I love sharp park restaurant because it's really a low key kinda funky place to eat some good ol home cooking. In that regard some have even said that it's the best place in town. While that statement is subject to debate I have to say it could be. I've had the fried chicken (crispy outside, moist and cooked on the inside, yum) the filet of dore sole (also cooked just right) with a really nice garlicky sauce , the scapalone (which I didn't really care for in comparison with the other entrees) and the pork chops (2) , stuffed, Cajun, and grilled ,omg. Just thinking about them makes me full because in addition to the entrees you get soup or salad, some kind of starch (I always get the loaded baked potato) and veggies ( not over cooked) , all for a very reasonable price usually under $20. In all, the meals let you walk away a very satisfied, happy camper. The service can be hit or miss depending on who your server is but they are fun and this isn't a fast food place so go, enjoy, walk away satisfied. This is where I come when I feel like eating Prime Rib, but not wanting to get ripped off and charged $30+ for it. Sharp Park has prime rib for cheaper and still good. They have daily specials which is nice to try. The staff there is friendly, but they don't dress very professional. This restaurant is at the Sharp Park golf course, so you can't expect too much. The place looks pretty dark and stingy...There's a fireplace too. The restaurant actually looks like a living room in a cabin. I really only come here for the prime rib...that's it. read more

Visited today for lunch. My tuna tasted like it had a metal taste and was spoiled or old. The shrimp sandwich was masked with so much mayo and later, my husband's lips were tingling so it was spoiled, too. After a round of golf last week I stopped in at the bar for a beer and ended up staying all evening and having dinner. The place was built by the Spreckels family in the 1930s and retains its original glass doors and beams. It has aged well and now houses some of nicest people you're going to meet in the Bay Area. Managed by an amiable guy named Kevin, the menu includes everything from a Reuben sandwich to surf and turf (you can even order your lunch on the golf course and pick it up as you swing past the 10 hole). I had the beef stroganoff and a green salad sitting at the bar. Delicious. Too often, restaurants use their worst cuts of meat for strogonoff. Not here. The meat was tender with no fat and the rich gravy was flavoriful. They even had a wine list that impressed me. Casual dining, nice people and great food. Its worth checking out. read more

This review is about the restaurant as a wedding venue and conference site. We had our wedding reception here and we were very pleased at the food and the service. It is amazing what that little kitchen puts out, and Kevin is very attentive and does what he says he will do. We used the back room for our party of about 50, and had dance floor and DJ in the main room. The back room is a bit stark; bring your best Martha Stewart to do it up nicely. As for the rest rooms, they are what they are for such a great value. Have your party at night, serve lots of wine, beer and cocktails, and everyone will go away talking about what a great time they had. read more

Ordered a Prime Rib Hash & Joe's Special and it was so delicious. Great portions and welcoming service. Our server was on top of her game and refilled our coffee and attended to our orders in a timely manner. The atmosphere is very dated but it's got a lovely view of the golf course with cypress trees and blue skies by the windows. Buttermilk pancakes were fluffy and yummy. Our overall experience was wonderful, relaxing, and satisfying. We used our Restaurant.com coupon here for a $15 certificate and they honored it via phone. We would come back here again. read more

We ate here for Father's Day today. We were seated immediately in the large dining hall with only 3 other parties being served. The server was kind and prompt. We received a large water pitcher for refills, which was nice. We didn't have to wait too long to get our food. The reason they lost two stars was mostly because it seems to be an older restaurant in which they haven't really tried hard to maintain. The menus were old and cracking plastic, and half our table got photocopied menus. The artwork on the walls were a hodgepodge of random styles, and all of them had price tags on them, as if the restaurant is trying to sell them? Not sure the story there. I ordered the California Club with fries. The sandwich was fine, but the fries tasted overdone and crispy (beyond the point of tasting good). Overall, I wasn't impressed. On the plus side, ample parking and beautiful views of the golf course from our table next to the window. read more

This was our third visit to this establishment and this was the worst. My steak was under cooked (I'm talkin' pink and almost waggin' the tail) and my wife's beef medallions were over cooked (burnt to be exact). The service was decent and as this is part of a golf course set up, expect some noisy fellows playing liar's dice in the adjoined bar lounge. The main entrance is a bit dark and unfriendly and the bar is usually peopled with characters right off the green, so anticipate lots of swing stories and par five gibberish. I would not recommend this place after three visits and to think, it is just down the road from our house, nice and close. Prices are acceptable but I wouldn't go back. read more

My knowledge of their menu is limited to breakfast/lunch, but the hamburger steak with two eggs, crispy hash browns and rye or wheat toast is my usual order and it is absolutely divine. First time I had the Roast Beef Dip Sandwich it was so lean, juicy and flavorful it was nearly transcendent though the second experience was merely mortal. Chicken fried steak and eggs is pretty crave-worthy with a rich buttermilk sausage gravy. Prices are low and the view of the golf course is lovely. The building is a historic landmark and the decor is very charming with its high vaulted ceilings, wooden beams, tiled fireplace and "mission" style light fixtures. Service can be a mite slow but is always very friendly. By far the best breakfast around. read more

