My girlfriend and I really wanted to go to this restaurant. We entered and was greeted right away. Very friendly man. Place looked amazing walking in! He took our drink order and brought us over our drinks (canned Coke). As we were looking over the menu, drooling at what was going to be a great meal, we noticed uninvited guests scurrying down the wall from the ceiling. Then accross the floor toward an open table. Of course we immediately decided to not stay. We told the man who was bringing us over a plate of hummus and pita. We just told him we needed to go, no explanation, but he could tell we went from excitement to let's just get out of here. He charged us for the sodas (2 cans $5). She was as mentioned in all the other comments welcoming and nice at first and after I told her you are over charing me and this is not the price on the menu she flipped, started yelling and telling me that I asulted her and then she treaten to call the cops, I told her please go ahead and call the cops because i had witnesses and in no way I asulted her. Right after that her business partner gave me 10$ and asked me to leave further more she accused me and my race and told me "I know you people are always like this get out of my restaurant and never come back." Stepped in out of the rain. Hungry. Weary. Robert greeted us, firmed up quickly on our ask: dinner. We were seated by the window, with little time to watch the world pass by: hot, fresh baked pita was on hand. Delicious. A generally quiet ambiance for what you might expect on a busy corner of Yonge and Wellington in Aurora, we chatted quietly and awaited said "dinner" - again delicious and filling. Business visit at Richmond Hills for few days, and I look around for Persian food and I came across this place. I trust Yelp reviews. I was with few colleague from seminar, and I brag about Persian food whole time during seminar. It was four of us and I ordered Mediterranean Salad which includes Romain lettuces (looked old), tabooli, black olives, Hummus, Red Onions, tomatoes, Feta cheese balsamic dressing and also I had Falafel ( solid rock) wrapped in home made Naan (Lafa) and topped with fresh toppings. Food was bad, and also one of my colleague ordered Beef Koobideh Kaboab from menu and when he was paying for it he realized he was charged more and when I asked the guy behind register he gave me long story of renovation, new price, and been short handed. Kebaba recently underwent a huge renovation and as a result have put their prices up for eating in. I'm not sure if its also reflective of their takeout menu. I'm not super happy about the surcharge given they are one of the more pricier kebab places to begin with but at the same time their kebabs are incredible. I think they make the bread in house as I haven't found anything like it anywhere else. Their lentil soup is also amazeballs. They give it as a complimentary taster when you're eating in. So the food is absolutely delicious. Parking is available behind the building and you have to walk up to the front which is not ideal BUT it's definitely worth the stop, park, walk. So removed a star for the price.. but would otherwise be 5 stars from me for the actual food. read more

Renovations were completed for 2 months before I got a chance to try. Appears to be under new ownership as well. The food is definitely head and shoulders above what it used to be. The place has nice decor, very homey and relaxing atmosphere. In terms of price, it is around $5 more on average per plate than most Persian places I've visited. Compares to kababsara which is just down the street, the flavors of kebab and chicken I ordered were less intense and likely less salt. This isn't to say it's bad, as if isn't. It's really good if you want ot taste the flavor of the ground beef and chicken a bit more as opposed to herbs and spices. It trades away the salad I could get at kababsara with more rice. The rice was fluffy and had quite good texture and aroma. Overall the place is a rock solid 4 out of 5, mainly due to the higher price compared to other similar restaurants. This could be because it is in a busy interaction with building sold to new owners just a year ago. Would I go again and should you give it a try? While it's a nice atmosphere, i always value quality and quantity of food more than decor. I would go if I wanted a nicer sit down place with friends or going on a date. Otherwise, there is better value to be found elsewhere. read more

