    chicken adobo sammich

Visited this food truck way too many times over the course of 2021 (to the point that they just knew me by name), and I can't believe I didn't write a single review about how great they are! This is a Filipino inspired food truck and they have the comforting and delicious flavours that all Filipino dishes boast. I've had just about anything I can on the menu (unfortunately no pork, but DO NOT WORRY, for all my friends absolutely love Shameless buns' spam sammies and I trust their opinion 10000%) and everything tastes fantastic. I recommend grabbing the happy ending toast too, because it's absolutely delicious, so why wouldn't you? And make sure to grab all the sauces they offer, because like I said, everything they have tastes good. On top of the original food truck, they opened an actual restaurant, which I had the pleasure of visiting way too many times (again, I'm obsessed, can you tell?) and the food there is identical to the food truck (in terms of taste). I highly highly recommend either catching the food truck at the local farmer's market or visiting the restaurant and trying out the fare, it is soooooo worth it.

The address for Shameless on Yelp led us on a city tour. It is actually on Fraser Street, south of 41st Street. Shameless got all the right stuff(?) Hip place. Lines. Neon sign. The food is umami flavoured. Smart idea to mix traditional Philippine cooking with western fast food. Would give it 5 stars for the ambiance 5 stars for the flavour. 2 stars for the value. 2 stars for service. As the cashier got angry with me for not ordering the sides when learned nothing was gluten-free. Again, my partner opted out. The size of the Tapa Dat Bun is deceptively huge looking but it is actually the size of a White Castle or McDonald's hamburger. So not huge for 11$. Ok if you factor in novelty effect how delicious it was. Service-wise I was belittled for wanting to order something healthy for my partner. Get outta here, we only serve tasty food here! She also forgot our drink orders and insIsted I did not pay for them. She had to pull up the receipt to say oh yeah you did. This is a solid 3 and 1/2 stars. Could easily be a 4 or 5, if it had healthier alternatives, devoid of attitude and more tolerant of others. So so.

Finally got a chance to try this food truck and it did not disappoint. A criss-cross of east-west street food cuisine and exceuted very well. We tried their classic signature adobo fries, garnished with green onions, fresh tomatoes and fried bits, drizzled all over with mayo. It was dangerously addictice as once you start, you don't want to stop eating. The flavours blend together extremely well, fresh and rich at the same time. Make sure you get their homemade dipping sauces on the side for even more flavour. Their tangy spicy sauce is dynamite. For an even guiltiest pleasure, you can also try the spaghetti lumpia. Seasoned spaghetti neatly packaged in a deep fried spring roll wrapping, giving it a crispy exterior but a rich yet still correctly cooked pasta on the inside. Not for the faint of heart because it is slightly greasy and definitely not keto-friendly, but it is damn delishious. Perfect hangover food. I love the fact the pasta spring roll was ginormous. Will be back to try their sandwiches, which look amazing as well.

Yum! Got to try out this food truck a few weeks ago and opted for something sweet. Was very pleased with the happy ending ($12). French toast with Ube, milo, coconut macapuno, condensed milk. A very nice Filipino dessert!

Sausage party fries, sausage sandwich and adobo sandwich

I was able to try Shamless Buns food truck at the Port Moody Farmer's market this weekend. I've heard a lot about them and I was not disappointed. Sausage party fries were delicious with a good amount of tocino and longanisa! Very flavorful too. I asked what their best seller and their best sandwich overall. Their best seller was the adobo pulled pork sandwich which was great as well. I preferred the sausages sandwich which is their best overall. I recommend you get both if you are not familiar with Filipino flavors. Enjoyed this food truck and can't wait to try more. Service was fast and they were very kind and willing to answer any questions. I received my order in under 10 minutes.

Shamelessly delightful. Recently discovered these wonderful folks @shamelessbuns thanks to @sheshenee and now I'm addicted to this Filipino food truck! They serve up fresh buns, fries, and other goodies as they roam around the city. Bonus? Cunning names for their dishes I've tried their Sausage Party ($16) which comes with a sexy egg, delicious with their sinigang fries! The sweet sausage contrasts so well with the tangy fries. This time we also had their Sir Spam-a-lot ($10) sandwich which is available with fries upgrade for $5 (it was complimentary this time, thank you so much ) such a simple combination but oh so delicious!! Fili-pino Cheeze steak fries ($16) were the least of my favorites, but still quite hearty and good with the cheese and beef. I think it was cuz the beef was thin and a little on the dry side. Filipino Spaghetti Lumpia ($10) was a surprisingly delightful special dish (limited quantities and not always available!). Basically spaghetti and sausage in a spring roll wrap, but the crispy exterior added texture to the spaghetti. A little messy to consume but oh so worth it! Go catch these peeps at their next location, listed on their Instagram!