A friend and I visited this resturant and we had a very pleasant lunch. We ordered with a waitress that was very helpful and asked several times if everything was alright. We order Steak and Eggs with a side salad. The steak was juicy and large, along with the country potatoes and salad, Our meal was delicious. At one point the executive chef, Kevin Ramsy, came to our table and asked if things were alright. I would visit this resturant again. It was GREAT! A friend and I wanted to get out of the traffic from Highway 1 and stopped here. Kevin the Chef came by got our orders and served them right up =) Delicious salad - nice and crispy. My Southern Fried Chicken was like how my grandma made it and brought back great memories - not greasy, little crunchy and flavorful inside =). My friend had the Fish special and that was yummy too. Perfectly made! The view of the golf course was pleasing and relaxing. And the drinks were good too - I had tequila sunrise and my friend had a Martini! The place was clean and we enjoyed it. This review is in reference to a large party venue at SPR. We had a memorial dinner with 160+ guests. The meal was offered buffett style and the presentation was upscale. There was no shortage of food and the desserts were both tasty and of large portions. The banquet room was OK but the views were amazing. Kevin, head chef, was pleasant to work with. I got hammered here after an Irish memorial service (go figure). Bar ha reasonable prices, food was good buffet style.

We agree on the Sunday service being the day to go. We have been three times. The bar is good. The Chef Kevin is awesome if you go on Sunday afternoon and get him as your server as well. Saturday - really not good. The Rib eye was really fatty and greasy and burnt. We had a pretty traditional breakfast one Sunday. I do not understand why Pacifica has such a hard time with service and consistency as well as food being so close to SF! Sunday eve we had a great Salmon the first time we went. I don't think we will go back. It's too bad, this could really be a destination with the cool old funky decor and the great view of the golf course. IF they have any other function going on, even if it's small, forget it. We ordered one dinner and they split it into two not good dinners and brought the bill. We thought this was OK for what we got but the waitress came back and decided to charge us $5 to split the dinner even though we didn't want it split. Sort of typical Pacifica. Sad. read more

just finished a fathers day dinner. been here before with not many complaints.... until now... reservations for 4 at 7pm, was seated...took over 15min for any waiter/waitress to come and give menus/take drink order/or just greet our party. asked for water a total of 3 times throughout our dinner. Two of us ordered the Prime rib, which came out overdone. my dads baked potato was undercooked and hard. My salad was half the size of the other 3, looked like they ran out of lettuce and carrots and divied up our salads to make mine. service was not necessarily terrible, unless you consider lack of it to be. i do. although i may give the benefit of the doubt to the staff for being under staffed. (1 waiter, 1 waitress for the entire restaurant.) that given, it still seemed like they lacked proper training or common sense. as mentioned above about the water... finally was given a carafe, but no glasses?! WTF!!! overall food was decent, service was terrible, and i hope to never return. anyone can serve hot food, that can taste ok, but good service is extremely important for me to want to return to an establishment. read more

Just had an amazing lunch at the Sharp Park Golf Restaurant. Our server was just the BEST! She was attentive and knew the history of the building and was very accommodating in adjusting the menu for our dietary needs. Unfortunately they don't have artificial sweetener and so my husband had unsweetened iced tea. My seafood salad was delicious and HUGE! Fresh crab and lots of little shrimp together with crisp lettuce, beets, boiled eggs, an entire avocado and freshly made dressing. The cheesecake was homemade and too big for one person. We had a great lunch and will go back soon. The building is a bit tired - but clean and the view was spectacular of the golf course. read more

We just had a graduation party for my daughter at Sharp Park Restaurant. Kevin, the chef, was great...very easy to work with. The food was wonderful. We had a variety of hot and cold appetizers....they just kept the food coming. They set up a dance floor and we provided our own DJ....and the cost was VERY reasonable. We had my husband's 40th Birthday Banquet in the private party room behind the restaurant, and OMG - this might possibly have been the best venue for a party of 50+ I have ever been in. First off - the service was top of the mark. Kevin and his staff were fabulous, professional, engaging, friendly, and REAL. Everything was exactly as we had envisioned. Our bartender for the evening was phenomenal, and even sang a badass rendition of ACDC's "Dirty Deeds" when the karaoke started. The food was EXCELLENT and plentiful. Everyone of our guests remarked that they couldn't believe how much food we had, and how good it was. All this for an amazingly affordable price. I'm telling you, this place is no B.S.. If you are looking for a space to hold a private party, I can't recommend this place enough. Thanks Sharp Park, we'll be there again for sure! read more

