Kan Kiin Brunch & Thai Eatery - Matcha buttermilk pancake ( with homemade Matcha cream)

Kan Kiin Brunch & Thai Eatery

I think if you order 4 entrees for a group of 4 (2 dudes/2 gals) you'll leave feeling fully satiated with a little room for dessert. The pineapple in the fried rice adds a nice sweetness to compliment all the other dishes. Pad thai was probably the best I've ever had. A lot of pad thais at different restaurants often are too sweet, or "ketchupy" but Kan Kiin's nailed it. Salt Pork Belly is a great meat choice, probably everyone's favorite that night. Green curry was excellent too. Service was great and restaurant ambience was very clean and modern. Will definitely be back!

The service was on point the whole time, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Food wise, it was a bit of a mix. The matcha pancakes looked amazing and the cream on top was really good, but the pancakes themselves were a little on the dry side. The noodles were actually a pleasant surprise and very different from what I expected but really tasty. The wings were super good too, especially with the sauce on the side so you can control how much you want. The clay pot dish was just okay, nothing bad but nothing that really stood out either. The highlight for me was definitely the steak and eggs! it was cooked well and probably the most satisfying dish we ordered. Overall, it's a solid spot with great presentation and good service, but the food didn't completely wow me. Not bad at all, just not something I'd go out of my way for but still worth trying at least once.

FINALLY! Much like…read morewith so many of the other eateries that have previously sat on my perpetually long list of bookmarks, it took me far too long to finally check out Tselogs. Ever since one of my old coworkers mentioned how this place was her go-to spot whenever she had cravings for some of her childhood favorites, I had been wanting to come here. I mean, with an endorsement like that, how could I not be intrigued? Of course, it also makes it that much more inexplicable that it's taken me all of these years, especially since I pass by this place all of the time! While their original location isn't all that far away, where Tselogs calls home now is so much more convenient. By comparison, their current space is not only a lot larger, but parking is easier and you don't have to deal with the traffic that can back up on San Pedro. As for the menu, it doesn't seem to have changed much since they moved a few years back, other than perhaps one or two things falling off/getting added on - it's still filled with the same terrific selection of silogs, in a dozen different varieties, along with a slate of appetizers, specialty dishes, daily specials, and desserts. What's more, they even have a full bar with a mix of Filipino inspired cocktails, too! -- COMBINATION SILOG with Lechon Kawali and Bangus This was awesome! I was most excited for the Bangus and it was so good - crispy, flavorful, and nowhere near overcooked. The Lechon Kawali wasn't too bad either, but, as a whole, it was a little fattier than others others I've had in the past. -- COMBINATION SILOG with Sisig and Lumpia Shanghai Not quite as good as I was hoping for, but no less satisfying! While I liked the sisig and how flavorful it was, I would've preferred pork over chicken. As for the Lumpia Shanghai, each piece was fried up perfectly and was fairly plump, but I wish the filling had been more flavorful. Beyond the food, service isn't too shabby either, as the workers are friendly and the kitchen gets orders out relatively fast. However, one thing that I've noticed is that each time we've been here, we've never received the complimentary shrimp chips that so many others seem to get. Not sure if it's only given upon request, the luck of the draw with regards to which worker takes your order, or what, but it's definitely something we couldn't help but notice. Those shrimp chips aside, between how convenient they are and how good the food has been, it's easy to see why my old coworker comes here any time she has a craving for her childhood comfort foods. Plus, even though they don't stay open as late as they used to (I think they used to close at 2am on Fridays and Saturdays?), Tselogs still keeps some relatively friendly late night hours (open until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays). Sucks for the late night party crowd, but more than enough for the rest of us!

Located in a rather dense part of Daly City, but with a little effort, you can find a spot to park. NOTE: There are meters on Mission Street that only take quarters! You order at the counter, then take a seat. Nice variety on the menu, both breakfast and lunch items (eggy thangs & goodness between bread). A couple of Latin items. A small choice of baked goods and a self-serve water station. Ordered "The Scrambled" w/ ham and cheddar, potatoes... no choice on toast, just straight unbuttered wheat, so you'll need to request butter if you want some. Also got a large latte which was delicious! Everything was brought to me, which was nice. Only saw one staffer up front (they weren't busy), and she was super friendly and upbeat. Can't believe I haven't been here before, but I will be back as I'd like to try the Baleada, which is egg, bean, and cheese in a tortilla... simple, but looks tasty. Also, prices were very reasonable! Go, go, GO!

