Secret menu all day brunch combo
Stevey G.

Always amazing! My friends and I love this truck. Their menu has something for everyone but my go to dish is the fried chicken sandwich with egg and a side of tots. The staff is always friendly and you can feel good about supporting a small business. 10/10 would recommend checking them out. Look them up on Instagram for locations or Vancouver street food app.

I don't even know where to start with these guys... It all started one Friday night when I decided…read moreto stop at Steel and Oak for a beer after a long day. When I got there, my friend that works there told me that I HAVE to try a sandwich from the truck out back - this was followed by enthusiastic nods from many of the other staff and customers in the tasting room. I did not need much convincing as I was starving and good ole sammie sounded pretty damn good at that point. I headed out back and instantly noticed the sweet artwork of the truck. Once I gave myself a few moments to admire the wicked design, I turned my attention to the menu. Each sandwich sounded amazing, so it was a hard choice to make. I had my eye on the "Ya Mon", and Chris, the owner of the truck solidified this decision by explaining the unbelievable process they go through to make this sandwich as good as it is. That had made it impossible to say no. He rang my order through and told me to go enjoy my beer - he would bring the sandwich in when it was ready - That is pretty exceptional service for a food truck! As a first time customer, I felt valued and appreciated - something that goes a long way for me. For $12, any of these sandwiches are well worth the money - I could not even finish the damn thing - even though I really wanted to - it was SO DAMN GOOD! I have been back many a times since that night, and have tried the majority of the menu items. I have never had a bad experience - I don't want to say that each sandwich that I have tried has been better than the last, because they are all on par with one another - they are all exceptional. I do have to say, I think the Revolution is my current favorite though! From the fresh local ingredients, and awesome design, to the witty banter, and exceptional customer service - these guys have it all. You will not be disappointed with anything that you try from this truck, and the guys and girls that run the truck will make the experience more than worth it.

* The Definition of Torpedo *…read more Urban Dictionary has multiple definitions or "Torpedo": - To betray, backstab, diss, or punk someone with the intent of causing harm to their reputation. - When objects or people look beautiful from far away, but dangerous or ugly up close. - A long turd. The menu sounded promising (although overpriced for a food truck) with some nice classic sandwiches on offer. I ordered the "mumia" ($12) - which I have to assume is a play on Mumia Abu-Jamal who is from Philadelphia, home of the cheesesteak? Anyhoo... The description was very cheesesteak like with sirloin beef, pepperjack cheese, sauteed onions and peppers. The addition of garlic aioli moved away from the classic as did the usage of pepperjack instead of provolone. When I unwrapped the sandwich, I was torpedoed with an excessive amount of a watery oily substance dripping all over the place. It got all over everything - not in a good way. Biting into the sandwich was the next torpedoing. The bread was stale. I don't mean day old. I mean stale. Next torpedo: the beef was chewy, gristly, and very oily. The peppers were the best part - but they too were overly oily. Basically each bite gave you a mouthful of stale bread, a piece of oily gristle flavoured by an oily pepper and a drippy oily substance (perhaps a broken aioli?). I couldn't eat the bread. Tried picking off the meat and veggies to eat, but gave up as they were too awful on their own. Photos: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/tasty-torpedo-vancouver?select=aorGigi_39ldUheXPUynsQ#aorGigi_39ldUheXPUynsQ and http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/tasty-torpedo-vancouver?select=i8BEF8GCeNEZMql6nK1uYA#i8BEF8GCeNEZMql6nK1uYA So I'm left concluding that I was served an overpriced torpedo. In other words, I feel torpedoed that this food truck is a torpedo that serves torpedos!

La Bohème - Squash, feta, pesto crepe

They have a plethora of options both sweet and savoury but my money is on the squash crepe with pesto ,feta, fresh greens and more. Bringing elation to my soul I savour every delicious bite and it feels damn fine. Great flavour combinations and quality ingredients. As far as I know they are only available at the farmers markets, and the lineups are usually quite long in the summer at Trout Lake but you can luck out at the winter market at Nat Bailey stadium (like I did today), and only a few people were in line ahead of us. P.s. It's also a really good sign when a random stranger asks you where they can procure such fine eats after seeing the wrap in your hand.

Today, hanging out at Portobello West and getting peckish, I caved to the crave of crepes. Cranberry and brie with salad and a tangy vinegrette, it was easy to mow down on the whole, slightly messy, thing! I was torn with so many choices--fig and jam; garlicy eggplant and roasted red peppers just to name 2 of their 2 chalkboards full of goodness. Blasting "musique au Francais" (*this could be spelled wrong-haha) in his purpley-pink psychedelic van with 3 crepe pans a sizzling - it's definitely a high-class gourmet-food-stand experience!

The burger was great but the flavor of the beef was definitely a bit lacking. The chicken sandwich was my least favorite of the items I ordered, as the cutlet was rather small (I had the highest expectations, so maybe that contributed as well). The fries were amazing though -- I've gone since my first visit to get just the fries before. The sauce is lacking in the bottom but you can always re-up at the cart! The service is immaculate. Each time I've been served by someone else, and they have been nothing less than polite. Great local spot for a quick bite -- I'd take this over Japadog any day of the week.

I always get the regular hamburger as its a no frills burger that does the trick. It satisfies my burger cravings perfectly. The bun is toasted with butter on the grill. The patty isn't thick but they grill it so that there's a nice crust on it and it adds that extra chew and flavour. They give you a generous amount of ice burger lettuce which makes it refreshing and I'm a suckered for any burger with ketchup on it. This was the first time I got fries and they didn't disappoint. They weren't as crispy as I would have liked. But I loved the sauce and the addition of the Bonito flakes. These were crazy addicting Overall I would like to keep this a hidden gem but I'm sure everyone already knows about it. They show up either at Kerrisdale, river district, downtown or Olympic village. They update their Facebook page regarding their whereabouts everyday at 11am. If you want to catch them, you can check there

So I'm standing outside a Japanese / Hawaiian food truck eating Mexican tacos! How cool is that!? The braised beef is so tasty & the consomé so flavourful! You just won't stop dipping before every bite! It gets messy so ask for extra napkins! I'm hooked on these Birria tacos & will have to try their other items! Yelpies remember this is a food truck so it's rotating all over town weekly. I got to experience it down here at Joyce Skytrain Station. The Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp Fries was one of a kind. The sweet and tangy sauce was actually a very interesting and nice pairing to the fries. The shrimp was bouncy and not overcooked. The Mango Chicken Hero had very snappy and juicy sausage, and the tropical element was a great touch. The hot dog bun had tremendous flavour as well. Very satisfied! The Quesa Birria Tacos was the best thing of the bunch. A MUST try item! Juicy meat fillings with all the fixings, the fresh tortilla was pan fried nicely so it had nice crispness, and the secret weapon, a hearty meat jus, elevated this dish to another level. The Japanese Popcorn Chicken had a lovely crunch in the coating and seasoned so well. A really wonderful meal!
