I'm happy to see a new kebab shop in Pickering! My husband and I have been here a couple of times now and have tried the barg, chicken breast, shish and tandoori kebabs. The meat was tender and flavourful but of the four, the tandoori and shish kebabs are definitely the winners for me. The redesign of this space is inviting and comfortable to be in. The service is quick and friendly making this restaurant a great place to enjoy a meal. I look forward to working my way through their menu and supporting this new restaurant in our community. I wish them much success!

A bit expensive for the type of food and amount of meat you get versus everything else. We got sooooo much rice that by the time we finished the meat there was still like a full box of rice left! The naan bread is fluffy. Samosas are nice and bite sized made from fluffy puff pastry. Meat were seasoned well and not dry. The tandoori is super popular here but the other meats are good too!! It's nice to have a good mix of the meat so the meal doesn't get tiring to eat. Comes with good side sauces and salad.

Tried this restaurant for the first time for dinner. I had the kabob dinner with beef, naan, rice and salad. Beef was your standard one skewer and there was way more rice than you needed. As far as taste it was pretty good, I would definitely go back as it was pricey at 15.00

First off - lovely interior. Very clean - not a huge area, but has good sitting and private room. Tried out variety of dishes - pretty much their whole menu Great flavors, their Mantoo is one of the better ones from most places I've had...I usually don't like Mantoo, but it was good here. The lamb shank with rice was amazing. Amazingly tender lamb (like butter!) Tandoori chicken on Fries was ridiculously good! The combination is awesome? - def ask them to sauce it up! Salmon is like...salmon! (I'm not a huge fish person! Lol) The tandoori chicken pizza was good as well! The portion is great!

Came here with my friend for a post workout meal and this seemed to be the healthiest option around, and I'm really glad I stopped by! I really loved the atmosphere and decor had a carry homelike and cozy feel to it. I ordered a tandoori chicken wrap and it was blessed. The wrap came together perfectly and the meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I will defiantly be back to try some of the other dishes, I would highly recommend this place

Came here to try out their food. I had the falafel with fries while my niece had the beef shish kabob. Food was tasty and I like that you can get the main courses without rice (just salads and naan) for a cheaper price. The fries was a little too salty for my liking. Place is nice and clean. Love how they mix modern pieces with their cultural pieces. I would come back here to try out the rest of the menu.

Great, tasty food - korma and mantoo

This place is a wonderful addition to the area. It is clean, with friendly staff and with great tasting food. My recommendations are: mantoo - a tasty steam dumpling filled with ground beef and drizzled with light fresh yogurt; bolanee - a roti filled with tasty potato; mains - tandoori chicken kebab, or shish kebab. I find the tandoori chicken has great flavour and so moist. They offer beef korma - although it's not on the menu and the chicken breast kebab will not disappoint either. The naan is typical Afghani naan and is a great side if you pick the korma. Very nice host who offers suggestions for the undecided. I plan on trying all dishes! For mains- definitely tandoori chicken kebab :)

Amazzzzzzingggggggg food!! Great service! Their muntoon were so good I would defiantly go back!!

It gave us the opportunity to try a new place... which is actually closer to home. Our first time here, we picked up a takeaway. The presentation wasn't much to look at but based on the taste, I knew I would be back. We ordered Chicken Breast Kebab, Barg Kebab and Herati Kebab, all from their Keto menu. The next time we dined in. If you want to get your money's worth, this is definitely the way to go. (I don't know if it was a one-off but we got half the food when we ordered the takeaway.) This time we ordered Sardari Kebab and the Lamb Chops. We also ordered the Lamb Shank with the Kabuli rice to take home for dinner. Their lamb is really tender and flavourful. The lamb shank was a little fatty but that what you get sometimes with lamb shank. The Kabuli rice is phenomenal and will be included in every order going forward! Oh, and their naan is really good too. Today I found myself there yet again. Continuing to work my way through their menu, I opted for their Beef Kofta Kebab and my friend ordered their Chicken Breast Kebab. We both had the Kabuli rice. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is spacious and nicely structured for a good flow. The staff are very pleasant and there's just an overall great vibe here. I'm glad we found this place and I imagine I will find myself here often.

Clearly, we made an excellent choice, because my entire family was so pleased when they dug into their meals! We ordered online and, like mostly everything else that I've ordered on line, it would likely be better if I ate in-house or even picked up my order. However, it was, nonetheless, excellent, satisfying, flavourful food. Here's why its worth 4 stars: My husband ordered a 2 falafel combo, and reported that it was done perfectly. The falafel balls were plump, crispy and tender, and the sauces that he ordered complemented the wrap perfectly! Next time, he said, he will order turnip. The turnip wasn't listed as pickled, but actually it is, and it really enhances the foods. My son said that his chicken shawarma was "one of the best that I"ve had in Pickering." However, he mentioned that he would have preferred the pita to be more robustly toasted. This, however, could have been a result of the wait for delivery. My duaghter had wings and fries. She loves her food extremely seasoned, and added MSG to hers, but otherwise found them to be excellent. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate. I chose tabbouleh rather than salad, and that was excellent, and very generous with the parsely. the chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the rice was beautifully cooked, with long grains that did not stick together at all. I have tried, and never succeeded, to get this same non-sticky and long grained finish on the rice, so the rice was a treat. The turnips and pickles perfectly complimented the dinner. Although the menu doesn't stipulate, the turnips are pickled and very tasty Overall, this is an excellent restaurant, and an outstanding shawarma place. It's family run, and I really enjoy supporting local restaurants. It is conveniently located at Whites and Kingston Rd.. There's plenty of parking, but not always totally close to the restaurant. We will certainly be ordering from here again!

Although I don't eat Afghan or Middle Eastern cuisine regularly, I do enjoy it. With three vertical rotisseries, the house specialty seems to be chicken shawarma. It looked good, but I had a craving for beef so I ordered the Beef Kebab, served with with rice, salad, and a choice of naan or a drink. The beef kebabs are made to order so it took a few minutes. At least I knew it was fresh! The included salad is also assembled as ordered, with your choice of ingredients. The seasoned rice was also freshly made. The entire plate was dressed with a variety of seasonings and sauces. Finally, the meat was placed on top and also dressed with sauces. Nice! Everything was delicious and I could see that it was obviously freshly made to order. The meat was well seasoned, tender, juicy, and flavourful, especially with the sauces on it. I even enjoyed the salad, where every component of it seemed fresh. This was a very good, flavourful meal. Beyond the good tasting food, the two fellows behind the counter were friendly and engaging. I think I'll have to come here more often!

The falafel special comes drowned in a variety of sauces which at first glance can seem a bit alarming to sauce-a-phobs like me. Generally when you go to Osmow's it's always best to stick to the classic dishes like Chicken on the Rocks, Stix (or half & half) or alternatively falafel or beef if you're in the mood for something different. I honestly would never advise someone to get a wrap from Osmows in general, especially on their first visit. My go to order is: Chicken on the Rocks & Stix (half & half) - with two lines of hot sauce, it is super filling - enough for almost two people Overall, I think I might give this place another go, but I'll definitely be sticking to my usual order next time.
