now there's something wrong. The service was not bad but not what you expect from a good restaurant. The waitress was overwhelmed with the amount of work she had on her hand. No one to greet upon entering, tables were sticky, shawarma which was one of the best items on their menu now just ok, broken and chipped cups, I am not sure what's happening but someone needs to look into the issues at sheeba, as I really dont want this restaurant to fail but the way it is going, it will.

Fahsah and bread

It's hard to find good Yemeni food in the US, but Sheeba's strikes all the right tones. We had the lamb fahsah and lamb haneeth and they were both delectable! The fahsah had plenty of meat and gravy and came out steaming like it should - and the lamb in haneeth was so tender that it was falling right off the bone. The bread accompanying the fahsah was warm and tasty too. Service was friendly. Plenty of seating with clean restrooms. We didn't use it but they seemed to have a private parking area too.

Sunday morning @ 10AM and we were the first customers. This is strictly Yemeni cuisine - no Michigan diner food here. Moataz(?) was our server - rockstar. My Ful Medamas (breakfast, mashed fava bean stew) is excellent. I ordered mine with egg cooked in the stew. It arrived boiling hot in a small crock. It brought back the (few) good memories of Cairo. SWMBO ordered Lamb Gallabah. It was excellent and the portion was generous. Will we return? Yes!

So messy

Originally wanted chicken the kid looked at me and said that'll take 30 min do u really wanna wait that long. So I ordered this sandwich instead. I asked for beef they said the restaurant didn't have any. So I ordered this. I asked them to take it off the bill bc I didn't touch it. That I couldn't. He said sorry you gotta still pay for it. I lost my appetite. Don't waste ur money here. Dearborn Arabic places are so much better.

Every time I visit Michigan I make it a goal to visit Dearborn in order to try a new restaurant. Today I tried Sheeba and I must say it was delicious! I ordered the Fahsah and Lamb soup. Both were amazing! I loved the taste of the lamb with the Yemenese seasonings. So good! The restaurant itself was decorated well and had beautiful decorations. Our waitress was was very nice and attentive. While in the area you must try Sheeba.

All of their hot dishes were so good! This was just one plate

We were in the area for work yesterday and gave this place a try. Wow...they are so friendly and welcoming here! The place was very clean also. We opted for the lunch buffet and enjoyed a little bit of everything. All the dishes were fresh, full of flavor and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area. Thank you guys for great food and service!

I came here with my parents. The food was average I would say. The kebabs were a bit dry. The babaganoush was probably my favorite part of the meal, the bread that comes with it is amazing. The service is very good and the staff is nice. There is plenty of seating and parking.

Family platter for 8

I wasn't too happy with the food. The food had no flavor almost. Their mixed family platter is way way over priced for $200 plus it has no flavor. So flavorless and some kabobs were burnt. Their lamb platter was just a little better but still not worth 200 but more like 60bucks. this one in picture was not good at all. The place is super expensive and food quality is not as good. In conclusion Worst food I ever tried.

Torn between 4 and 5 stars. I guess I'll do 4 but probably would do 4.5. The haneeth lamb and to a lesser extent chicken is amazing!!! It's like melt off the bone amazing. This is the reason I always come back. But the basically everything else that I've tried at least is not that great compared to the Lebanese version: fattoush, bread, rice, garlic sauce. Maybe it's just this restaurant or maybe I just don't like the Yemeni version. The service is friendly.

Baba Ghanouj and Falafel
Albert T.

