    Spicy Lamb Kidney 烤羊腰

Is raw, The fat on the kebabs was all greasy, the kidneys were raw, and some of the mutton kebabs were also undercooked. It was really not a pleasant experience to eat.

Food is good. I am not a spicy person so many dishes I found too spicy. I like the noodles. They are very chewy. The lamb bun is good too. Service is friendly but I wish the staff is "smarter". Like I asked for chopsticks and spoons as serving utensils but they only gave me one pair of chopsticks, I had multiple dishes that I need serving utensils. And it was annoying to keep asking multiple times. Ambiance is old but nice and clean. Since I don't like spicy food all that much so I won't be returning.

Toronto is a pretty diverse food scene and I considered myself a pretty well-varied eater. So it's always a pleasant surprise when you go to a restaurant serving up stuff you haven't really seen before. Chicken kebabs, with a Caesar salad...with Chinese style sheep organ soup? That's the kinda stuff you can get at Charcoal Kebab House, a Xinjiang restaurant located in Scarborough. Xinjiang is in northwest China and is made up of many ethnic minorities within that region, explaining the interesting menu. It's also a very nice restaurant, despite the outside looking kinda sketch. The food was great! You know it's popular when you roll in for a late lunch at 1PM and the place is still full of people. They've got great kebab combos at a good price. Keep in mind these aren't tiny kebabs (like skewers at a night market), these were big boy kebabs on metal sticks. The Chicken Kebabs were extremely juicy and tender, some of the best chicken I've had. The Caesar salad and bread it comes with were an odd pairing (given the rest of the Chinese style items on the menu), but tasty so I won't question it. My favourite was the Sheep Giblet Soup, very surprisingly. I'm very much not an offal fan (or much of a soup fan), but the soup was flavourful, savoury, and the bits of giblet were tender and tasty.

Went to this place with some friends for their authentic kababs. It's a small place hidden in a tiny plaza along with some grocery stores and other restaurants. The restroom seems to be downstairs and was broken during our visit, which is a huge inconvenience. But overall the vibe is chill with a candle on each table and some carpets and fun texts on the wall. We ordered a Chicken Kebabs combo, a Dapanji, some Samsas and a lamb soup. I can't tolerate lamb so I had none of the lamb dishes. The portion size is pretty large. All the chicken dishes are good. The chicken kebabs are my fav. They are juicy and flavorful, with big portion size. One thing worth noting is that the day we visited they only accept cash or Mastercard. Not sure if it's a rule or if it's just some temporary thing. But just be prepared to bring cash or a master card for payment. They also mentioned that if you only have debit they accept interac transfer.

Got the lamb kebab combo. The bread was ok (previously when I got it for takeout it was hard). Caesar salad was a weird pairing for the dish. The lamb was ok - there're better skewers out there (it was better the previous time). Lamb polo was ok. Raisins & especially pomegranate seeds were an interesting touch. Manta was decent. Langman and Lamb ravioli soup were pretty good. Ravioli were stuffed with lamb chunks, not mince. They don't serve tap water.

The food was excellent. Got the lamb kabob combo and the simba. The skewers were enormous. There was a wait time. The waitress told us she would call us when the table was available. But she didn't, when we came in there were lots of empty tables.

Charcoal Kebab House Do I Recommend? It's interesting food, I didn't enjoy all my dishes, but they definitely had some very good dishes. this restaurant is almost a 4 star, but due to the hygiene concern plus not all the dishes tasted great, I am giving only 3. How is the service? The service was okay, their water glasses and plates look dirty. so I am slight worried about their hygiene issues... many places of the restaurant also felt sticky. But still somewhat acceptable... How is the food? Their food was pretty decent. The person who recommended us there said the restaurant used to taste much better. I guess COVID-19 impacted their quality, hopefully their qualify bounce back soon. I definitely recommend the Samsa (bread with lamb fillings). The medium dapanji didn't taste good, spicy lamb kebab was mediocre. but Samsa and Sheep Giblet Soup was good.

Haven't had such authentic (though I'm not really an expert) xinjiang food for a while. Their lamb cuisines are exquisite and with good value. $20+ for a big portion. The kebab lamb is pretty good, I got non spicy one, except the last bit is bit undercooked, overall very tasty& nice cumin flavor. Their lamb rice-羊肉抓饭 is a must! Juicy and tender lamb meat with carrot cooked rice. The best of the dinner. 烤包子- forgive me I forget the English name for that, is mediocre though. For me too much spice& salty for the inside filling, though it's a lot of meat! And really big! But I have to drink a lot of water after eating it lol. Overall will visit for the second time! Recommended!

    Look of the restaurant

We visited the restaurant Nov 11, men washroom malfunction and ladies washroom is so dirty , I have a very difficult time to appreciate the environment.( especially the whole group need to wash our hands before grabbing the Samsa.

This tiny xinjiang restaurant is located in a small shady plaza at lawrence and mccowan road, but this is definitely a hidden gem in Scarborough. If you are a lamb lover, their lamb kabob combo will never disappoint you. We ordered a lamb kabab combo ($20), it comes with 4 giant lamb skewers,a large nan bread, and a dish of salad. - The lamb skewers: seasoned with cumins and spices. it's flavourful and cook to perfection - The nan bread was fresh and crispy. - chicken skewers: marinated with their house special seasoning, it's very juicy and tender. We think the chicken skewers was tasted even better than the lamb skewers. We wanna try their famous dapunji (braised chicken) on our next visit.

liked lagman halal food best outlet lamb skewers also recommend for bbq lovers

A delightful experience!!! Definitely it was worth driving there from mississauga. A small but nice place. Tastefully decorated. Great service. We had Lamb Kabob and Lamb Kidney. We haven't found this Kidney Kabob in other restaurants, pretty unique I rather say... and pretty good. All the items were very well prepared and delicious. This is one of the best Kabob places we have been so far.

