Very busy location outside of the food court area. Friendly fast service. No seating area. High variety menu options including halo halo!
@fortunefoodfinds: "You're a sweet-TEA! A Mango Matcha Fresh Milk under the New Matcha Series from Sharetea at Ala Moana. Trying this during mango season, gave me a "treat yo' self" reason!" Staff: friendly Exterior: outside stand across The Lanai, when waiting to order you're in the line of traffic Wait time: 5 mins Parking: garage Overall: mango puree was more on the sweeter side. I've had a lot of matcha lattes from various places n' would rate this a 4 out of 5
Omg, a Sharetea! Located in the Ala Moana Center, it's all the way at the end of this huge open-air shopping mall down in Honolulu. And when I say it's at the end, it really is right at the end, and wedged into a small corner of the mall away from all the action in the main center walking area. It's just a small stand, so there's no seating in the area, so definitely a grab and go kind of spot. Though, there are several food court areas in Ala Moana, so you could always take it to any one of those areas if need be. Price wise, it's on par with everything else drink wise you would find in this mall, as there's also numerous other boba places scattered in this large shopping area. The menu at this Sharetea does seem to be a bit more condensed than what I'm used to, but they had all of the basics so no complaints. Probably due to the kiosk offering it's hard to have the full menu available here. The drinks here are alright. I do feel that boba wise it was on the spot compared to all the other Shareteas I've been to, but the flavoring for the drinks seem to be a bit more on the blander side here. Don't quite get the same flavoring I typically get from my drinks from Sharetea. However, solid place to grab a boba, particularly if you're planning to walk this huge mall that offers a variety of shopping, food, and entertainment options.
While attending a graduation dinner at Ala Moana Hotel last weekend, the emcee warned guests that Ala Moana Center is surveying people who park at the mall and attend events at Ala Moana Hotel. There are cameras to document such incidents and violators will be ticketed. Furthermore, the desserts at the buffet line were not appealing to me and to satisfy my sweet tooth, I suggested to favorite niece by default to go to Sharetea and grab a milk tea after dinner. This would offset my parking at the mall to attend the dinner at Ala Moana Hotel. Located on the 2F just next to Macy's, this is one of three Sharetea locations in Hawaii. This Ala Moana location opened in October 2021. Sharetea hails from Taiwan and started business in 1992 and now has over 400 locations globally. I pretty much had my mind set on their classic milk tea. They close at 9pm and I was shocked to have seen a line of over 5 people when we arrived just before 830pm. We waited patiently for our turn as there were just 2 staff taking and making drink orders. In addition to my class milk tea, favorite niece by default got the grapefruit honey lemonade with crystal boba and we also got a peach oolong tea with aiyu jelly for favorite nephew by default who was still at work. Thought of surprising him with the drink when he got home after work. After paying, we waited patiently and to our dissatisfaction, there was a homeless male who walked up to all Sharetea patrons waiting for either their drink orders or waiting to order asking for money as he was hungry. I was tempted to give him money but ended up not doing so. I stood next to my niece to ensure her safety and not getting harassed as she also declined to give money. Eventually our drinks were ready so we walked back to the counter to confirm our drinks, quickly snapped a few photos and walked back to our cars. It was now just before 9pm and there was still a line of people waiting to order and a bunch of people waiting for their drinks to be made. Impressive. THE VERDICT: Sharetea is my favorite place to get the classic milk tea because of its distinct brewed tea flavor and consistency. I intentionally chose 30% sweet and it was just the right amount of sweetness for me. Niece took a sip of my milk tea and also gave my drink a thumbs up. Previously, I've been patronizing Sharetea's Kahala location. I also tried my niece's grapefruit honey lemonade and it was absolutely delicious. It had complex flavors of sour, sweet, tart and a slight bitterness that woke up my palate. I'd order this in a heartbeat as it was that good. Service