You order and pay at the counter and they'll bring you your dish if you want to dine in. There is metered street parking at the front, but you can find residential parking on the side streets. The ambiance of the cafe was simple, warming and welcoming; a quiet and relaxing vibe. Service overall was great and dish came out decently fast. They cleaned up pretty quickly as well when a table was finished. I wanted something a bit light so I opted for: 1) American Omelette(6.5/10)(~$12) - A decent and light breakfast plate. The omelette was a thin egg omelette a bit of a departure from your usual diner fare. The ham wasn't diced either, it was just 1-2 deli sliced ham placed in between with your choice of cheese(provolone, cheddar or swiss). For sides, you can either get a salad or potatoes. I went with the potatoes and they were grilled really well and seasoned just right. It also came with a sliced wheat bread. It was an okay dish, but if you want something more filling, I would try something else. 2) Drip Coffee(Small)(7/10)($2.75) - Just your usual house coffee. Overall, taste was good without it being overly bitter. A adequate cup of coffee that will wake you up in the morning. Price was very reasonable as well. 3) Pupusas(5.5/10)($4.50) - I ordered a pupusa to go as I wanted to give it a try for lunch. It was an okay pupusa; I ordered the chorizo one....but couldn't really find it in the pupusa when I got home. Just refried beans. It was freshly made though since it took awhile to get it. The pupusas aren't on the menu in the cafe, but it is written on the board outside. It came with a bag of mild salsa and a bag veggies on the side. Overall, I've had better pupusas on the Mission and would skip this. A decent neighborhood spot to grab a quick bite if in the area!

There's something about this hotel that just doesn't feel cold or transactional--it feels welcoming. A huge part of that is the front desk team, especially Grace and Eva. After a long day of work, being greeted by people who are genuinely upbeat, warm, and attentive makes a real difference. They consistently go above and beyond, whether it's helping with directions, recommending great places to dine or shop, or just making sure everything feels seamless during my stay. What really stands out is that they offer the kind of thoughtful, personalized guidance you usually only get at a five-star resort--essentially complimentary concierge service, and done with sincerity. They are truly perfect hosts. Kudos to whoever hired and trained these gems. Grace and Eva are a big reason this hotel stands out, and why I always look forward to staying here.

Good natural light from the window, and the room felt quiet at night, which matters. Breakfast was included and decent. Waffles, muffins, yogurt, coffee -- simple but enough to start the day. Not gourmet, but consistent with the brand. Coffee was fresh, which is key. Gym was a plus. Not huge, but had the basics: cardio machines, weights, clean space. You can get a real workout in, not just a token "fitness room." Cleanliness overall was solid. Bathroom was tidy, common areas looked maintained. No issues there. Service was straightforward. Staff polite, check-in and check-out smooth, no friction. Only downside -- it's very "standard." No personality, no standout feature. You know exactly what you're getting. 4/5. Reliable, clean, comfortable. Good for a short stay, business trip, or passing through.

The calamari was typical, though the horseradish sauce was stand out. The Louie salad was nice and light and the crab tasted fresh and authentic, unadulterated with mayo. The show stopper was THE BURGER! Oh my word, that burger was melt-in-your-mouth good. It was HUGE (more than enough for two people by itself), flavorful, cooked to absolute perfection. The bacon was thick, flavorful, and juicy. The caramelized onions and mushrooms were a beautiful and welcome addition. This place is pick up only and parking can be a bit of a pain. It's also cash only. It looks a little dirty and tight inside, but can't complain since the food is so cheap. There's a few minutes of wait time after your order is placed, but not complaints with how fast they move. I've also seen them handle phone orders. I usually get the jumbo fried quarter leg chicken silog, which comes with garlic rice, egg, and pineapple chunks. The chicken is a bit bland but it does come with sauce. I also added a few slices of spam for a few more bucks. Next time I'd love to try the HK style pork chop and baby bangus. A solid place for a cheap meal!
