The best organic coffee in the country!…read more I have tried a lot of different coffees from all over the country, and I can say without a doubt that Indigo Coffee is by far the best organic coffee I've ever had. Their commitment to organic, single-origin freshly roasted beans really shows in the quality. I'm particularly a fan of their medium/dark roasts, the flavor profiles are incredible and works perfectly in my espresso grinder! Beyond the product, their customer service is amazing; they truly take the time to help you find the perfect roast for your specific taste. Even though I'm in Arizona, my orders always ship incredibly fast. I buy a lot of beans so it's nice they have a wholesale option for me. But they also offer a retail coffee ordering experience. I would love to go into their shop someday!!! Thank you Indigo!

A breakfast sandwich seemed appropriate and when I saw a hot honey sandwich my ears perked up and thought that would be a good choice. Only have had hot honey on my pizza and now I want to go get a bottle to put on my eggs. It is quite the cozy spot. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly and appreciative of my business too. Will be popping back in at some point. I will have to take a closer look at the drink menu as one of the beverages the lady was describing to someone made me almost want to get up and get one myself. Something with toast and marshmallows. Either way, good spot to come to off of Boston Road.

For a café with more serving space than cooking space, you'd think they couldn't pack a punch, but…read morethey do. The café here, West Street Coffee & Tea, uses their square footage to pack a few tables, and a bookshelf or two with possibly the proprietor's gifted collection for customers to read. The West Street Coffee & Tea helps you feel at home stopping in for some coffee, a selection of a quick breakfast sandwich, a pastry from the bakery across the parking lot, or some other treat. I have enjoyed a quality and consistency of service, not only filling out punches on my loyalty card, but appreciating both my drinks and my meal. The kitchen staff has served me quickly when they are not my talented cashier and barista as well--though do consider this a compliment worth tipping the staff for their ability to know how to run a café in part or in whole. The West Street Coffee & Tea boasts a humble parking lot, but the sizable line of parking spaces allows cars to park and then usually drive forward to depart. This fits that the five to six tables are set well in each of the rooms they rest, with ample light from the interior and exterior. I could imagine the drink staff would keep up with a variety of orders that are park and departing, so be mindful that there is parking at other corners of the plaza rotary on busy hours like at other restaurants within Amherst. Busses do travel by, and I'd suppose those from the PVTA that go between Amherst and Hampshire might even stop here. For a quite accessible location, I can only imagine they enjoy being a secret delight of this area of south and east Amherst.

We had our pup with us, so spots where we could sit down were even more limited, but luckily, a lunch at Familiars was only a very long line away. While the group waited outside at one of the sidewalk tables, I went inside to order at the counter. I got the chicken salad sandwich and have to say I was so surprised by how delicious it was. I'm not from here, so from just the outside and where you order, I thought they were a cafe first with food options, but nope. Definitely wrong, they make a great sandwich. And the coffees were also delicious! Baristas and team were all friendly, the space inside was very cool, cozy and comfortable and they had plenty of outside tables as well. You order at the counter and they will bring all of the food out to you, you also grab your own waters inside. A nice mix of casual and service. If I was local or visiting when I needed a space to bring my laptop and get some remote work done, this seems like a great option.

My least favorite thing about this sandwich was that it was incredibly dry, you really need the coffee to wash it all down. It had so many elements that should have been moist but all were overcooked so it was just not a $9.00 sandwich. The coffees were delicious. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was sweet and creamy and not too bitter nor too sweet, right in that perfectly balanced spot. My wife got a hot mocha which was chocolatey and yummy, she just wished it had stayed warmer in this cold Massachusetts climate. The coffee price was comparable to what we pay at coffee shops in Seattle. The service was quick and there were lots of different kinds of tables to sit at inside.
