We've been there a few times for lunch and every time we've been there I've been so impressed by Juan Medina, this individual is courteous, kind, understanding and so very helpful and is there to cater to your needs. He is a MAN of INTEGRITY and is always willing to be of service. I was so impressed I actually spoke with the manager who is also very courteous, about Juan Medina. Shakey's used to have such good memories for us. My mom absolutely loved them. Lately the quality and service has gone down hill. We ordered food online for my husband to pick up. An online order can only be placed if it is paid for at the time you place the order. When my husband arrived to pick up the order, the girl at the register confirmed the order and then Charged him! My husband was not aware that it had been paid already since he was not with me when the order was placed. So he paid it. After the credit card was charged the girl then realized it was already paid for. The manager (Antonio) explained to my husband that the charge could not be canceled because it was an online order. That the info would be sent to corporate office and the charge would be reversed after 3 days. WTF! I called to speak to manager, who said his name was Antonio, and let him know that this is completely unacceptable. He apologized and said that this happens often with their online orders! WHAT?1. How is not corrected?! How is it that everyone who works the register is not aware that the online orders are paid for up front! Sounds like a scam to me! You have been warned! read more

Today I had a good experience with Robyn and our the gentleman that picked up our plates. Robyn was so attentive and my 2year old loved the pizza his preference is cheese and she informed us when it was ready. This Shakeys is outstanding! We ordered thru an app. for DELIVERY$$$ pan pizza pepperoni and pineapple it was FANTASTIC! I knew when the driver handed it to me it was heavy and it just got better after that :) best pizza we've had in a very long time. We took a chance and tried this location and it was worth it! The bunch of lunch is our go-to! I suggest getting there a little before noon because they do get super crowded but makes sense as to why. It's so good and soo worth every penny. They have multiple pizza options always cycling through and always filling the pasta and fried chicken religiously so it's fresh! Make sure to ask for hot sauce for the fried chicken. I'd say it's one of the best fried chicken options in Glendale. I do wish the salad bar had a mixed fruit option, would be a nice addition. They have everything from Mac and cheese to dessert pizza/pastry puffs. Can't wait to come again soon. About $26 for 2 people. read more

Their idea of a good pizza is "shakey" at best! It's not terrible, but damn is it bland as hell. Got the "mojo potatoes" which are also bland but at least they seemed cool unlike the pizza dough. This is the equivalent of an oven baked pizza your mom would get you when she's leaving town for the weekend and she doesn't want to order you Pizza Hut. I hadn't been here in over 30 years. My daughter and I were visiting my mom who lives near by and was craving pizza. The place was hopping. Lots of people there, mostly for their all you can eat buffet. The staff was friendly. We decided to try the buffet. I don't feel we ate enough for the price since we couldn't take left overs home so make sure you know you will make it worth the $10.99 per person price. I went to this Shakeys location today... the parking was okay for LA not the biggest lot, but places to park to go into restaurant. The black gentlemen up front was very talkative and had patients to help all the customers. The time I came in it was busy around 6p.m-7p.m. Did Shakeys increase their prices? For a medium pizza, pitcher of corona, and soda it came out to $40 dollars. Sheeeesh.... Shakeys is good, but pricey. A-OK! Yes it's not foodie central, Up in coming, Exotic or organic BUT ITS OLD SCHOOL COMFORT. The pizza has a buttery crust and is soft. The sauce has a unique flavor as well. The chicken although oily was crispy and juicy, plus the skin tasted pretty good. The mojos were awesome as usual. Tasted just as yummy 20 years ago. Now what I appreciate about this place is that it's super family friendly. There should be more restaurants like this. It's affordable, first of all, and offers some pretty good family deals for 4 people, 6 people, and 8 people. For $50 (8 peeps) you get two large one topping pizzas, 8 pieces of fried chicken or 10 chicken tenders, and 2 large orders of mojos. Plus they have the play area for kids/adults to play.
