    Classsic hummus

Best meal I've had in weeks! We stopped by on a Sunday evening for dinner and drinks. They were able to book us in pretty last minute and had great service. We ordered the classic hummus (SO GOOD DEFINITELY GET IT!), lamb shawarma, fried potatoes, and cauliflower shawarma. Everything was delicious and super filling. We also ordered the shuk shuk and zaddy cocktails and coffee ice cream dessert. I preferred the zaddy over the shuk shuk, but the shuk shuk had some nice spices to it. We'll be back again soon!

I'd give this place 4.5 stars, it was one of the better Middle Eastern places I've eaten at, and the chicken was amazing. I'd come back here again just to eat the chicken. If you're in the Clerkenwell area or nearby, come here for dinner. It's great with 2-6 people so that you can share a bunch of stuff; with just 2 people we were only able to get 3 things, but it was enough to know that the food was great. We did have to wait about 30 min for a table for 2 on a Thursday night, so this place is pretty popular and I'm sure the wait is even longer on a weekend. Leek Hummus (£7) - This was unique, tasty, and excellent with the hazelnuts and green tahini sauce. I'd highly recommend this, or any of the hummus that they have. It is served with fresh, warm pita. Rotisserie Chicken (£13 for a half chicken, £24 for a whole chicken) - The meat was tender, moist, flavorful, and everything a roast chicken should be. Don't miss it. I'd come here and get this over and over again, it was perfect. Mejaderah (£4.50) - Rice, lentils, and fried onions. This was a great side with the chicken and I'd highly recommend this dish too to complement a protein. Overall, excellent food and I'd definitely come back here. If you like rotisserie chicken and Middle Eastern food, look no further.

So if you have 'Shawarma' as the name of your restaurant you have to know your potential customers are going to be coming in expecting a decent shawarma - & having lived in London for 15+ years I have found it hard to get a decent middle eastern styled shawarma so I came in with low expectations and I guess those low expectations were met. I went for the lamb shawarma which had fresh meat, but it was very dry and lacking in the pickle department which you expect to be stuffed inside as well. It also tasted quite minty - which was nice flavour wise as well as unexpected but again it felt like I was eating a lamb salad in a pita bread. Also it would help if the pita bread came out hot. I don't know, its quite ballsy to get shawarma right, and once again this was just average. My search for good shawarma's in London will continue.

The food was wonderful, the falafel authentic and tasty, and the sandwich just perfect with the right level of heat.

We had the lamb shawarma, it was incredibly fresh, tasty, and the lamb was smooth as butter. Highly recommended!!

The Food: We did the Valentine's set menu, and a fair warning: it creeps up on you! Every course is delicious, but by the time dessert arrived, we were absolutely stuffed. Even if you aren't typically a seafood fan, give it a chance here. The dishes are incredibly approachable, well-balanced, and clearly had a lot of thought put into the flavors. The Vibe & Dress Code: The atmosphere is unmatched, but learn from our mistake! We spent the day exploring Covent Garden and didn't have time to head back and change. You definitely want to dress smart-professional to match the elegance of the restaurant. We felt a little underdressed for the level of experience they provide! Summary: Romantic, delicious, and worth every penny. Just dress up and come hungry!

Given how difficult it was to get a seat, I would have liked to have been seated in the main dining room with the more impressive array of decorations, but my tiny table tucked away in a corner near the entrance wasn't all bad; decorations were still plentiful, and I didn't feel in the way of passing traffic. With the food, you get what you pay for; which may not be as much as you might think given the "poshness" of the place. Without booze, you shouldn't end up paying more than £50pp. The menu has an array of seasonal favorites like Hertfordshire Beef with a red wine jus, roast chicken with leeks and girolle mushrooms, and seasbass with Autumn vegetables. Seasonal desserts are also available and the booze is seemingly never-ending. You can never go wrong with the chicken here, regardless of season, and with a seasoned sommelier always on-hand, rest assured all your wine pairing needs will be met. The beef and venison dishes are also superb, with both light and hearty sides to compliment them perfectly. Dessert can be a hit or miss. I didn't like my first experience here with the Delice, but my second experience was a delicious poached pear with a superb buckwheat ice cream and buckwheat-infused biscuit. I paired mine with the recommended Bordeaux wine to wash down the sweetness, and let me tell you, it was an extra £14 well spent. Overall, this isn't the type of place you visit every week, or even every month, but it's definitely worth planning months in advance to come during the hholiday season. Reservations are a MUST.

Couldn't recommend it more. Chicken Mezze plate was very good, tender and juicy but not under cooked, good variance in type of chicken as well. Falafel could have been the best I have ever had. Can always tell the quality of it by the dryness and chick pea to herb ratio. Fantastic. Garlic potatoes - very good with peppers. Cold Mezze- excellent but would have wanted more tabouleh if possible but you can't have everything. Hummus Babaganoush and Labneh all top draw. With a good glass of red the whole thing came to less than 80 pounds. Unreal. Service was ace not a thing to complain about. What a place. The server resisted my request but then wrapped up the rest of my meal and brought it to me. What really put me off was that he then squatted down next to me- as if I were a child- and explained to me that they don't normally "do this" for people but they were making an exception for me- almost like a guilt trip! We had just dropped £350 or so on our meals, wine and drinks and I'm made to feel like a burden because I wanted the remainder of my £25 main to take home?! This is the norm these days to offer take-away and why waste perfectly good food? Really left me with a sour taste in my mouth after what was otherwise a pleasant meal.
