Tried this spot recently and really enjoyed it. The calamari ($11) was crispy. The spicy vodka pizza ($26) was the highlight - it was part of their daily specials. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon before a trip to Bruster's. It gives the feel of being a staple in the area. Parking was hard to come by so I ended up using metered parking and just setting a timer so as not to go over. The pizzeria had flat screens you can see from either side or the restaurant. Music playing from R&B to Pop. I was told I could sit wherever I wanted and brought a menu. I ordered fried zucchini to start -- it was piping HOT when it came out with a side of ranch (the ranch could've been a bit more thicker it was a bit watery) Next I got a personal size pizza: sauce, cheese, cilantro, pepperoni, olives. The pizza was good but when I bit into a slice all the toppings would just slide right off. Maybe thicker sauce!? Idk. But the flavor was good. My sisters and I went here for dinner. It was my first time here. My sister and niece eat at Giuseppe's frequently. My sister and I ordered pizza. I ordered the La Bella Veggie individual pizza and my sister built her own pizza with a vegetarian flair. My other sisters ordered the Linguine Alfredo dish. I didn't take a picture but it looked pretty good. The service was excellent. The food was made to order and very fresh. The serving sizes were huge. It was enough to save for lunch the next day. The environment is very trendy with a mix of a traditional pizzeria. We sat there until they closed shop. Great place to get traditional Italian dishes. I will be back with my sisters. This place has the best slice of cheese pizza for sure and the size is pretty decent. My only complaint is that they don't have a price written for a slice of pizza anywhere. They charge me different prices for a slice everytime I go. I took a picture of my receipt so if anyone wants to know how much a slice is, look at my receipt. Giuseppe's Pizzeria on Montrose has become one of our absolute favorite spots, we go there almost every week and that pretty much says it all. The food is delicious, we especially love the Primavera salad, it's always fresh, perfectly dressed and flavorful. Beyond the good food, the staff is always kind and professional. There's one server in particular, the guy with the light-colored hair (wish I knew his name) who is always attentive without being overbearing, and treats every table with respect and care. Pizza is amazing, but the service was awful. We came here to enjoy dinner outside and were really looking forward to it. My son ordered a pizza, which was delicious and came out in a reasonable amount of time. When the waitress brought it, she told me my salmon salad would be "right out." Unfortunately, it never came. The restaurant wasn't busy, and most of the wait staff seemed to be hanging out behind the counter talking. We had to repeatedly ask for basic things like napkins and water. After waiting a long time for the salad, I finally had to tell them to forget it because we had to leave. At that point it wasn't even a meal together anymore,my son had finished eating and I never got my food. What made it more frustrating was that there was no real apology. The waitress made an excuse and blamed the kitchen, saying they could only do one thing at a time. Great pizza, but the service really needs improvement. read more

Love this little Local Gem of a Pizzeria! We came in just after 4pm for early dinner and glad we did. It was Wing Wednesday (so tasty Buffalo wings for a great price. The wings were crispy, hot and juicy (new favorite local wings) We each ordered a couple beers - sadly Eagle Rock Brewing is closing so it was nice to enjoy the last of their Hazy on tap. We then ordered 2 medium pizzas (to be sure to take some home) and it was FIRE. My inner Ninja Turtle was more than pleased. I'm always on the lookout for places that have sun dried tomatoes. When the pizza came out our super cool server Brendan made sure to tell me the tomatoes were there and carefully under the cheese so they wouldn't burn (yum *chefs kiss*) The ambiance was chill (I'm guessing due to the Weds Afternoon which we were grateful for) and to catch the end of the Dodger game. Brendan was incredibly personable and genuine which is incredibly refreshing. Stopped in here for dinner last night. Cute little place and the people are nice. But that's about it. Aside from the garlic balls, which were tasty, everything we ordered was bland. I typically come here 2-3 times a month and I have always been pleased with their food. Sometimes they get a little noisy with large groups, but that is normal for a family-oriented restaurant. Giuseppe's has a new owner a few months ago and I have been VERY happy with the changes. The typical dishes I get are either pasta or pizza and a loaded salad (replacing the mozzarella with shaved Parmesan cheese) - and everything is excellent. They also have some new menu items including a middle-eastern style "gondola" pizza with an egg in the middle and feta cheese. It is very unique and I was very happy with the flavor! This has been my Go-To place for Italian food in the Glendale, Pasadena, and Foothills area for years now - and it has gotten even better with the new owner! read more