Brunch buffet on Mother's Day...$23.95 per adult....This is not a place to bring your mother or anybody if good food and restaurant ambience are important at a reasonable price. It definitely ranks very low in restaurant style, overall satisfaction, and food quality. Chef Gordon Ramsey should target this place for a future Kitchen Nightmare episode. The parking is fine since its part of the golf course...and I'm sure its fine for the regulars that have already forgiven the restaurant for many shortcomings, but for a newcomer.....it's hideous for the price per person. Let's be more specific...the entire restaurant is separated into three in-tandem sections....all in need of a major make over. To get to the buffet section, your party must walk through the bar, then the middle restaurant section which you can order off a menu, then to the back room where the buffet is located. Entering the back area felt like attending a church fund raising function...bare walls, little decorations, Costco foldout tables with paper table covering, including the same arrangement to display food items around the 1/2 perimeter of the room, and low metal framed seating with outdated fabric and in need of new stuffing. In fact even mother commented that the seats were so low that she felt like she needed a booster chair of some sort....so the hostess brought mother a stack of menus to prop her up. To the food area...old worn out plates, not all clean, salad dishes sat out in large bowls without any refrigeration (again, just sitting on the same fold-out tables). Hot foods were somewhat better, but lacked taste, quality and presentation for $24 per adult. Good dessert variety, with quality of 6 out of 10, but desserts like the salads (i.e. mayo based) are allowed to sit on table and counter tops without any refrigeration. Champagne, coffee, water, oj were offered and served, but again not of good quality. Also, utensils needed updating. So overall, $24 per person, plus tax and gratuities can be better spent elsewhere for much improved ambience and quality of food. No one in our party raved about it afterwards. Suggestion to owner/managers....update the facility, work on presentation of food, and ensure that better health controls are in place since food items are being ingested. One last note, wait-staff members were pleasant and friendly...no issues here. Not a restaurant that we would return to without a major overhaul. Clearly a wake-up call to the owner/managers. read more

I have had dinner here twice in the past few months. I'm giving the one star because of the service. The food deserves a four star at least. It's delicious, reasonable and the portions are big. However, their server on Saturday nights is probably the worst server I have ever had in a restaurant. There is a young girl helping to bus, seat the bring orders, she is fine. Actually, you are better off asking her to take your order. I felt sorry for how she was treated by the waitress. Here's what happened. We were seated. We did get bread from the bus girl. She also ended up taking our drink orders on a napkin because the waitress took her pad. This waitress did come to our table. We asked about the specials. She said "I'll be right back" and did return for at least 30 minutes to take our order. When she finally returned she started to take our order then said "excuse me" right in the middle of writing to talk to a friend coming from the back room. Then, she offered home-made noodles as a side to my friends. They said no to the noodles, but I wanted to try them. I told her I'll have the noodles with my meal. She said, "No, sorry, I can't do that to the chef." Now, at this point, we started laughing because it was so bad. She just looked at us so unaware of what she was doing. We thought about leaving, but by the time we went somewhere else, it would be getting very late. I will say that once our order was placed, it came quickly, but we were there almost an hour before eating. Someone needs to replace her on Saturday nights. In fact, she has no business serving in a restaurant. The place is very casual (it could use some work) but that does not excuse this horrible service. Kevin, the chef should know this. Kudos to Chef Kevin for preparing an excellent array of entrees for my father's recent 90th birthday celebration. I would highly recommend Sharp Park Restaurant at the gold course. Our party consisted of 18 and working with Kevin on the arrangements were great. Because the location is old, I wasn't expecting a lot in the decor department, but the room was set up very nice and decor isn't high on my list, good food and spending time with family and friends are. Our waitress Flora was on it, helping me keep the party moving and the food was fabulous, I received many comments from my guests on how delicious and tender the prime rib was, as well as the Salmon and Garlic Prawns. Everything was served hot, which for a large party is a feat in itself, and the meal included salad or soup, wine with dinner and desert. The price was extremely reasonable for the private room and food. My father had a great 90th birthday - thank you Kevin and staff! read more

We ceklebrated my friend & his mother's b day here today. It is a nice casual place with friendly service & good food & drinks in a casual atmosphere with a great view of the golf course. You must realize that this is just average good comfort food, nothing spectacular or gourmet. The calamari is lite & crispy & tnder, the tostata has wonderful ovacato, tomato, beans, cheese, & sour cream on a wonderful tortilla, the sliders are good with a nice patty, ab bit dry but good with cheese on a bun, the beef & cheese sandwich is well seasoned with cheese on a white roll, the chicken wings are crispy & greasless & tender, the onion ribngs are crispy & greasless with onion that stays in with each bite, & round it off with a couple Gordon Birsh Blond Bocks & two jello shots & you will not be disappointed. So, for some good comfort food at reasonable prices in a clean casual atmosphere, Sharp Park Restaurant cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys. read more