My first taste of Yemeni food was at this location of Sheeba Restaurant, coincidentally during Dearborn Restaurant Week 2022. The food made such a solid impression that since then, I have visited several other Yemeni restaurants and been to this and the East Dearborn Sheeba several times. During Dearborn Restaurant Week 2024, I decided to revisit Sheeba as my first stop of the week. Surprisingly, the offerings remained exactly the same as in 2022. Somehow, Sheeba has managed to keep prices down through all the inflation in the previous years. We both got the $15 special, which comes with a drink, a choice of three appetizers - Falafel, Baba, or Hummus, and one of two mains - Half Chicken Haneeth or Fahsah. Falafel - This is a mini order of 3 falafel on a bed of greens. The falafel aren't fried all that well; the exterior is mostly dry but barely crisp. The chickpeas are more coarsely ground, resulting in an interior that has a more crumbly (but moist) mouthfeel. They don't mix many herbs in the falafel, so it's missing some of the fresh notes that help balance out the salty/sesame/chickpea flavor. The falafel are supposed to come with tahini and tomato, but we didn't receive either. (3/5) Baba Ghanouj - This is quite a chunky baba with larger pieces of tender eggplant mixed in with pureed chickpeas. They mill the eggplant quite well so there's barely any seeds mixed in. The eggplant has a slight hint of char, but not nearly as much as other places. (4/5) Note: The appetizers come with one piece of rashush which they will charge you $1 extra for. This is not noted on the menu at all. Chicken Haneeth, Half - The chicken is fall off the bone tender with a great char on the exterior and a somewhat smoky flavor. The interior meat is salty and tastes of fresh chicken. The texture is somewhat too tender and renders the chicken a bit sticky, like it kind of sticks to the teeth as you chew. The chicken comes on one side of a mound of yellow rice, which is fluffy and perfectly cooked and seasoned. On the other side rests a number of potatoes cooked in a savory tomato base The potatoes are quite dense but cooked until tender. A container of sahawiq is served on the side that adds a salsa-like bright herbal freshness and a bit of spiciness. (4/5) Fahsah - This is probably my favorite dish at Sheeba - I've always ordered it through my multiple visits. The fahsah is made with shredded lamb mixed with mashed potato with the meat having only the barest hint of lamb gaminess (this location is quite consistent with the flavor, but the one in East Dearborn sometimes tastes very gamey). It's very tender and doesn't get caught in your teeth as you chew. The dish is served in a clay pot, still bubbling when it arrives at the table, and it continues to bubble for quite a while afterwards - I've never succeeded to not to burn my tongue due to impatience. The bubbling action creates a delicious crust along the bottom of the pot that requires a bit of work to scrape up with a spoon. There's a thick layer of oil on top that is red-orange from the spices, but surprisingly the dish doesn't taste that greasy. It's served with one piece of rashush that is fresh baked, with some charred bubbly crispy bits and some chewy bits. The bread is studded with nigella seeds, lending a pleasing earthiness. (5/5) Overall I've found the main entrees to be delicious but the mezze to be only okay to good. Since eating at Sheeba the first time, we've expanded to eating at other traditional Yemeni places and I have to say that Sheeba is definitely a bit more Westernized than those places. Not saying that's bad - Sheeba is still a great stop in Dearborn if you're looking to try something a bit different from all the Lebanese places around. Bathrooms - Men's room has two stalls and two urinals. Women's room has three stalls. Overall rating of the food this visit: 4/5

We ordered the Cedar Feast platter for six, and every dish was outstanding. The meat ghallaba was tender and full of flavor, the lamb chops were juicy and perfectly cooked, and the kabobs and kafta were beautifully seasoned with the perfect char. The wings (soooo good!!!) falafel, fried kibbee, and stuffed grape leaves were all delicious. The hummus was incredibly creamy, the baba ghanoush was wonderfully smoky, and the tabbouli and fattoush were fresh, bright, and flavorful. From the warm, comforting soup to the last bite of the main dishes, everything was absolutely incredible. Truly! The portions- incredible!!! As amazing as the food was, Chelsea made the entire experience even better. She was so warm, friendly, kind, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we arrived. She has such a wonderful personality and made us feel completely at home. She took incredible care of us, made the whole meal fun and enjoyable, and treated us more like friends than customers. She was truly incredible! Chelsea has that rare ability to make people feel comfortable, appreciated, and happy to be there. The food alone would bring us back, but Chelsea turned an incredible dinner into a truly special and memorable experience. Thank you, Chelsea, for making our visit so wonderful. We cannot wait to come back and see you again!

The shawarma plates and chicken sandwiches came out loaded with flavor, and the fresh pita bread arrived warm in a plastic bag. The lentil soup and fattoush salad were hands down the best in the business, and they were complimentary, which immediately won me over. You definitely get your money's worth here. In fact, I needed a personal navigation system just to find my way through the mountain of rice on my plate. The service was top-notch--fast, friendly, and attentive. The staff moved with the kind of speed that makes you wonder if they secretly have rocket boosters attached to their shoes. The only thing keeping this from a 5-star rating is the decor. The interior feels like it hasn't been updated since the mid-90s, and the vibes are strictly retro in a way that wasn't intentional. If they give the dining area a quick facelift to match the quality of the kitchen, this place becomes an absolute 10 out of 10. Solid 4 stars. Great food, great people, and I will definitely be back with my appetite ready!

The veggies were Radish, cucumber and tomatoes. It's not bad, dressing is different than expected. Their big pita bread is fresh and good, soft and billowy too. The hummus, pita and fattoush was out first. The hummus is smooth and tasty. The foul or stewed beans not too bad. It's a tad bland and was just warm, not hot. The half chicken is dry rubbed and you can smell it, it's quite nice. The meat is tender and not dry. Tastes good with the salsa dip. The side salad is the Iraqi salad with pieces of lemon in it, rind and all. Takes some getting used to eating it. The quzi lamb meat was tender, but fatty, but not dry at all. The cheese borag is literally a mozzarella stick inside of a spring roll wrapper. It's good. Some tomato based dip would make it better or something with it.

It took roughly 15 minutes before anyone took our order, and over 45 minutes after that for our food to arrive. We ordered simple breakfast/brunch items, nothing complex. Throughout the visit, no one checked on us, and even requesting the check took an unusually long time. I came specifically to support an Iraqi-owned business and enjoy Iraqi food, which made this experience especially disappointing. The space itself felt sticky and had a slight odor, which detracted from the otherwise well-designed interior. These issues are fixable with more attentive service, regular check-ins with guests, and better upkeep of the space (for example, more frequent wipe-downs and subtle scent control). I still tipped the staff 20%, but overall this experience was disappointing. A lot of effort has clearly gone into the decor and live music, and that same level of care should be extended to service and operations.