was average. The staff looked overworked and lacked friendly customer service as it was probably a long day for them. We tried to order some drinks and add toppings only to be advised they were sold out. Despite the lack of items and staff enthusiasm, I still threw in $5 to their tip jar. I also work part time in the food industry and can understand what the staff endure being on their feet and handling customers with limited staff. It's hard work and staff are often not appreciated. My bill including food the tip on this visit: almost $28. Somewhat pricey but then this is the mall. I did find this location to be quite dark despite their bright light fixtures. Would be better and perhaps safer should more lighting be added either by Sharetea or Ala Moana Center. Overall, a decent first experience at this Ala Moana location and will return for a cold drink. I'm a creature of habit who rarely deviates from my ordering but that grapefruit honey lemonade was exceptional. 2024 #60
Refreshing beverages in Honolulu, Hawaii... This location of Sharetea is on the Mall Level of Ala Moana Center, between Macy's and The Lanai (food court). HOPA (House of Pure Aloha) shave ice used to be here. The other two locations of Sharetea (on the Island of Oahu) are at Waimalu Plaza Shopping Center and the shopping center next to Kahala Mall - the one with McDonald's and Jersey Mike's Subs. This Ala Moana location is basically a takeout counter. Seating is open-air nearby or at The Lanai next door. I got two drinks: Strawberry Mojito and Hawaii Fruit Tea with Aiyu jelly. Both drinks were on the sweet side even though I asked for half sweet. The Strawberry Mojito would be better without the lime rinds. There were tiny bits and larger pieces - both sizes were bitter. LOL! I scooped the bigger pieces out with a spoon when I got home. The Hawaii Fruit Tea was tasty because it had orange, pineapple, and grapefruit puree in it - according to their website. I would return because the location is convenient, and there's a Loyalty Points program.
I came here yesterday after lunch with Auntie and my hubby. Auntie ordered the Strawberry Mojito $7.40 and Hawaii Fruit Tea $7.50. My hubby and I shared the Tiger Milk Boba $7.60. The Tiger Milk Boba was ok. It just had fresh milk, brown sugar and boba. The milk was really strong, so I take it that they use one with a heavier base. Auntie drank her Strawberry Mojito and it had bits of lime in there. She said that the rind was really bitter. Maybe they should cut the lime into bigger pieces so that it doesn't fit through the straw. The prices are a little higher here compared to some other milk tea spots at the mall.
Friendly, fast service. Delicious boba drinks with extra things inside like fruit and ice cream. My kids loved it! They tried a lychee ice cream boba and I tried a taro mango boba I think? They were bomb!
It's a stand alone kiosk. Seems popular, there was a line 3-4 people deep every time I looked. I finally wanted to leave Ala Moana and stood in line. The line moved quickly even though there were only two people working: one on register and the other making drinks. I ordered the coffee and asked if there were alternative milks, it was explained to me that all their milk is alternative except for the drinks which specify whole milk. I said ok, a zero sweet milk coffee. When I got it, it was ok. The coffee doesn't really come through. I mean it tastes like coffee but really weak. Then I remembered the "non-dairy" used in places like this is basically the powdered palm oil chemical mix crud that creamer powder is made from. Yuck. So I kind of blew money on a large coffee that didn't have a strong coffee flavor probably filled with palm oil and chemicals. I didn't want it so I went straight to Don Quixote and got a real oat milk cappuccino there. Giving it two to three stars as that's what it would have gotten before I remembered what the "non-dairy" was probably made with.
This is pretty good. Went 1 hour before closing. The boba was nice and flavourful while still being soft. I can taste the tea, but I think it could be stronger. Still, the overall taste is acceptable, and the service was friendly and fast. The weather was drizzling, so I do wish it wasn't a booth. It was loud because of the music playing from the mall.
Located at the Ala Moana Center, Sharetea is a good place to grab a refreshing drink. Lots of combinations to choose from or order. They make it all right in front of you. The store is clean and the service is quick! read more