I noticed this truck on my way to the supermarket. This was the first time they stopped in my neighborhood. Since I am Filipino, I had to give it a try. It was awesome. I tried the "Not your Lola's Adobo" bun and the Fili-Pino Cheeze (Tapa) steak fries. For those that don't speak Filipino - "Lola" means "Grandma". The fries were super crispy. The Adobo and Tapa were very tasty. I also tried the Mango Chipotle sauce and it was really good and spicy. One word of caution: There is an overwhelming vinegary taste. This is great for me. I put vinegar on everything! But if you are not used to having a lot of vinegar, I can see how it can be a bit overwhelming. My only suggestion would be that it would be nice if there was a rice bowl option. The fries were good, but I think the Adobo or the Tapa would be great with a bowl rice as well. (I can't help it. I'm Filipino. I love rice!! :) )

Since we was in town, my sister wanted to try this place out. From looking at IG pictures, it was a must and we did. Arrived at noon on a Tuesday in front of Canada Place, the line was about 10 person deep and we waited about 20 mins to put our order in. Waited for about 20 more mins to get out food. Items orders: Adobo Fries: Crispy Fries with Chicken Adobo Fries was nice and crispy but the adobo flavor was not enough to call it adobo. All the toppings and sauce which had a sweet powder flavor that overwhelmed the meat flavors. Threesome: Choice of any three sandwich's Small sliders with just barely enough meat for a bite, not too much filling for the price you pay. Combo: Pandesal served with Sinigang Fries Pretty much the same taste as the adobo Fries, with the sweet powdery taste. I've tried it and probably won't try it again. Overall it's a 5 of 10.

Disappointed seems to be the overall theme. I love Filipino food and really want to support you guys, but each time I've tried, it's just been lack luster and disappointing. I understand that sometimes things happen, but as a food truck, you think there would be a backup plan or thought of what might go wrong. Sure, propane went down, given that it is essentially the lifeblood of a food truck, there should have been backup plans. Offering refunds and apologizing works, but how are people expected to support you when we can't even taste your food? Then people who ordered fries after me managed to get their fries, how does that even work when the propane is *supposedly* down? Also, I got shortchanged since I tipped on my full bill total ($32 + $3) but only got the listed price refunded for certain items ($24). Managed to try the chicken adobo sandwich (list as $8 but cost me $11) and that brings me back to the theme of my review - disappointing. Was not worth the $11 and 1.5 hour wait. I'm sure other factors played a part. The consulate really could have planned this better or picked a better location. I'm on the fence about trying the truck again or waiting it out for an actual brick-n-mortar shop. Perhaps I'll just stick with my go-to restaurants/cafes for my chicken adobo sandwich fix for now.

    Tapa Day Bun

Food was yummy and filling! I got the tapa bun and cheeze streak fries. The tapa bun looked small but and thought it wouldn't be enough. As I dug into it, it was loaded with meat and was filling. Nice flavour on both dishes, may have a been a tad salty. I loved the homemade banana ketchup too - partnered well with the fries. Also, not sure if they had free water available (only saw bottled - should have asked), but definitely would have come in handy. Beer on the menu would be great too lol. Other than that, I enjoyed the dishes. I'll come back to try everything else!

    Tita's sandwich combo.

Overall the food was tasty and unique. I order the tita's meatloaf sandwich. It was really good, the richness of the meatloaf and the tangy sour sauce was great. But the spam a lot was on point the egg was just perfect with he runny yolk. I would recommend dripping the egg yolk onto the fries and add some green onion on top, best thing ever. I would recommend anyone to try this place. The only negative feedback is the potion of the corn salad thing forgot what it's called. So good but the portion is a bit small.

Stumbled on this food truck in front of my office and decided to give them a try. I was worries a lot of the menu would be spicy so was unsure what to try. And then the cashier offered me a sample of their fries and I was sold! I ordered the Adobo Fries and they came absolutely loaded with goodies. The fries were crispy and full of flavour. And the chicken was plentiful and really moist. Hard to do on a good truck I think. Now I am stalking this truck on social media, wishing they were back downtown outside my office.

Omg! Shameless buns at the tradex in Abbotsford right now! If you haven't tried them before I urge you to! Had philly cheese stake sandwich fry combo it was to die for! The fries taste like salt and vinegar chips, the meat was melt in your mouth tender, toppings perfectly proportioned to the meat, the bun is super soft and there is a crisp element that brings a hint of sweet heat.

With a slight char on the BBQ pork which is what I enjoy when having skewers. Honestly the garlic- annato rice wasn't really worth it. I personally couldn't taste it over the sauce on either the BBQ pork or the chicken Inasal. And would have been happy with just regular rice. The lumpiang was meaty and everything I look for in a crispy spring roll. The dessert options area also great. Not sure if its seasonal but they had a slice of coconut (buko) pie in their fridge.
