Food that is marked as vegan is cooked in the fryer that is shared with meat. This is an absolute no no for people who are vegan. I ordered the vegan items and was severely disappointed with the fact that my vegan item reeked like meat to the point that I was gagging. I used to feel comfortable to come here before I was a vegan (over a year ago) and thought it was a cool atmosphere but now the trust is gone and I cannot gain it back. For the record do not share fryers with meat for vegan items. It no longer makes them vegan. It doesn't even make them vegetarian anymore. I'm so glad this second location opened. It was hard to get to Rosedale very often so now I can eat their delicious food more often. Location: In Newmarket at Mulock west of Leslie in the Vince's Plaza Parking: Freeeeeee The inside: It's a small unit, they had one 2 seat table, this is definitely a take out place. If it's summer so you can grab and go to the park and enjoy! In the window you see someone making saj wraps. You order at the entrance and they assemble in front of you. A bit farther back you have coolers of drink and delicious salads. Seriously, pick any one of them, they are delicious. This time I got a Falafel wrap. I was asked if I wanted an extra falafel or to replace it with roasted vegetables. I picked the roasted vegetables. There was a lot of falafel in the wrap already so I picked the vegetables, they were great! Always pick the roasted vegetables! The food: As I said I got the Falafel wrap with roasted vegetables instead of an extra falafel. I loved my choice. Our friends took us here and claimed it was a life changing experience, so obviously we had to try! We got the beef kebab wrap and the chicken shawarma bowl on half rice half salad, and both were so good! They make their saj bread on the spot and it lives up to the hype for sure - it's definitely one of a kind and I've never had anything like it! The wrap is a must to try! Service is great - they give soooooo many toppings and they give so much sauce! Next time I'm definitely going to get the chicken shawarma in a wrap! They also have a very wide selection of drinks that I've never seen before, but I didn't get anything this time. We'll definitely be back - I'm already so excited! read more

Got the chicken shawarma bowl and beef shawarma bowl. And both were amazing. Garlic sauce was top notch. The portion sizes are huge! Saj bread is an unleavened flatbread baked on a metal griddle - this piece of equipment is quite specialised, which is why this seems to be the only place with this here. Got a Chicken saj wrap with all toppings, rice & the first 3 sauces. It was good. The toppings were fresh & the sauces went well together. It had a good mix of flavours. The tahini was especially good, with a nutty note; it was better than other places which use hummus. It was the size of 2 normal shawarmas & cut in half. Got a sample of falafel & zucchini balls. Both were good but the falafel was better. The menu is quite small. There are some food choices in the fridge too. read more

Had the Shawarma bowls with rice and added a side of fries. Wow were the portions generous & the veggies were very fresh! Protein did lack a bit in flavour if eaten without the sauce, however, but the garlic & hot sauces did make up for it. Very delicious meal especially for the price these days. read more

Fantastic food. Chicken is delicious. Saj bread is on point. Staff is friendly, even had a few people in here to make the atmosphere warm and welcome. Well, it's thankful Thursday and I wanted to call out flaming stove, which is new to Newmarket in the Vince's Plaza beside the theatre centre / Newmarket HS. Wow, I love the chicken Shawarma here. I've been waiting for a good Shawarma place to come closer to my home. Not that there aren't several good ones in Newmarket Aurora already. The service is super friendly and I love it when they're in wrap making process which is done right in front of you. Nothing like seeing fresh wraps being cooked and then used for your lunch. Can't get better. Well, I imagine most people come for takeout however there are a few tables for people to dine at and they're in the back so you actually have some ambiance. I don't feel like you're surrounded by a bunch of takeout people (like me). Don't go there for a date night of course but hey, who am I to say what date night should look like? The wraps are huge cut into two I could probably share them with my wife if she knew I was going there but I don't want her to so I have to scarf both of them down then I'm really full. They make their wraps on saj bread which is a large Flatbread. Amazing flavour. Decent portion too. The wrap is very filling and can be a decent portion for 2 people. Ready to go sides are available for grab-and-go. The falafel with hummus was pretty good. And great service. Will definitely come again!! read more

Shawarmas are a downtown staple for a Toronto man like myself. But in all my years, I've never been to a shawarma restaurant that makes their own in-house saj bread and sauces. My shawarma was loaded with flavour; the meat was marinated with delicious spices, and their in-house sauces (including the Stupid Hot Sauce) were all delicious. This location also has a variety of American sodas, and pre-cooked lunch meals and treats to buy. This restaurant is a Newmarket staple and deserves all of the praise it receives! read more
