Definitely a good experience right as you walk in you're greeted with welcome and as you leave they say thanks and goodbye. The staff is focused during bunch of lunch time during the week. They do the refills on the pizzas as well as the other proteins and pastas pretty regularly as well as the wipes off the tables in the dining area pretty consistently keeping things clean. Just an overall we know what this is about and we're here to serve. Definitely make sure to leave a tip like I did even though I don't think it's required or noticed but nonetheless they work hard help him out. As for the food the salad bar is fairly decent Lot of options on the toppings hit and miss on the lettuce so just filter through. The proteins beginning with the chicken was decent the batter on the skin was a little lacking in flavor and as was the pork riblets. Didn't try the pasta or the grain based offerings other than moving on to the pizza Pizzas; were OK as you know from Shakey's the crusts were crisp and there was enough cheese on the pizzas. Drink station sufficed allowing you to get sodas/ras tea/lemonade, tea-sweet or unsweet and water with lemon option. So happy to find Shakey's open until 10pm. Late night and wanted something. PCM for one was perfect. Everything was fresh and perfectly baked and fried. Service was friendly and while I was ordering each item individually, the cashier suggested PCM individual order and that saved me some money! This location "was good" for Bunch of lunch but lately it's gone downhill. The pizza was sad looking and the chicken was full of thigh pieces. I remember when most Pizza Hut dine-in restaurants would have a weekday buffet, and I would 'drag' my co-workers to it (when we wanted variety from our typical AYCE Chinese buffets). Those lunches are all gone now, so when I got the itch of nostalgia, this Shakey's Pizza Parlor in Carson was our destination for a Tuesday lunch. It was very satisfying. My wife and I invited our friend/neighbor to come with us and arrived around 11:20. There was still parking in the strip mall parking lot, but can see how those spots would fill up quickly. Upon entering, there is a line where you order and pay (The buffet runs from 11 AM to 2 PM daily, costing $14.99 for adults [$1.50 senior discount, plus $1 on weekends]). Got our customary water cups, which can be filled from a nice water container near the utensils (there is also a self-serve soda machine). A plate for pizza and a plate for salad is given to each diner, and the obligatory sign stating that a clean plate is needed for every trip was visible. The set-up isn't easy to get a new plate, since the only way to talk to a counter person is to fit into the same line that people are waiting to enter. I was pleasantly surprised when someone walked around giving out fresh plates as old ones were bussed. There were a choice of up to five different pizzas, and it tasted OK (reminded me of Chuck E Cheese pizza) with plenty of cheese and toppings. If you get lucky and get a fresh one, it would probably taste a bit better. But I was impressed with the amount of toppings. I also tried the spaghetti with sausage marinara (OK for a one-time try), and enjoyed the sweet corn, and really good mashed potatoes with gravy. The other main dish was chicken (both baked and fried, about as good as what you can get from a grocery deli, which is pretty decent, a skippable rice pilaf, and cocktail meatballs (which I know I should skip, but can't resist since they almost always taste good). Their famous Mojo potatoes weren't as good as I thought it would be. What I was really impressed was the salad bar. It had more choices with fresh(er) ingredients than either of the last two salad bars I remember (at Golden Corral and on various cruise ships). This is what I returned for seconds, and would be a good choice for non-pizza fans (though strangely, there is no salad bar only option on the menu). read more

Shakey's in Carson was a really disappointing experience. The arcade ticket card machine was broken and only accepted cash, so we weren't able to use any of the machines, which was frustrating--especially since that's a big reason why I came with my family. The food was subpar at best, and for the cost of the food it was very disappointing. It definitely didn't live up to what the website advertises. On top of that, most of the employees looked like they didn't want to be there and weren't very friendly. The only positive interaction we had was with one gentleman who was actually helpful. The restaurant itself also didn't feel very clean, which made the overall experience even worse. Between the broken arcade system, mediocre food, high prices for what you get, and unfriendly service, we won't be coming back. Amazing! Me and my girl friend went to get the pizza heart for Valentine's Day and it was sooo good. The salad bar was very clean and well stocked. So many dressings and toppings to choose from. My son received a personal pizza voucher at school so my wife and I decided to take the whole family for lunch at this location. Mind you there are 6 of us total. The service started off okay. Their staff seemed okay. Nothing out of the ordinary. Again, the visit was going just fine, we received our food and the food was good. Mid way through the visit, near our booth, one of the employees I hadn't seen sat at the bar and started to gossip about how she didn't get along with some other employee and just having very unprofessional conversations in fronts of paying-patrons. Even at that moment, I said whatever. My kids finished their food and I decided to purchase a play card of $30 so they can play and earn points to pay for a prize with their points. Well they were done and it was time to claim their prize. There was a line at the front of about 3-4 customers. I waited about 15-20mins until she was done because her other two co-workers were making food. Another customer comes over and asks her for her beer which is near where my kids and I had been now waiting for about 20mins. She doesn't even acknowledge my wait or me lol. So I approach her and said, "hi, I know you're busy but could you help us when you have a moment." She said, "just a moment." No apology for the wait, thanks for the patience, and her tone just rubbed me the wrong way. I know you're just trying to do your job and you might feel that food orders should come first, I get it. But acknowledge me. I paid good money for the food and games. Even if your frustrations are that you are understaffed, a simple thank you for your patience or sorry for the wait would have done the job. My kids were excited for their prizes but I told them we were leaving since we were no longer a priority to the staff. The initial staff that took our order and served us had just left. I feel like it would have been a different experience if they were still there. Arrived home grabbed a slice it was just ok, this time lacking sauce and was dry oh well. Lunch is always the best meal at Shakey's price is just right for all the food you need

Got to the store early. They said it would be 10 more mins. I went in after 12 mins. The person at the from motioned towards a pizza and said they were waiting for the other pizza. I saw my pizza sitting on the cutting table for over 5 mins. Then they boxed it and placed it with my other pizza. I asked a worker for them and she said they weren't mine. Then looked for my order not being able to find it. After 5 more mins, it turns out it was my order. I took it and quickly left. As I was pulling out of the parking lot I noticed I recieveda pizza that was only cheese after ordering a Large Shakey's Special. I went back into the store. Again they couldn't find my orde. When they finally did they said "well that's how you ordered it!" After showing them in the app it wasn't how I ordered it, they went to get a manager. I asked them to make BOTH pizzas over as the other one was now getting cold. After another 5mins the manager showed me the ticket that said I took off all the topping and she said"but thats what the ticket says!" Well the app confirmed that wasn't how I ordered it. She said she'd make my pizza but wouldn't make the other one that was now COLD over. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I finally recieved my order 50 MINUTES after it was supposed to be ready'. I had my 20 month old with me and they didn't even offer us a drink while we waited. My family has been going to Shakeys since I was little, now the Torrance one is closed, the other Torrance one is infested with bugs and this one cant figure out how to make a pizza. My Mom and Dad have been trying to go old-school for a while and insisted upon Shakey's Pizza. Who knew they had one so close!? I tried to DoorDash but those fees are ridiculous so I ordered online, got my lazy butt up and went to pick up their food. Shakey's is located in the shopping center with Starbucks on Avalon and Del Amo. Plenty of parking. The front doors and windows are clean, (things I notice walking up lol) I was immediately greeted upon entering, I love that. I gave my name and waited just a moment for my Fried Chicken, Pizza and Mojo Potatoes. The young lady was so nice. She showed me my Pizza! I didn't know they still did that!
