Had dinner here with my family today. There was about 16 of us. As soon as we walked in the staff was friendly. Alonzo took our order and was very helpful. Matthew was our server and he did a great job handling all of us. The food is always great! Two things that were a little rough was a game that was very loud, and the area we were in was on the warm side. Maybe the volume on the game can be lowered read more

We've been loyal Shakey's fans for years and have never had a bad experience before last night, which is exactly why this one stung so much. My entire family got sick after eating here around 8:30pm last night. We ordered pizza, Mojos, and chicken wings, and by this morning everyone was dealing with stomach issues. Looking back, there were some red flags we probably should have caught sooner. The Mojos were unusually dry, and the chicken wings looked old, like they might have been sitting out for a while. Not sure if it was the cheese or food that had been left out too long, but something was clearly off. To top it off, one of our glasses came to the table with lipstick stains still on the rim. We really do love Shakey's and this isn't us trying to trash the brand, but this specific location needs to tighten up on food handling and basic glassware cleanliness. Hoping this was a one-off bad night and not a pattern, because we'd love to come back once we know it's been addressed. read more

There is nothing like some Shakey's Pizza, Fried Chicken & Mojo Potatoes. I enjoyed it as a kid and still love it as an adult. The Carson, CA location has nice workers and good customer service. It gets pretty busy at this location but it's worth the wait. I like that they have never changed their flavor. Yum Yum . I recommend this restaurant. read more

So happy to find Shakey's open until 10pm. Late night and wanted something. PCM for one was perfect. Everything was fresh and perfectly baked and fried. Service was friendly and while I was ordering each item individually, the cashier suggested PCM individual order and that saved me some money! The restaurant was bigger than what looked like from the outside. Clean and orderly. Located in the same plaza as Walmart. Will come back! read more

We visited Shakey's during a very busy time, but the experience was still great! The food was delicious, and what really stood out was the excellent customer service. One of the workers, I didn't catch her name but her hair was in pigtails was especially friendly and welcoming. Even though it was busy, she checked on us a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed. Her positive attitude and attentiveness really made a difference. Great food, great service, and a wonderful experience overall. We'll definitely be coming back! read more

Definitely a good experience right as you walk in you're greeted with welcome and as you leave they say thanks and goodbye. The staff is focused during bunch of lunch time during the week. They do the refills on the pizzas as well as the other proteins and pastas pretty regularly as well as the wipes off the tables in the dining area pretty consistently keeping things clean. Just an overall we know what this is about and we're here to serve. Definitely make sure to leave a tip like I did even though I don't think it's required or noticed but nonetheless they work hard help him out. As for the food the salad bar is fairly decent Lot of options on the toppings hit and miss on the lettuce so just filter through. The proteins beginning with the chicken was decent the batter on the skin was a little lacking in flavor and as was the pork riblets. Didn't try the pasta or the grain based offerings other than moving on to the pizza Pizzas; were OK as you know from Shakey's the crusts were crisp and there was enough cheese on the pizzas. Drink station sufficed allowing you to get sodas/ras tea/lemonade, tea-sweet or unsweet and water with lemon option. All in all good experience will return the manager's doing it right and the employees seem enthusiastic about being there. Monday - Friday: $14.99 per adult. Saturday - Sunday: $15.99 per adult. Seniors: A $1.50 discount is typically available. Beverages: These are usually not included in the buffet price and cost approximately $2.00 extra. Hours: Served daily from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Menu: Includes unlimited pizza, fried chicken, Mojo Potatoes, pasta, and a full salad bar. read more