Located next to macys on the second floor, they were busy both times we walked by so we decided to give it a try. Ordered the mango tea and the black tea creama. The mango tea I had asked without sweetness and with jelly it was pretty sweet. My husband got the black tea creama and I was pleasantly surprised. I wish they didn't have the coffee with a straw because it is best sipped with a little cream and a little tea. It reminded me of a nai gai tea we used to get in Charleston. The taste was so good. read more

A bit of a let down here. This is a new boba place in Ala Moana outside of Macy's. Since it just opened, I had to give it a try! First, the service. When I went there, there was a guy and a girl working... the guy was very friendly, greeted me and offered to answer any questions I had. The girl was not as friendly, and she is the one that took my order. Second, the drinks. I got two. First, the Oreo Ice Blended with pearl. It was ok, but for the amount of calories it has (as shown on the menu) it wasn't super tasty. Not bad, just ok. Boba was ok, but also not the greatest. Overall, just very meh. Second, the Strawberry Ice Blended with lychee jelly and ice cream was a fail. The girl asked are you ok with the ice cream on top? Hmm, what option do I have? On the bottom with my jelly? In a separate cup? Not knowing, I just said yes. Then when I get the drink, from bottom to top it's jelly, blended drink, and ice cream. So I ask for a spoon to so I can eat the ice cream. The girl tells me, we don't have spoons. Ok, undeterred I end up jabbing the scoop of ice cream with the straw to eat it (or drink it I guess you could say, lol). Just an odd drink. I've had slushy floats before, but this was just not that. Also, the ice cream was a double edged sword! It was a pain to deal with, but it tasted better than the drink or the jelly. The jelly was harder than I expected too. Overall, just not the greatest drinks or experience. For the strawberry drink, maybe blending the ice cream into the drink would be better, however, I'm not sure if that would throw off the taste of the blended strawberry part. As much as I understand everyone is different, both drinks I had just need fine tuning to be improved. read more

They are located next to Macy's across the Lanai. Like other tea places, this is another. However, they do not have a gazillion options which I kinds like so it's easier to make a decision. I've gone 2 times and it seems to go smoother each time. Newer staff look at what appears to be directions for each item. The 2nd time I went the staff seemed to know the menu and my order came much quicker. You can adjust ice amount, sweetness and your add-on's. Staff is always friendly. My daughter has gone 5x already and prefers this place in the mall as opposed to others there. They are what I feel is on the pricier side given they are located at the mall. Note that matcha as opposed to just green tea will always be extra though not notated on their menu. Pricing ranges from $6 and up. The shaken drinks are the priciest but come with a scoop of ice cream on top. The matcha milk tea is earthy but light. I get 50% sweet. They are not as thick as some others like The Alley and you do get imo more for your buck. The kid always gets mango green tea w lychee jelly. read more

The day has come - Sharetea is now open at the Ala Moana mall! Sharetea has been my go-to boba shop for years both on the mainland and here in Hawaii as they have been one of the most consistent in quality (drink, toppings, etc). I pretty much like everything on the menu, but I'll usually switch between the QQ Happy Family (milk tea with all the toppings - best bang for your buck), a fruit tea, or an ice blended drink (especially when it's hot out). The boba is chewy and how boba should always taste lol. I find that a lot of other boba shop drinks are too sweet or milky, but Sharetea's drinks are well balanced. I still usually adjust my sweetness and ice levels though (usually 50% sweetness). Price is also reasonable given that they are one size only (considered a large at most places). You can easily find Sharetea on the second floor where Uncle Clay's shave ice stand used to be (near Macy's and the Lanai food court). There is plenty of parking at the mall. Service here is fast and staff were very friendly. Overall, I definitely recommend making a quick stop at Sharetea if you're in the area, shopping at the mall, or have not tried it yet! read more

