I will go back when I make a trip to my brothers and buy him some of this delicious food. The pilaf reminds me of my aunts who made the best pilaf in our family, and we have not been able to duplicate her pilaf but Lil M's has done it. Their recipe is so yummy. All the food was delish! What a lovely shop! Warm and hospitable service and terrific food. My husband's wrap was incredible (I think it was kibbe?) and I got a bunch of things to try. My favorites were the babaganoush and tabbouli, which tasted like it had been made mere minutes ago- crunchy fresh parsley and zingy seasoning that was not at all soggy- such a treat! I have been going here for almost 20 years now. And I wonder why I haven't reviewed this before. First of all and most important of all I love that the owner greets me with a smile, a hello and asks me how I am doing. And not just lip service. He genuinely asks how I am doing. Next on the food. I have tried the chicken shawarma here for 20 years and it is the best and it hasn't changed. The owner makes it with pride and love. I don't even freakin' know what's in the chicken shwarma sandwich (wrap) I just ate. Chicken, greek dressing?, lettuce, tomato, onions, tabule?, mint? is that mint?, super soft delicious pita, what's got the slight bite? I don't even know! I'll tell you this, I am putting off my after lunch brush/floss ritual because this leftover flavor in my mouth is just too good. No, seriously, I called everyone in my office who got the same sandwich as me and I was like... Friendly and fresh food. Always get a smile and kind welcome when I arrive. Very accommodating to me and my onion and pepper aversion. Excellent hummus and falafel. I've sampled nearly everything on the menu and every single item they offer is fantastic. Just the freshest, highest quality, incredibly delicious middle eastern food I've had in a long time. Oh. My. God. This place is absolutely fantastically amazing. I found them here on yelp and decided to try them. It is a cute little establishment half store half food. They have a wonderful selection of spices, teas, coffees and other wonderful ethnic items. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Shwarma sandwich, with Tabbouleh salad. When I got up to the register after perusing their wares the lady said they were on Facebook and I said do found them on yelp. She was so happy. Those two were super nice to me. She gave me a small sample canister of their fava bean salad. Which I had never tried. Now I get back to the office and the first bite was heaven. Literally. The sandwich was perfect, meat tender, just the right amount of kick and perfect flavor. The Tabbouleh was fresh and lovely. And for trying the fava bean salad for the first time. LOVE their hummus and their greasy, crispy and flavorful pita chips. Food is good, nice little spot. A bit chaotic, but it is friendly and they have a nice selection of good middle eastern treats to choose from: stuffed grape leaves, chicken salad, falafel, hummus, tzatziki, olives galore, rice... simple, clean, fresh and served with a smile and good vibes. This review is solely regarding their lunch items. I haven't been hear in a long time and went back this week. I was really excited and actually might have been too excited. I wanted to like my wrap more than I actually did. I got the falafel wrap which was syrian bread filled with falafel, their special salad, and hummus. Overall I found the experience overwhelmed by citrus. I wanted to taste the warm and comforting flavors of the falafel more than I could. It seemed to be overpowered. However I'm still curious to go back and try the other items. The owner is as a nice and cheerful as can be. Great little spot in Northborough! A few people had mentioned the falafel, so I had to try it out for myself. It's actually a market where you cna buy Middle Eastern specialties and food. They also have a deli counter where they sell olives, some salads, and can make sandwiches. The falafel was hands down the best I've ever had and had a nice spicy kick to it. Best Middle Eastern food I've ever had! The owners are the sweetest people and the food is amazing.

Had never particularly been fond of tabouleh...until I came across Lil M's Mart - it was love upon first bite. Super fresh parsley, light and fluffy bulgur, perfect level of lemon-y acidity, not at all soggy. The other items I've tried from the cold deli were for the most part quite good, notably the fava bean salad and chicken shawarma. For a very reasonable $8-9, you can get a heaping combo plate (or to-go box) of your choice of 4 items from the deli. As for the less-than-good, the falafel was rather disappointing in both flavor and texture, as was the pita in which it was served (cold, not hot and crispy as I prefer). Also, their version of kibbeh seems to be just ground beef, swimming in oil and extremely salty. Besides the deli/cafe, the shop contains a sizeable selection of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern products (many imported from abroad) that you probably wouldn't find at typical grocery stores/supermarkets. read more

Light me up that shwarma was HOT!!! Reading through my comments, you can tell that I'm extremely partial to little hole-in-the-wall hidden jewels. This place qualifies. I went here per the recommendation of my barber. I got a spicey Shwarma sandwich and we got combo platter for the family to pick at. The platter had falafels, shwarma, tabouli, and beef kabobs. I admit that this place was certainly not what I expected. The items were ethnic Middle Eastern, as was the artwork and offerings. The deli counter kind of struck me as a little corner shop like those I used to see in town all the time. The prices were good and the portions were definitely wonderful. The owner (I think) was an older gentleman who, as many others pointed out, is extremely friendly and nice to talk to. We took our food to go and headed home. Everything was beyond words delicious. When that man says spicy, he means spicy, but in a good way. There have been foods I've had in the past that were so hot that they had no flavor, but this was the right amount of hot to light up my mouth, but give me a ton of flavor. ... I'm honestly going back there again soon. That shwarma was too good. My sons, who are usually extremely picky ate everything down, much to my surprise. In short, I really loved this place.