Shakey's Pizza Parlor - Family style dinner - Pizza Near Me - Carson, California

I remember when most Pizza Hut dine-in restaurants would have a weekday buffet, and I would 'drag' my co-workers to it (when we wanted variety from our typical AYCE Chinese buffets). Those lunches are all gone now, so when I got the itch of nostalgia, this Shakey's Pizza Parlor in Carson was our destination for a Tuesday lunch. It was very satisfying. My wife and I invited our friend/neighbor to come with us and arrived around 11:20. There was still parking in the strip mall parking lot, but can see how those spots would fill up quickly. Upon entering, there is a line where you order and pay (The buffet runs from 11 AM to 2 PM daily, costing $14.99 for adults [$1.50 senior discount, plus $1 on weekends]). Got our customary water cups, which can be filled from a nice water container near the utensils (there is also a self-serve soda machine). A plate for pizza and a plate for salad is given to each diner, and the obligatory sign stating that a clean plate is needed for every trip was visible. The set-up isn't easy to get a new plate, since the only way to talk to a counter person is to fit into the same line that people are waiting to enter. I was pleasantly surprised when someone walked around giving out fresh plates as old ones were bussed. There were a choice of up to five different pizzas, and it tasted OK (reminded me of Chuck E Cheese pizza) with plenty of cheese and toppings. If you get lucky and get a fresh one, it would probably taste a bit better. But I was impressed with the amount of toppings. I also tried the spaghetti with sausage marinara (OK for a one-time try), and enjoyed the sweet corn, and really good mashed potatoes with gravy. The other main dish was chicken (both baked and fried, about as good as what you can get from a grocery deli, which is pretty decent, a skippable rice pilaf, and cocktail meatballs (which I know I should skip, but can't resist since they almost always taste good). Their famous Mojo potatoes weren't as good as I thought it would be. What I was really impressed was the salad bar. It had more choices with fresh(er) ingredients than either of the last two salad bars I remember (at Golden Corral and on various cruise ships). This is what I returned for seconds, and would be a good choice for non-pizza fans (though strangely, there is no salad bar only option on the menu). read more

Worst experience I got here 15 min before they closed and they said is was fine to order . Had me waiting over 1 hour for chicken. Just to find out they did it on purpose. They could have just let me know it was too late to be serve. After waiting a hour they gave me a refund because the fryer was not working. Ps what really funny is how shakeys pizza parlor only replies to good review and doesn't try to fit the issues. read more

This was based off door dash delivery. My family and I ordered the PMC tonight and the pizza was ice cold, the chicken was dry/hard as heck, and we didn't receive our mojos at all, which is what we were most excited about. We were frustrated. How do you forget to pack the full meal when it's literally part of the combo name! read more

5 Starts!!! Restaurant customer service was great, especially Manager Paola! She helped a lot with suggesting/recommending what to order! I came with a large group right after the lunch buffet. All the staff was very friendly and constantly cleaning. I had never been there before so we ordered a little of everything. Pizza and potatoes were good but I don't like the pasta or steamed vegetables - both were very bland. read more

Shakey's in Carson was a really disappointing experience. The arcade ticket card machine was broken and only accepted cash, so we weren't able to use any of the machines, which was frustrating--especially since that's a big reason why I came with my family. The food was subpar at best, and for the cost of the food it was very disappointing. It definitely didn't live up to what the website advertises. On top of that, most of the employees looked like they didn't want to be there and weren't very friendly. The only positive interaction we had was with one gentleman who was actually helpful. The restaurant itself also didn't feel very clean, which made the overall experience even worse. Between the broken arcade system, mediocre food, high prices for what you get, and unfriendly service, we won't be coming back. The website is pretty misleading compared to what you actually get. read more

not sure if because my items were in the heater. i ordered in person and was there sitting and oddly, no one called it out. as i walked towards the cashier after almost 40 mins, a lead or manager looking like person made eye contact and just walked away to the back. next person from the back comes out, i asked about my order. it turns out it was in the warmer section. meh.. poor service. the other shakeys were much better and paid attention to people ordering and picking up person. not very friendly too. read more

It was very dirty and there was trash everywhere. I think they need to have their workers put a bit of more effort into keeping it clean.

Pizza & chicken/potatoes were good, the chicken & potatoes were fresh hot. The only thing is there prices are high.