Hey Iris,…
I haven't been to Ala Moana in so long since the beginning of the pandemic and so many changes has happened. Where Sharetea is now is where the old mochi donut place used to be across from the Lanai. I'm always down for boba no matter what and insisted my husband that we gotta go try. The line wasn't too bad and the service was quick. The menu is also straight to the point so you're in and out and on with your day. The aesthetic of this little shop is so cuteee. I ordered the classic milk tea and my husband wanted to spice it up and got the strawberry ice blended with lychee and ice cream. Both tasted greattttt. My milk tea was so smooth, creamy but not super thick nor decadent. The tapioca pearls were so soft and chewy. It was perfection. My husband's fancy drink was like a blast from the past. It reminded us of a strawberry icee float, essentially that's practically what it was, just fancier lol. Surprisingly it wasn't overly sweet, it was just right. Overall it was nice experiencing something new! I feel like you can't go wrong with everything else on their menu. Will definitely be back if I'm in the area or even go to their Aiea location too. read more

Happy to have a taste of the mainland here at another location. The tea I had was good, blended and refreshing for the summer. The milk tea was more bitter on the tea side then my friends thought. And unfortunately at the time they were out of mojito flavors. The drink wasn't the most consistently blended but the topping tasted good across the board. read more

They have recently opened their stand next to Macys and across from THE LANAI formally where the famous shaved ice sadly the pandemic closed their shop. The Share Tea located very convenient going to our parked cars and or drink it inside of the food court. I highly recommend Share Tea...the staff are friendly and pleasant that makes my day a great experience to visit there every time I'm there! My first time there I ordered Black Milk Tea with bubbles and sweetness 30%. My Second time I ordered their Hot Classic Black Tea 30% sweetened ~ to my delight it was the best tea I had! I'm a collector for loose black tea leaves not much into tea bags. On our next visit I had the same hot tea with milk. My hubby drank it just to taste but instead he liked so much he drank it all so I had to buy my own cup. They also have winter melon tea in which on my next visit to Ala Moan SC I'll definitely get. I hope they open more outlets in the near future! read more

Mmmmm. I am a huge bubble tea fan. Nom nom. The QQ Happy Family Milk Tea- less ice 50% sweet is what I got. I'm usually a black milk tea kind of girl. I tried something new this time. Its fruity taste with brown sugar and black tea was delicious. Go get some boba and get your shopping on. read more

There are many Boba Tea's to choose from on Oahu. This is one that I would not recommend. Cailey was working that day, and she was very rude and did not have knowledge of the menu. She said they do not have matcha green tea blended, but there is a large poster with a picture of it right in front of the window. Also, I wanted Bulba and pudding, but she said there could only be one topping. That does not make sense if you are paying. Bad management or training. Suppose their policy is OK, but treat your customers with respect. I spent $44 for a family of 6. Go somewhere else, and I guarantee it will be better. read more

They always let me do less ice on the mojito but this time they didn't let me.. literally NOTHING but ice. I felt like I've been scammed cuz I didn't get to drink anything. Please let us adjust the ice levels, because the amount of ice they put in there is just insane. read more

I had a fresh milk tea with boba. I can't really feel the tea in it. It did not smell any tea also. Its more like I'm drinking a cup of milk and boba. I was excited to try out since it was new store just opening not too long ago. Its just not for me. read more

Located near Macy's in Ala Moana, Sharetea serves as a convenient pick-me-up on a sweltering day. Tried the strawberry ice blended with lychee jelly and ice cream, which was efficiently prepared and ready with minimal wait time. Note: you cannot adjust the sweetness level for this drink, and they'll also ask whether you'd like the ice cream on the bottom or on top. read more

Finally a new boba spot to try out in the Alamona area! The oolong milk tea is pretty standard, can't mess it up. It is on the lighter side, but maybe that's because I got my milk tea 80% sweet (less sweet). The boba was a bit plasticy, if you know what I mean. My drink was $7 after tip and that's a bit on the pricier end of boba drinks. I would come here again to try their other drinks but definitely not somewhere I would go to get my weekly boba fix. read more

First time trying this spot and also trying milk tea! I was pleasantly surprised and I'm so glad I finally tried it. I got the milk tea with boba and crema and my friend got the strawberry tea with crema. We both liked our drinks a lot, my friend shared that the strawberry tea was refreshing. The milk tea was rich and creamy and is very filling and the boba were a little tough compared to other boba I've had, but overall it was a nice little treat while walking around the mall. Will try this spot again! read more
