The donairs are of decent size, the toppings and the pork was nice. Pork was tender and flavorful. Overall no complaint especially with BOGO. The fries was alright, by the time it arrived it already softened. And I didn't like the pulled pork, it's not saucy or tangy. It's kinda bland and dry. However the pea meal bacon and the bacon were alright. The portion is a tiny bit small for $10 (compared to let say a philty Phil's) but because of the cheese and all the meat you can't eat much of it anyway. The garlic aioli on the side doesn't have much garlic flavor, more like regular mayo. Overall, reasonable food and price.

The kebab & rice were decent - there're better Persian options out there (though maybe not in Aurora). Also got sabzipolo ba mahi, a special dish for Nowruz (Persian new year). The fish was pretty tasty with a nice lemon taste, but the herbal taste of the rice was a bit acquired. Also got tasting portions of Khoresh Gheymeh (red beef & split pea stew) and khoresh ghormeh sabzi (green beef & herb stew). Both were excellent. Both tasted quite different - the latter had a pronounced herb taste & the former was more conventional. Barberry rice with chicken was ok. The rice was their normal rice with a sour red berry on top. The chicken was rather plain. There was no red sauce unlike in the menu picture.

Tips: - The blueberry flame chicken shawarma was stellar…read more - The baklava had a lot of moisture and the flakiness was missing in most of the baklava pieces that I had, mainly because it was with my hot shawarma wrap. - Earn points by signing up for Tahini's rewards program. Despite frequenting a few Tahini's locations for the past couple of years or so, I still feel like a newbie. There are so many locations that I haven't been to. Last Saturday, I was in Aurora, shopping at Best Buy. After I was done shopping, I did a search for restaurants nearby to fetch dinner and found this Tahini's. It's next door to Gong Cha that I tend to visit whenever I'm in town. I placed an order through the Tahini's app with these items: - Blueberry flame chicken shawarma wrap - Baklava I paid and earned points. Easy peasy! My friend, Jennifer, recommended the blueberry flame chicken shawarma wrap a while back. I have had it before and loved it so much that I tend to get it whenever I see it on the menu. It's the recommendation that keeps on giving! I have never had baklava from Tahini's. It was time to give it a try. I got an estimated time of twenty minutes for my order to be ready. I drove across the street to the plaza and parked near both Tahini's and Gong Cha. There's always plenty of parking here. I ended up getting bubble tea next door at Gong Cha and desserts at M&M Food Market two doors down from Gong Cha. I put everything in my car and headed to Tahini's. There were a couple of customers at a table, chowing down. I headed to the pickup counter and had a nice man help me. I let him know that I had an order under my name. It was ready and in a dark grey plastic bag. He handed it over to me. I thanked him, took a few photos, and happily left with my dinner. I put my food in an insulated bag and drove home. Once I was settled at home, I had dinner. My shawarma wrap was still warm. I found it to be filling and the best blueberry flame chicken shawarma wrap that I have ever had anywhere. It's probably because this place was generous with the blueberry sauce. As a fruit enthusiast, it made my day. It had the perfect balance of sweetness with a bit of a spice kick from the habanero. The chicken shawarma was tender and yummy. I loved the pickles, garlic, and parsley all in a nicely grilled wrap. The box containing my wrap had a contest happening. I unwrapped the box and ended up with 10% off my next order. Sweet! My baklava came in six different pieces. My guess is that the heat from my shawarma transferred over to the baklava. Most of the pieces ended up being more soggy than flaky. Note to self: If I have hot food with my baklava, separate the baklava so it doesn't act as a sponge, absorbing moisture from the hot food. The baklava square with chocolate on top ended up sticking to the container lid. The flavours were yummy. The lone square that wasn't soggy was what the other squares should have been. The pastry was flaky and a much more enjoyable eating experience. I'd return to this location, simply because it was generous with everything in this wrap. I just need to get my baklava away from any heat source. (392)
