This will forever be my favorite coffee shop on the planet. I lived in Massachusetts for about 2 years, and was in search for a coffee shop as I love coffee. I've never been to a place with such a friendly staff and a wide variety of coffee and food before. If I had to pick my favorite thing about this shop, it's the staff. Me and my boyfriend became regulars at this shop, and they always treated us with a big smile, asked how our weeks have been, and just over all seemed to genuinely care about us as customers and people. They would always be so excited to show us the new season menus, as we always tried the whole menu when it came out; they always wanted our opinions on the coffee. I buy my coffee beans from this shop, even still now that I don't live in Massachusetts anymore. If you're looking for a coffee shop in Amherst, this is definitely the best around. read more

Recently stopped by for a quick breakfast at Futura's and this is definitely a North Amherst hidden gem! This menu was very varied (there's something for everyone) and it definitely enticed me to go back for more! The breakfast sandwich I got was the Chipotle breakfast sandwich (forgot the exact name) and it was very tasty and filling. The price point is definitely a bit high so be prepared to spend if you're coming with multiple people, but I do appreciate the variety of coffees and teas available. The servers and baristas were very sweet and helpful when guiding me during my first visit there. If you're looking for a quiet coffee shop to get some work done, this is definitely worth a try. I didn't get to try any of the pastries but I will definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu! 4 stars just because of the high price point, but the quality of the items is very good. read more

This is. THE BEST. Coffee shop. I have EVER come across. They have an AMAZING staff that is very competent, kind, and obviously LOVE coffee. They have the best seasonal drinks-- and they take great care in making them well designed, unique, and balanced. The food: superb. I would frequent the salmon bagel and the egg/cheese... but truly it is all amazing. Never have I been more appreciative of a cafe staff. Such a super cute shop. So happy I was able to stop in. It's for a beautiful clean aesthetic that compliments its amazing coffee. It has a huge dining space with natural light allowing you to work from the coffee shop. The coffee perfectly roasted and the temperature of my mocha was perfect. Great coffee shop just north of the UMASS campus in the Mill District. The menu is terrific as well: I had the egg, bacon and cheese on their Portuguese roll; my wife had the open face egg bacon and cheese on an English muffin. Paired with a matcha latte aka the green frog. Service was quick and the shop had a great vibe between the young and old. read more

** 4.5 STARS ** Parking: Ample parking and extremely simple since Futura shares the same plaza with other businesses. Could foresee the parking lot being crowded mid-morning (~10 AM) on weekends. Service (5/5): I've been here twice and both times the workers have been very helpful in regards to answering questions about the menu. [Side note: Matcha here is not a pre-made powder, they do hand whisk matcha in a bowl which is a +1.] They have a seasonal menu, and the workers were kind enough to let me sample their housemade syrups before deciding on a drink. Space (5/5): Great space to study! (Depending on how early you arrive, usually arriving 30 minutes- 1 hour after they open has given me better chances at securing seating on the weekends.) There are tables that are directly located next to outlets which makes it convenient to charge devices. Other tables that are not directly located to an outlet have an extension cord next to them. There is a large communal table in the middle of the shop for large parties. One aspect I love about this coffee shop versus others in the Western Massachusetts area is the open concept which allows for natural sunlight to come into the shop. Food + Drinks [They have a breakfast menu & bakery items for sale.] Iced Chai Latte (3.75/5): Not too strong of a chai flavor, it was more milky than I would have liked, which watered down the taste of the chai once the ice started to melt. If you enjoy a light cinnamon/spice flavor, I would recommend getting the chai! Breakfast Sandwiches (4/5): Very dependent on your filling preference but I 100% recommend getting the Portuguese muffin as the bread. Once grilled, the Portuguese muffin retains a nice crunch that compliments the softer/saucier fillings of breakfast sandwiches. Overall, an excellent option to study at or frequent for hours, as other Yelpers have mentioned due to how peaceful the shop is. read more

Absolutely my favorite place and has become a happy place of mine. I genuinely feel the best in the area. The ambience and atmosphere is so warm and lovely. It is bright while simultaneously chill and relaxing. Never feel cramped in or packed in like sardines. The service is excellent. The staff are all so nice and are joy to be around. I have become a regular and there is a sense of community with the staff and other fellow patrons. Most importantly, the coffee is amazing. I haven't had a bad drink. The coffee is flavorful whether hot or chilled. Whether plain or with milk. I love right from the beginning I could have alternative milk such as oat even with my lattes. read more
