I was really craving a shawarma and wanted to try a new place! I came across Flaming Stove in Newmarket and really wanted to check it out. They had some amazing reviews so I knew this place wouldn't miss. They had seating available which was great and the staff were all so kind as well. I love when you come in you are able to see the Saj bread being made fresh and you can see all the toppings available. They also have so many different flavours of drinks I did not know was available! We ordered a Saj Chicken Shawarma wrap and a Chicken Shawarma bowl. I want to start off by saying their portion sizes are HUGE! I have never seen a shawarma this big before and filled with so many toppings. Everything was so flavourful and tasted absolutely delicious. I wish there was a location close to me, as I would go so often! I highly highly recommend this joint, their house-made hot sauce is so flavourful and definitely makes it even more better! 10/10 Recommend! read more

Food that is marked as vegan is cooked in the fryer that is shared with meat. This is an absolute no no for people who are vegan. I ordered the vegan items and was severely disappointed with the fact that my vegan item reeked like meat to the point that I was gagging. I used to feel comfortable to come here before I was a vegan (over a year ago) and thought it was a cool atmosphere but now the trust is gone and I cannot gain it back. For the record do not share fryers with meat for vegan items. It no longer makes them vegan. It doesn't even make them vegetarian anymore. We don't eat meat or meat products, that includes that fat that drips off into the fryers during the cooking process. Now you have learned something new read more

Got takeout and this place was great! Shawarma Land is still my fave but this is still great! Got the chicken shawarma plate. The pickled vegetables be with it were delish. Can't say much about service or ambiance and we got takeout but overall very satisfied customers! read more

You dont want to cook tonight, you're thinking about pizza, burgers, subs? Do yourself a favour, come and try a Swarma. Not cheap, but it easily feeds two. The bread is special, I am told, made on site. The ingredients are all fresh and plentiful. Just tell them what you want. The sandwich is really big. There is a variety of food in the cooler to take with you as well and all made in-house. Try them, you will not be disappointed... read more

I'm so glad this second location opened. It was hard to get to Rosedale very often so now I can eat their delicious food more often. Location: In Newmarket at Mulock west of Leslie in the Vince's Plaza Parking: Freeeeeee The inside: It's a small unit, they had one 2 seat table, this is definitely a take out place. If it's summer so you can grab and go to the park and enjoy! In the window you see someone making saj wraps. You order at the entrance and they assemble in front of you. A bit farther back you have coolers of drink and delicious salads. Seriously, pick any one of them, they are delicious. This time I got a Falafel wrap. I was asked if I wanted an extra falafel or to replace it with roasted vegetables. I picked the roasted vegetables. There was a lot of falafel in the wrap already so I picked the vegetables, they were great! Always pick the roasted vegetables! The food: As I said I got the Falafel wrap with roasted vegetables instead of an extra falafel. I loved my choice. I'm going to go back and definitely try a chicken shawarma wrap because it smells delicious and the people after me got a whole bunch of them and they looked fantastic Staff: Everyone was so nice. I've eaten at the Rosedale location and at festivals bit never here. They walked me through the process and suggested toppings. So helpful read more

Our friends took us here and claimed it was a life changing experience, so obviously we had to try! We got the beef kebab wrap and the chicken shawarma bowl on half rice half salad, and both were so good! They make their saj bread on the spot and it lives up to the hype for sure - it's definitely one of a kind and I've never had anything like it! The wrap is a must to try! Service is great - they give soooooo many toppings and they give so much sauce! Next time I'm definitely going to get the chicken shawarma in a wrap! They also have a very wide selection of drinks that I've never seen before, but I didn't get anything this time. We'll definitely be back - I'm already so excited! read more

Def could've just had one or the other and shared it between two ppl. Staff were patient as well took our time to decide our toppings since it was our first time there. read more

Unlike other shawarma places, this place has saj wraps. Saj bread is an unleavened flatbread baked on a metal griddle - this piece of equipment is quite specialised, which is why this seems to be the only place with this here. Got a Chicken saj wrap with all toppings, rice & the first 3 sauces. It was good. The toppings were fresh & the sauces went well together. It had a good mix of flavours. The tahini was especially good, with a nutty note; it was better than other places which use hummus. It was the size of 2 normal shawarmas & cut in half. Got a sample of falafel & zucchini balls. Both were good but the falafel was better. The menu is quite small. There are some food choices in the fridge too. read more

Had the Shawarma bowls with rice and added a side of fries. Wow were the portions generous & the veggies were very fresh! Protein did lack a bit in flavour if eaten without the sauce, however, but the garlic & hot sauces did make up for it. Very delicious meal especially for the price these days. read more

Fantastic food. Chicken is delicious. Saj bread is on point. Staff is friendly, even had a few people in here to make the atmosphere warm and welcome. The flavour profile of the chicken was practically perfect. The saj was wrapped perfectly and grilled. Garlic sauce was good, and the hot sauce (I had both) delivered flavour and heat. I will be back. 4.7 read more

Huge portions and very tasty quick service food! Will definitely return and recommend to friends.

How does this place manage to stand out from the countless quite-good shawarma shops in town? Quality ingredients. Exacting preparation. Perfect portions. And the best sauces in the business. A simple menu with absolutely no filler. A hidden gem from the city finds a second home. Perhaps the very best shawarma/ falafel place in the GTA. read more

Well, it's thankful Thursday and I wanted to call out flaming stove, which is new to Newmarket in the Vince's Plaza beside the theatre centre / Newmarket HS. Wow, I love the chicken Shawarma here. I've been waiting for a good Shawarma place to come closer to my home. Not that there aren't several good ones in Newmarket Aurora already. The service is super friendly and I love it when they're in wrap making process which is done right in front of you. Nothing like seeing fresh wraps being cooked and then used for your lunch. Can't get better. Well, I imagine most people come for takeout however there are a few tables for people to dine at and they're in the back so you actually have some ambiance. I don't feel like you're surrounded by a bunch of takeout people (like me). Don't go there for a date night of course but hey, who am I to say what date night should look like? The wraps are huge cut into two I could probably share them with my wife if she knew I was going there but I don't want her to so I have to scarf both of them down then I'm really full. With regards to my what I eat there again question that I always pose the answer is I have I have I have I have I have I have I have... read more

Love this place. It's my go to (healthy) fast food place. I've eaten here dozens of times and the food is always fresh and wonderful!

They make their wraps on saj bread which is a large Flatbread. Amazing flavour. Decent portion too. The wrap is very filling and can be a decent portion for 2 people. Ready to go sides are available for grab-and-go. The falafel with hummus was pretty good. And great service. Will definitely come again!! read more

Shawarmas are a downtown staple for a Toronto man like myself. But in all my years, I've never been to a shawarma restaurant that makes their own in-house saj bread and sauces. My shawarma was loaded with flavour; the meat was marinated with delicious spices, and their in-house sauces (including the Stupid Hot Sauce) were all delicious. This location also has a variety of American sodas, and pre-cooked lunch meals and treats to buy. This restaurant is a Newmarket staple and deserves all of the praise it receives! read more