A little disappointed. I called to place an order. The call dropped so I called again and at least on my end I understood at the end of the call that they were going to get the order rolling it that it should be ready in 30 min or less. To my surprise when I arrived to pick up the order they only had my name but no order. I didn't get a call back from them either as the call supposedly dropped again. I was short on time so I couldn't place an order and wait once there. I don't know if they get many orders over the phone but I'd suggest calling back, especially if the customer called back twice. I ate here three times and got food poisoning every time. The lazy, unprofessional male who verbally abuses his younger female employees in front of customers and yells directly at customers (he has a light mustache) makes it worth not coming back alone. No one wants to support someone or an establishment like that. Their hours can't be trusted: They're closed many times they claim they'll be open. They don't even post open hours on their front door because they're so unreliable with the lazy work staff and other rampant issues at this restaurant: the only one I've ever seen in mt life that has NO hours posted on its door, because they don't even know when they might be open. So you better call ahead to make sure someone showed up to work that day, and go only if you want pizza that will keep you on the toilet 24/7. The last straw was when the worker mentioned above went outdoors and verbally abused someone working on their laptop on a public bench on the sidewalk adjacent to their property. He threatened to call the police (who I then witnessed arrive and leave promptly because the pizzeria doesn't own public benches and a false police report had been filed, about yelling, and who knows what else). At one point, I heard the worker yell at the person on the public bench: "How much do you make??" He was off the rails and all the patrons looked shocked, myself included. Long story short: the person on the bench who was on a Zoom meeting interrupted by some male maniac who works here was contacted by the cops who immediately recognized the false police report by the worker here about yelling (the worker yelled, in front of dozens of witnesses and a lawyer, who gave the bench-sitter her card because she was shocked at the worker's behavior and thought it was an easy lawsuit). The cop laughed and said, "I'm walking away now!" because he has better things to do entertain beta males who are so angry that their only "talent" is slinging soggy, food-poisoned pizza, probably for minimum wage, terrorize workers and public citizens on public property Big Mama's & Papa's pizza, and Sabrina's Napoletana pizza all on the same block, are far superior to this fake Pizza-Hut-quality pizza place with rude staff who make you wait in their loud restaurant for hours, just to get a drink. They make a regular practice of having only two people working on a shift. When one doesn't show up for work (often!) they don't even open. Lazy, rude, disrespectful staff who serve multiple bugs in people's sandwiches. (See the other review with photos of bugs in their freshly served food. I get them extra crispy and extra sauce and they r just delicious and crispy and it's coated in this incredible garlic butter sauce that just dripping all over your fingers!!! A few other must haves i get fried zucchini , garlic fries, onion rings, their mozzarella sticks omg!! The pesto bruschetta!!!! We finally decided to try this restaurant after passing by it for years, and let me tell you--it was a huge mistake. We went with three families, excited to enjoy a meal together, but from the moment we walked in, everything went downhill. We sat down and waited but no one came to take our order. My husband had to get up and ask someone to help us. After finally placing our order, we had to wait even longer. During this time, one of the younger kids at our table got excited and made a little noise. Suddenly, a group of 'regular customers,' as they proudly called themselves, decided they had the right to cause a scene. They made a huge fuss, creating a HORRIBLE experience for our kids, who had to witness such ugliness. To make matters worse, the staff did absolutely NOTHING to calm these customers down or stop them from behaving like complete imbeciles. Finally, when our food arrived, things went from bad to worse. As we were eating, my husband noticed something moving in his sandwich. Upon closer inspection, we discovered not one but TWO bugs crawling around in it! I was disgusted and wanted to throw up. I immediately took the sandwich to the person who had helped with our order, showed her the bugs, and asked her to take it off our bill as I had completely lost my appetite. Five minutes later, she came back and said that her manager or owner insisted on charging us for the sandwich because the bug wasn't noticed when it was brought out. Seriously? I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I told her there was no way I was paying for a sandwich with bugs in it. Just because they didn't see the bug when they brought it out doesn't mean it wasn't there. I even took a video of the bug before handing the sandwich back to her, just to make sure they knew what we were dealing with. And then, to add insult to injury, they offered to make a 'new' sandwich--like I'm supposed to trust that it would actually be a new one and not just the same bug-infested sandwich! This was our first and LAST time going to this place. To all the families out there, consider this a warning: this restaurant discriminates against kids and is NOT sanitary. There are so many other options nearby where you'll be treated with respect, love, and served food that's actually safe to eat. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. read more

Giuseppe's is known for Pizza and loved by locals ;however, I think their pizza could be better. The pizza dough I find it to be very DENSE and BLAND with too much cornmeal on the bottom crust. Not my fav. Their pizza sauce is heavy on the oregano. I like to add my own as an option. Just a preference. No complaints on the toppings as they seem to use quality ingredients. Instead, what I recommend are the other stuff on the menu : the salads (great cobb salad); pastas (good lasagna or cajun pasta); appetizers (try the meatballs and sausages or wings - very good), and ofcourse beer on tap. I have been eating at Guiseppes for well over 18+ years. Great pizzas. Greats pastas. Good atmosphere good people. This past few months I've noticed the cheese on the pizzas used are not stretchy any longer !! And ! The ingredients slide off the dough. So I've been trying to have them make it well done ... but nope it's worse -Owners have changed ? Whatever it is. You're losing loyal customers. Me being one of them. Don't be cheap with your ingredients. Prices have gone up ! Yes ok ! And I don't mind paying more BUT PLEASE Don't CHEAP OUT ON YOUR INGREDIENTS! This is the third time I've been here. I tried to give it a chance three times, but it's always the same slowwww service. Either they forget to bring a drink to the table or forget one of the people's orders. When you have kids, it becomes more annoying because the kids are hungry and it takes so long for the food to come out. Food quality itself is good, not the best pizza I've had, but good enough. I hope they would work on their service, and yes, I know the pizzas are made fresh, but the other appetizers can be brought out sooner while we wait for the pizza.