I found this place on Yelp and stopped in with a friend. We tried the beef and the chicken platters and split them. One of the beefs, I think it was the sirloin, had great flavour! The chicken and other beef was very good too but the showstopper was the sirloin. Also, their lentil soup is the best I've ever had. For 5 stars I would have liked some kind of sauce/yogurt/sour cream to accompany the plate but the dish did have terrific flavour. INCREDIBLE. I'm super happy I found this and I'm super happy with my meal.... so filling !! My bf and I got 2 flaffel sandwhiches , one meal & one chicken sandwhiches. And it came out to $46( kinda pricy) than the owner gave us samples of the soup ( WHICH WAS AMAZING ) so I decided to buy it and he gave it to me for free because I was waiting. He was super nice ! Family owned which I loved. Amazing food and the rice IS SEASONED SO WELL I DONT KNOW HOW the only down fall is the price. So happy i found this little gem in aurora, usually i have to go down to North York for some good quality take out Persian food! Lovely service as soon as you walk in. And the food is made fresh to order! The owner gave me and my friend a sample of their delicious lentil soup, i would have definitely gotten it if we hadn't order so much food. Nice quaint resturaunt, veryy clean and the Persian music in the background was lovely. Delicious food + good service = good time. Went in hoping to get great kebabs. Got conned into getting a lamb, steak, chmeal for 2 people. The lamb was one large bone with very little meat on it. Even though I told her I wanted a lamb kabab. The steak were a few pieces cut up, the Chicken were a few pieces cut up and put together with the steak pieces. We truly felt ripped off. The meal cost $70.00. We visited Toronto on Dec 1st and looking for an Iranian restaurant in Newmarket and Aurora. We were searching on the internet and found this place. We welcomed warmly by the staff and served with a hot and lentil soup which was tasty and delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and cozy and I like the idea of posting the Iranian famous people on the wall. Our order prepared in a short time and the service was great. The waitress was very friendly and care about customers. fineThe taste of the food was fine and the portion size was large, however, my friend prefers a little bit less salt in Kebab (kobideh). I ordered the chicken kebab and the taste was not pleasant to me. The last point, it is a little bit pricey. Overall it is fine and we recommend to try it. read more

I have eaten there a number of times and tried several dishes. Some are good and some could be improved upon. Of the dishes I have tried, the chicken parmesan came with two pieces of chicken. It was cut very thin and super dry. I would have preferred one piece cooked properly. There was no type of sauce with it either which would have helped.....just two pieces of chicken and the fries I had requested. I saw that another reviewer said his came with a grilled tomato. Not mine. There was a similar problem with the lamb shank. It came only with an enormous pile of rice. While the plain long grain rice was cooked perfectly, there was no sauce/broth or anything else with the lamb shank so the rice was very hard to get through. The lamb shank itself was tender but a bit bland. I would suggest a smaller mound of rice and maybe a bit of salad or sauce to pour on top. The mediteranean salad is different and quite good with pickled vegetables on top. However it is a very small appetizer size and 8.95. I saw that another reviewer said it came with hummus. Mine didn't either time I ordered it. The second time it didn't have feta on it either. It wouldn't cost them much to make it 25% larger. Some ladies like to order just a salad for lunch but you can't do that there as you would be very hungry when you left and there is no other salad option on the menu. The chicken kabob 9.95, is good though some might say it was skinny compared to other places. However other places probably have fillers so maybe that accounts for the difference. The owner cares about his customers' experience and I would like to see him do well if only because he is trying hard. The renovation has made it into a cozy little nook and the atmosphere is hospitable. Overall though I would say it is close to 20% overpriced and the food is very mild compared to what I would have expected of a middle eastern dish. I think they could up their spices. If they need to charge these prices to stay afloat and pay for the reno, then they should add a few touches so their customers feel it is worth it. None of these things would cost the restaurant much to provide. Some sauces to go with the huge plates of rice would be a nice addition. A bit of salad on another plate and something to go on the parmesan chicken. None of the dishes I have ordered looked remotely like the ones on their Facebook page. Those ones were beautifully decorated whereas everything I have ordered looked very basic and like they were cutting corners. I took some friends there for dinner and I was honestly embarrassed by what was served/presented. I am not middle eastern but am wondering if possibly their custom is to order a bunch of different dishes and share whereas most Canadians expect a dish to have a finished look on the plate with all the appropriate accompaniments as opposed to just a piece of meat and pile of plain rice. If you are ordering takeout, call ahead as there can be a bit of a wait otherwise. Hopefully the owner will consider these suggestions and I wish him well in this venture. I am giving it four stars because the place has definite potential and maybe they are just inconsistent as some other diners have given high ratings. First off I should say the staff at this place are very friendly and nice, and the restaurant was clean, and the lentil soup was good, but this is where the compliments end. The food that I ordered, I can honestly say, was some of the most mediocre and most expensive takeout I have received. All of the meat was bland, tasted like it had come from a freezer and was bordering on under cooked in the case of the chicken. And for our party of four, this cost us $80 or so, for basically some kebab meat and rice. I would recommend staying away from here, unless they have really put some work in since I was there a few months ago. read more
