This was my first time visiting Laymoon. I was shocked at how busy it was on a Saturday night at 10pm. There were lots of people celebrating birthdays and out to enjoy their night. It was definitely a fun atmosphere and everyone seemed to really be enjoying themselves. Soccer was on the tv and there was music playing. Despite it being very busy, we got a table straight away. If you have a big party, I would definitely suggest to make a reservation. They do not serve alcohol here. We ordered the "lady killer" flavoured hookah (can they rename this? lol...) . We sat waiting with an empty hookah for at least 20 minutes until someone came by and brought us the flavoured tobacco cubes. (I have no clue what they're actually called, sorry *shrug*). They seemed to have forgotten our table. We then ordered the chicken shawarma and the trio dip. Neither were bad, but neither really wowed me. I couldn't decide which dip I liked the most because none of them really inspired me. The shawarma was flat and didn't have much filling. I don't know if this is what traditional Lebanese shawarma is meant to be like, but I wasn't really a fan. The side of fries were good enough, and only $3 to add to the side of the shawarma. The fries really saved the meal to be honest! This place is definitely unique for the area!

This restaurant is good , great size for parties and events. The staff are very friendly and the portion sizes are generous !! I highly would recommend the beef shawarma plate !! Make sure you ask for some extra sauce if you order this dish, the meat is flavourful but the sauce gives it an extra kick!

The vap was nice, the foods are authentic & the service excellent, will definitely return.

It's my birthday and I decided that, rather than a cake, what I really wanted is a box of baklava. If you haven't already visited a Kanafa's location, this place offers joy and variety in every bite! Their signature middle eastern pastry, kanafa, is beautifully prepared and best served warm, so that you can enjoy the stretchy, nabulsi cheese based interior. Aside from kanafa, they offer a tempting array of baklavas and pastries, and it was this that I visited today. Since my absence, Kanafa's has added some newer, innovative choices to the baklava selection. In addition to the more typical walnut, pistachio or cashew baklava's, Kanafa's offers a Nutella baklava, and a Biscoff baklava. My daughter loves nutella, and we all love Biscoff (Lotus) cookies, so we picked up a few pieces of each to add to our box of 8 baklava. The portions are generous, and I usually cut them in half if I'm serving this as a finger-food type dessert. The price is right too: a box of 8 cost $21 - cheaper than a grocery store birthday cake! Kunafa's baklava are so generously filled with nutty stuffing, that I doubt you could buy that quantity of nuts alone for $21. Kanafa's is located in a strip mall opposite Costco in Ajax. Parking is rarely a problem in this spacious lot! Staff is friendly, helpful, and willing to make recommendations and suggestions for your order. For me, my box of Kanafa's baklava is as decadent and pleasurable as a birthday cake, with more variety in the box!

We also tried the coconut cake and Dubai chocolate brownie, and both were rich, fresh, and delicious. The ambience is simple and more of take away sort. There are several other options as well and it has an open kitchen kind of setting where you can see fresh produce. Service was quick and friendly, even during busy hours.

I wish I had a photo of our spread as they were so nicely prepared. The staff were very kind and made some recommendations from the menu and I browsed the nicely laid out store with shelves full of exotic ingredients I vowed to return to try. The sandwiches were tasty; all toppings were freshly prepared and the variety of traditional Lebanese ingredients and sauces in the two vegetarian sandwiches were so perfect together. We especially loved the fried cauliflower, eggplant and arugula combination in the Veg Cut. Beirut Garden was also scrumptious with mouthwatering halloumi with mint chutney on a soft Schiachiatta bread. The smoked salmon was also prepared on the same bread, as their bagel delivery hadn't arrived yet but this was also very good with lots of capers and red onions. The cold cut platter was well put together and the clients loved the beetroot hummus as well. I can't wait to return to try their hot food take out and all the amazing coffees I saw!

Very lovely staff. Took my little one for a workshop, and while that was going on, I ordered lunch. Chicken shawarma was delicious, though a tad salty for my preference, flavour was undeniably delicious. The chicken portion was huge. My husband ate a late breakfast and wasn't too hungry, so he only got a falafel order. It was super crispy and nice, mild flavour. Many other falafel I've tried had an overwhelming spice that made it too strong for my preference, but this was delicious. There were some other workshop participants' parents that were mildly irritating, even to me, as a fellow peer (parent of child in the workshop), but the staff powered through and served them with courtesy and professionalism. The workshop was gingerbread cookie decorating and was a fun experience, however the children were getting a bit bored while the dough was chilling for 10 minutes. It included a kids meal of a main, fries, and drink. My little one got the chicken nuggets, she loved it and ate every piece. The only thing that is slightly inconvenient is after browsing the food section, you need to go back to the front to pay at the cashier, and then return to the food station to tell them the order. Not sure if they can try a different method, but aside from that, excellent people, and excellent food!