Everything sounded appetizing but I finally opted for the K-Shack Fried Chicken Sandwich ("Antibiotic-free, hand-breaded whole white-meat chicken breast glazed in spicy-sweet sesame gochujang, topped with fresh scallions and kimchi slaw made with Choi's Kimchi, served on a toasted potato bun"). The ordering process at this location couldn't be easier: you enter what you want at the kiosk, pay, and then wait. It only took a few minutes before my sandwich was ready. And it's a good sandwich. Those Korean flavors really shine through, and that coleslaw cuts the heavy sauce quite nicely. The chicken itself was on the extremely dry side but otherwise I really enjoyed this concoction. The seating upstairs and downstairs meant it was easy enough to grab a table, too. It's a solid fast-food joint.

This is their second location, in a build with 3 other food vendors. It is mostly a takeout restaurant. There is a small counter where you could stand and eat. There are six set combinations. Or you can build your own pasta (BYOP) combo. On the soft-opening day (2025-01-20), they were offering an opening special of Mac N Cheese with BBQ Chicken sample and a drink for only $6.99. I ordered the following: 1. BYOP: Garlic Shrimp, penne, rose sauce, broccoli, black olives, mushrooms. It automatically comes with sliced green peppers and chopped parsley. 2. Opening Special ($6.99) x 2. For the BYOP, they didn't warn me it was medium spicy. I can handle it with a cold drink! The shrimp and penne were perfectly cooked. I loved the rose sauce. My choices of broccoli,  black olives, and mushrooms worked well together and with the base. The Opening Special was delicious; the Mac n Cheese part and BBQ Chicken were really good! Unfortunately, the BBQ was mildly spicy, and my son didn't like it; more for me! The customer service was good. It took them a long time to prepare the food (there were many orders prior to mine). But it was opening day, so hopefully, they will speed up their cooking. There is no free WiFi. The food stall is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are no customer washrooms. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-014

Similarly while I would not consider this quite a fusion restaurant, the food was indeed delicious! Most of the rice sides, had furikake sprinkled on top which always enhances the flavor. The sushi selection was good! The top items for me were the cod and lobster/shrimp udon. Again neither were quite executed as fusion (IMO) but nonetheless it was delicious! The steak was also good, but steak is more readily available on most menus elsewhere. The potato and egg salad as an app also made the top list. It was super creamy and paired nicely with the crunchy chips! The endless drink menu/option is also excellent, except I am not sure how much alcohol was actually in there because within the group of 13 people, most of us did not feel even slightly tipsy. The ambiance is beautiful and really embraces a jungle with vibrant colors intertwined into the interior. the bathroom however, is a different story as it is at the end of a very dark hallway. Not sure if they turn the lights on at night, but for someone with poor vision, it was hard to see as the light reflected off the walls. The servers were friendly and with a large group like ours, we did have some dishes that just never made it out so we did need to flag someone down for them about an hour or so in.

The…read morerestaurant itself is a whole experience... it was super colourful, modern, and upscale without feeling too stiff. My friend and I were seated near the bar area, so instead of regular dining chairs, we had those lower, wider lounge-style seats. It made the whole experience feel a bit more relaxed while still fitting the upscale ambiance. We decided to go all out and order a variety of dishes so we could really experience what the restaurant had to offer. To start, my friend ordered the El Camino while I went with the Chicha Sagrada. Mine came with a toasted marshmallow on a skewer, which was such a fun touch. The drink itself was lightly sweet with a cinnamon flavour that kind of reminded me of cinnamon heart candies, but not overly spicy at all, super easy to sip between bites and conversation. For food, we started with the Yasai Miso Crispy Sushi. The crispy rice gives it such a satisfying crunch in every bite, and the veggie topping ties everything together nicely. Definitely one of those dishes you keep reaching for. The Yellowtail "Nikkei Sashimi" was fresh and evenly cut, and the yuzu soy sauce gave each bite a bright, citrusy finish. I was expecting a bit more truffle flavour, but the citrus really stood out instead and made the dish super refreshing. We also got the Dragon Roll. It looked fairly simple, but sometimes simple really works. The unagi sauce was drizzled around the plate as decoration, but once you dip the roll in, it brings everything together really well. The shrimp tempura inside was fried perfectly... still had a nice bite and wasn't mushy at all. The Pulled Asado Beef Taco was a standout for me. Super crunchy shell, really tender beef, and that slightly sweet creamy sauce with pickled veggies on top just worked so well together. We also shared the Chicken Sliders and Wagyu Sliders. The chicken was juicy and tender, but the bottom bun got quite soft from the sauce, making it a bit messy and harder to hold. Still tasty, just not the best texture. The Wagyu sliders, on the other hand, were easily our favourite of the night... super juicy beef, truffle coming through in every bite, and overall rich without feeling heavy. Overall, a really solid experience. The ambience alone makes it feel like a special night out, but the food holds up too, especially if you're into sharing plates and trying a bit of everything. It's definitely on the pricier side, but it feels worth it for the full experience.
