I did the halibut basket and subbed out the fries for a cup of clam chowder. 3 halibut filets, not too heavy a batter. Really good fish. The chowder was more like a clam soup. Not many clams pieces in it, no potatoes really. Maybe this is authentic for this part of country. All in with tip, about $50 pp. Look for it on Coos Bay boardwalk.

You order and pay at the counter, they give you a table number, and then you bus your dishes afterwards. My personal favorites are their clam chowder, fish tacos (with the cilantro sauce), oyster po boy, and garlic shrimp. I think about their oyster po boy a lot. The oysters are perfectly fried and the sandwich had a great balance of veggies to oyster to bread ratio. They are very generous with the portion so it's kind of hard to eat the sandwich at first, but that is the opposite of a problem.

I ordered everything for pick up and when I got to my moms home which.. port Orford is 2 whole miles wide, so I took me about 3 whole minutes, I realized they did not poke any holes in the box the shrimp was in and all of the battered shrimp was soggy and disgusting. The fish tacos, same, soggy mushy falling apart and disgusting. The fish itself was soggy and not crispy. The tortilla was all the way disintegrating at this point and upon picking the taco up the entirety of it fell out the hitting when the tortilla completely fell apart. $60+ of food. What the fuck. You'd think when you pride yourself as a seafood place and offer food to go, you'd understand how to properly package the food so it withholds a 3 minute drive home. It makes me realize it would've been NO different had I eaten there. Do not waste your money on this hole in the wall "seafood" place that claims shrimp cocktail is battered fried shrimp with fries. FYI; shrimp cocktail is steamed or boiled, not battered and fried, and served with cocktail sauce and a wedge of lemon. Also they claim to have salads.. but when trying to order a salad, sorry.. no salads. Lmfao. On a positive note we loved the setting, great vibe and wonderful service. We also had great cocktails, the Veneto was amazing. However, when the appetizers came out we were so very disappointed. We had the meatballs and fried burrata. It at first looked like the meatballs had this odd coating on it. But it was just that they were so overcooked and burnt. You literally needed a knife to cut them open and once open they were so dry I couldn't eat anymore. So I was hopeful that the fried burrata would be better. However, it was also over cooked on the outside. But once past the coating the burrata and bread was very good. Our main course came next. We both had the lasagna which came with a small salad that was very light and tasty. The pasta sauce was excellent and full of meat and the portions were very large. Lastly we had dessert and it was the star of the meal. We had a lemon pastry/cake that was delightful. Overall, we were disappointed with the appetizers. But the entrees were very good and dessert was just delightful. We will return to give it another go and hope that our first experience with the appetizers was just a one-off.

Holy moly! Some of the BEST fish and chips I've had in a LONG time!…read more If you ever find yourself in Bandon, Oregon, you definitely need to make a stop at Bandon Fish Market! This cute little place is located right by the pier, and let me tell you, it was BUSY and POPPIN'! LOL! But after tasting their food, I can understand why! The concept is pretty simple. Place your order, grab your food, and find yourself a spot to enjoy it. There's a small indoor seating area, or you can head outside and enjoy your meal right along the pier with beautiful views of the water. Now, here's a little tip! Depending on the weather, that coastal wind can make outdoor dining a little challenging. You can always take your food back to your car, but there's also another enclosed seating area along the pier where you can sit inside, look out over the water, and enjoy the scenery without fighting the wind. Pretty cool! Now, let's talk about the FISH! I ordered the regular fish and cod, and since we were dining together, we got to share and sample some of the other selections, including the ling and salmon. And WOW! Their fried fish is on a completely different level! I'm not exaggerating when I say this was hands down some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. I loved being able to try the different varieties, and every bite reminded me why fresh seafood on the Oregon coast is such a treat! I really enjoyed the whole experience. Nothing overly fancy, just a cute, bustling little fish market serving up some seriously delicious seafood in a wonderful coastal setting. Would I come back? ABSOLUTELY! In fact, Bandon Fish Market would be one of my first stops if I were visiting the area again. Come hungry, bring your appetite, and don't be afraid to try different kinds of fish. And if the weather cooperates, grab yourself a spot along the pier and enjoy the view! Seriously, those fish and chips were THAT GOOD!
