This place isn't much to look at, basically just a convenience store with some tables. The guy who I assume is the owner is super friendly. I got the falafel and asked for it spicy. My biggest complaint with falafel usually is that they didn't put enough sauce on it. Not the case here, and it was actually spicy! The falafel itself wasn't super flavorful (and reheated in a microwave), but the sauce and overall sandwich flavor covered that up pretty well. Maybe 3.5 stars? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I couldn't believe this place is averaging 4 1/2 stars in Yelp for the following reasons: 1) The eating area was very dirty with tablecloths that have not been washed or replaced in several years. 2) My chicken kebab sandwich used cold shredded chicken mixed with wilted lettuce and hummus. 3) When looking behind the serving line where the food was prepared I had real health concerns. I ended up throwing half of my sandwich away in hopes I don't get sick from what I did eat. The food was prepared on a old worn out counter top that did not look sanitary. The only thing safe to order is the bottled water! However, the owner was nice which took my rating up by one star to two. read more

This is a great store run by nice folks who stock lots of items that'd be hard to find in a regular supermarket, and tons of fresh made food that is all great! If you're vegan or vegetarian there are a lot of options for you, including soups, bean salads, and falafel. This place almost made me sick. As we walked in and ordered the first thing I noticed was how unsanitary the place was. The tablecloths looked like they haven't been washed since they got them, behind the counter where the food was prepared was dirty, and the whole place was crowded with various objects, I don't want to know how much dust has collected over the years!! I ordered a chicken kabob sand which. It was disgusting. The sand which came out soggy. The chicken in the sandwich was shredded and was not what I expected with ordering a "chicken kabob sandwich". Everyone in our family lives the fresh and delicious Middle Eastern food at Lil M's. Whether you eat there or take out, you will love the wrap sandsiches, salads and specialty dishes. I personally love the felafel sandwiches, carefully prepared to your taste. Our daughter loves the bean sald, while my wife's favorite is the tabbouleh and grape leaves. Amazing food in a surprising place. Great quality/taste and value.

After reading all the yelp reviews, I thought why not check this place out. When I entered the store, the first impression was really? Is this the place which everyone is raving about. Anyway I thought now that I am here lets order the food. So I got chiecken shawrma, hummus, tabouli and some other stuff which I cant even pronounce or spell but it had chickpeas in it. The food way unbelievavble, really really tasty everything was extremely flavorful my whole family loved the food. They also have some interesting Egyptian paintings (hand made) which I am planning to get next time when I visit. All in all 5 star and this place really is a hidden gem, they just came on the list of Zabihah which is sad as these folks have been around for 20 years. For those of you who are wondering if they are halal or not, answer is they do serve halal food. read more

My first time here - I LOVE Middle Eastern food and was thrilled to find this place. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich and it was totally different from others I've had, it reminded me more of a fatoush salad in a wrap with cold chicken... it was delicious, just different from what I expected (most of the others I've had are hot chicken with hummus and feta cheese). The reviews are correct about this hidden gem! Yes, the chicken shawarma is amazing! The seasoning is perfect! I enjoyed it so much that I went back the next day and had it again! My one year old loved the hummus and she couldn't get enough of the lentil soup. My vegetarian husband had the falafel and said that it was really good! The prices are reasonable too! The owner is a sweetie pie and really made us feel like valued customers. We will be back! One note, the place isn't very pretty-- kind of old but don't let that stop you. It is a small family owned place however i disnot have the best experience. I went in craving for falafels. They just sell falafels with no sauce (they don't have any hot sauce). Tbe falafels itself were cold , slightly greasy and had no herbs what so ever. The owner was pretty rude that I didnot purchase hummus to eat with the falafel. Lil M's is by far one of my favorite lunch spots! I try to come here at least once a week. Lil M and his wife are welcoming, friendly and always have delicious, fresh food prepared! The food is freshly made and their falafels are soft! What more could you ask for? We've tried lots of falafels all over the country and it's so exciting to find some of the bext ones in our own backyard. Aside from their falafels, we also love their lentil soup, chicken shawarma wraps, and bean salad - we go at least once a month if not more frequently. We've catered from them before as well and had two large trays of falafels and a large order of the bean salad - the falafels were warm when we got them and still soft/moist - delicious!! We ate the bean salad for days afterwards (since we got so much!) and it was just as delicious several days later as when it was freshly made! The owners are also wonderful people who know us by name now and always ask us how our family is doing. Overall, we definitely recommend this place to others, so if you haven't checked it out yet, definitely do so! read more

I can't say enough good things about Lil M's. My friend told me about it and we started meeting here for lunch about once a week. The owners are extremely friendly and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. I'm a big fan of Middle Eastern food and have eaten at many different places around the area, and I can say with confidence that Lil M's is one of the best places around. I'd typically get a variety plate with all different things and was never disappointed. I'm a big fan of the kofta, bean salad, hummus, tabouleh, and baba ganoush. It's more of a takeout place than a sit down restaurant but my friend and I would sit down and eat and the owners were always so kind and attentive. Unfortunately I relocated at work and haven't been able to go in as often, but I continue to hold those Lil M's lunch trips close to my heart. Every so often we order lunch from Lil M's on Fridays from work. It's always fresh and delicious. My family has been going there for nearly 20 years and I introduced my work friends to the place. Today orders varied from falafel wraps to shawarma plates along with an order of taboule salad. All the greens were fresh and bursting with lemon flavor. The shawarma is well seasoned chicken with fresh parsley, onions and authentic seasoning. It also comes with rice and salad. Falafels were well prepared with hummus and salad. The taboule was perfect and fresh. Don't let the bad reviews scare you away. This place is the real deal, not only is the food good the owners are friendly and very helpful. read more

So good. Hummus, babaganoush, tabbouleh - all delish and so fresh. I'm a big fan of middle Eastern food and this did not disappoint. Also came home with some zaatar seasoning, walnut cookies, plenty of Syrian bread and feta (little sharper/saltier than I prefer but fetas vary widely so that's just personal taste). A great little neighborhood Middle East deli/market. The owner is so friendly and nice. I have been there in the past for their outstanding lentil soup but today tried the luncheon special which you can pick 4 items from their deli selection for $7.99! There is enough in there for two meals Their chicken shwarma is so good and I love it with a bit more spice (you have the choice). Seating is inside and outside so not just a regular take out place.