Update 6/16 The team at Shakey's reached out to me and wanted further information on what went wrong and how to make my experience better. They sent me a voucher for another pizza and mojos :) I ordered the same large cheese & pepperoni thin crust with mojos. I checked the pizza before leaving the restaurant and so far so good. Arrived home grabbed a slice it was just ok, this time lacking sauce and was dry oh well. I appreciate Shakeys coming through with their amazing customer service and wanting to make sure I had a better experience, but I'm going to hold off on returning. read more

**Employee Review for Matilde - Shakey's Pizza** Review is strictly only for MATILDE! Not sure if she still works there, but I was speaking to a coworker about Shakey's pizza and there has been a woman there named Matilde who's been working there since I was about 13 years old and I went a few years back in my 30s! I felt I had to leave a review for her! I am delighted to take a moment to recognize Matilde for her outstanding service at Shakey's Pizza. Every time I visit, Matilde goes above and beyond to ensure that my experience is nothing short of exceptional. What truly sets Matilde apart is her attention to detail. She consistently makes sure that we have all the plates and utensils we need without us having to ask. It's clear that she takes pride in her work and values customer satisfaction. Matilde's friendly demeanor is an added bonus. She greets every customer with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm, making us feel welcomed and appreciated. She is always eager to assist, and her positive attitude creates a wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant. In a world where great service can often feel like a rarity, Matilde stands out as an exemplary employee who truly embodies the spirit of hospitality. I look forward to my future visits to Shakey's, knowing that I will be greeted by Matilde's exceptional service every time. Thank you, Matilde, for making each visit a delightful experience! read more

I came into Shakey's not really expecting much beyond the usual pizza and mojo fix--but wow, this visit totally changed my mind! From the moment we walked in, the place felt clean, lively, and welcoming. We were greeted with a smile by Vanessa, who truly made our experience memorable. She was warm, attentive, and went out of her way to make sure everything was just right. Whether it was helping us with the menu, keeping our drinks filled, or checking in at the perfect moments, she nailed it. You could really tell she cared about the customers. We ordered a combo of pizza, fried chicken, and of course, those legendary mojos--and everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. The crust had that perfect crunch, the chicken was juicy, and the mojos? Still undefeated. The atmosphere was fun and family-friendly, and we didn't feel rushed at all. It's clear the team here takes pride in what they do, but Vanessa especially deserves a shout-out for going above and beyond. If you're in the area and craving Shakey's, THIS is the location to hit--and if you're lucky enough to have Vanessa helping you, you're in for a great time read more

My son received a personal pizza voucher at school so my wife and I decided to take the whole family for lunch at this location. Mind you there are 6 of us total. The service started off okay. Their staff seemed okay. Nothing out of the ordinary. Again, the visit was going just fine, we received our food and the food was good. Mid way through the visit, near our booth, one of the employees I hadn't seen sat at the bar and started to gossip about how she didn't get along with some other employee and just having very unprofessional conversations in fronts of paying-patrons. Even at that moment, I said whatever. My kids finished their food and I decided to purchase a play card of $30 so they can play and earn points to pay for a prize with their points. Well they were done and it was time to claim their prize. There was a line at the front of about 3-4 customers. I waited about 15-20mins until she was done because her other two co-workers were making food. Another customer comes over and asks her for her beer which is near where my kids and I had been now waiting for about 20mins. She doesn't even acknowledge my wait or me lol. So I approach her and said, "hi, I know you're busy but could you help us when you have a moment." She said, "just a moment." No apology for the wait, thanks for the patience, and her tone just rubbed me the wrong way. I know you're just trying to do your job and you might feel that food orders should come first, I get it. But acknowledge me. I paid good money for the food and games. Even if your frustrations are that you are understaffed, a simple thank you for your patience or sorry for the wait would have done the job. My kids were excited for their prizes but I told them we were leaving since we were no longer a priority to the staff. The initial staff that took our order and served us had just left. I feel like it would have been a different experience if they were still there. That particular staff member just seemed like she's been working there too long and needs a change in occupation. read more

My Mom and Dad have been trying to go old-school for a while and insisted upon Shakey's Pizza. Who knew they had one so close!? I tried to DoorDash but those fees are ridiculous so I ordered online, got my lazy butt up and went to pick up their food. Shakey's is located in the shopping center with Starbucks on Avalon and Del Amo. Plenty of parking. The front doors and windows are clean, (things I notice walking up lol) I was immediately greeted upon entering, I love that. I gave my name and waited just a moment for my Fried Chicken, Pizza and Mojo Potatoes. The young lady was so nice. She showed me my Pizza! I didn't know they still did that! The restaurant was nice and clean. There were a few guests enjoying their meals. I would definitely come back for the buffet and Customer Service. I recommend this Location read more
