Just had lunch here today and WOW! I have never had chicken schwarma before but I am totally a fan now! They had this amazing garlic paste that my fiancé described as an "explosion of flavor" in his mouth. I was around Worcester and was looking for a middle eastern restaurant. I found this place through Yelp because they seemed to have attractive ratings. I ordered chicken shawarma sandwich, falafel, and falafel sandwich. Everything on an okay level. No big deal. At least their falafel is not that tangy compared to other middle eastern restaurants I've been to in Providence. Service was good!! This is my favorite lunch spot around Worcester. I usually go at least once a week. It can get pretty crowded around noon and there are only a handful of tables inside, so I would recommend getting there a little early for lunch. Food is AMAZING, they even made boring lettuce all the worthwhile and tasty. Meat was so tender (how did you do it?) and as someone who interned in Manhattan and ate food based upon yelp reviews, I disagree with the other guy who said he had better food in Manhattan. Stopped in based on the yelp reviews and got a beef shawrma wrap. It was very good, although a bit salty (had to drink like 4 glasses of water the next couple hours). Also got a veggie pie- the flatbread is heaven. Took home a piece of baklava which I think was the best I've ever had. I'd go back just for that if I'm in the hood! Such a delicious experience! I highly recommend making the visit on a Thursday, when they offer lamb shawarma. The owner was so pleasant, allowing us to taste the lamb before confirming our order. The only thing that surpasses the quality, quantity and value of the food here is the charismatic and welcoming owner. Had no idea where to eat in Worcester, the Shawarma Palace popped up with a solid 5 stars overs 240+ reviews. We showed up soon after 10am just after the opened, the owner greeted us and apologized that the chicken would take another 10 mins. While we waited he brought over a bowl of baba and fresh pita, some of the best baba we've ever had, made fresh that morning. I had a mixed shawarma plate, chicken and beef and my girlfriend had a beef plate. I would happily drive from Warwick back to Worcester just to eat at this place, the meats were so perfectly seasoned and tender, the hummus was great and the garlic condiment was fantastic added to the meat, strong though. Both the rice and lentil dish were very flavorful, and the salad was fresh. The owner took time to sit and chat with us and fill us in on the beginnings of his business. We love small hole in the wall type places and this is a gem, outstanding experience all around, absolutely doesn't need my review, but just had to leave one as soon as we left. read more
