The house fries where just mashed fried Patatos, they where bland but after adding salt and pepper and mixed in my eggs it was good. The turkey bacon was kinda burnt but also chewy. And the toast was perfect! The service was fast and simple very nice. The inside was nice, and a good amount of people eating there. I went around 1 on a Sunday. They only have two bathrooms. I did enjoy my food but it was not the best and but not bad this is dinner food keep that in mind. I don't think I would personally pick this place again but if a friend or family member asked to go I would not put up a fight.

Right away we were sat down. It was at this visit I had the vegetarian omlette which came with some hash browns. The portion size was a little smaller than what I was used to at the other diner but that didn't make this not delicious! The service was great as I found the server gracious and kind and it had a quieter atmosphere which was welcoming for me. Hopefully we will once in a while come here again. It was a diner I almost forgot about but wondered why I dared to do so. Gateway Diner is worth the trip!

This was a really great spot. My coworker and I were over in North Jersey for work but flew in and out of PHL rather than facing Newark. In order to beat the crazy construction traffic outside of Philly and to have a buffer for whatever TSA nightmare we were going to face, we got back near the airport early... like 4 1/2 hours before our flight kind of early. I wanted breakfast outside of the airport so I found this spot while he was refilling the rental car. I got the French toast with homefries. The french toast was perfect, with just a tiny bit of crisp in spot from the griddle. Same with the homefries. I would have liked a bit more seasoning while they were cooking, but a bit of salt and pepper and I was good to go. My coworker got the big breakfast but subbed out the homefries for corned beef hash. While I'm not a fan of corned beef hash, it looked exactly like how my mom and grandfather like it, with a little bit of crisp to it. The pancake was huge and he said his over medium eggs were cooked exactly like he hoped they would be. Now I just need to plan out my flights so I can come get breakfast here again and try one of the sandwiches, or omelettes, or maybe get French toast again...

My better half had the house-roasted roast beef on multigrain with lettuce and tomatoes and said it was delicious. We also got onion rings and deluxe chili to go. Can't wait for dinner! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The only negative was the bathroom--it really needs a remodel and could have been cleaner.

With a full bar of spinners and dining area the waitstaff works together and before long your food is before you. Our plates looked appealing enough and the portions were generous. My eggs and bacon were basic with no surprises and his pancakes looked fluffy and light. While his eggs were perfectly cooked to order, the sausage was undercooked and still pink inside. The full dining room kept the staff busy and unable to check back in time for the issue to be remedied but we did end up swapping it out for bacon after our meal was finished. There is always room for bacon The place is dated and could use some sprucing up, pricing is slightly on the high end for basic breakfast and no specials that include coffee/tea - that coupled with the undercooked meat. Cross Keys earns three and a half stars with room for improvement.
