The pizza we received was the driest we've ever had. It was like biting into cardboard. Red Baron frozen pizza tastes better. Two things: 1. This review is actually from December. I've lagged. 2. This is about the experience as a whole. Ok so I discovered these guys on IG back when they would just post pics of the food and it looked really good. Finally got a chance to try them during a SoCal visit. The service was great. Teenage / college kids. Very friendly. Very nice. They were out of something (I don't recall what) but they offered me like 3 free sauce (ranch and marinara if I recall correctly) cups. The location is tiny. No problem getting a seat as it was empty, but much smaller than I imagined. Chairs actually weren't very comfortable and the table was small, but not worth knocking off a star for. What I did knock off a star for is the food. First of all they don't have a soda fountain. It's sold by the can. But that's still minor. They introduced me to black garlic, but then when I finally tried their black garlic pizza, it was underwhelming. You couldn't even tell it was anything different than regular pepperoni. And unfortunately, their regular pepperoni was below mediocre. Not terrible, but not something I'd really go back for when there are much better options. Basically this place is a testament to the power of social media. OK people, I just went to Burattino Brick Oven Pizza in Carson. I had the Hawaiian pizza and I have to say, it was pretty good! I loved how thin and crispy the pizza was --even at the tip! I thought the marinara had a sweet taste to it but good. The dough was pretty descent in taste as well but it didn't stand out. Found this place from Instagram. The server was friendly. They have a small inside and outside area to be able to eat there. The food was made fresh to order. Kept seeing this place on the gram so we gave it a shot and glad we did. Pizzas are thin and crispy and there are a whole lot of predefined pizza options along with the option to just build your own. If you're doing take out, recommend calling ahead or placing and order on their website. Just know that the pizzas may not be as crispy/crunchy because they steam up a bit in the box compared to dining in. Still tasty but just missing that texture. Nothing a few minutes in an air fryer, frying pan, or griddle can't fix. Parking: If you're familiar with this plaza, you know parking is a small lot and can fill up during busy times. I've been here one time before and pizza was great. This time I went yesterday I ordered a medium pepperoni pizza and added bell peppers for $1.50 and a can Diet Coke. It cost me almost $26. Just had to try the cheese lava pie with added sausage and mushroom (2 max toppings allowed), but we wanted different things from the menu, so we also got a calzone with chicken and mushroom. That calzone was massive, could probably feed a family, and stuffed with sauce, toppings, and so much melted cheese oozing out onto the serving tray. The cheese lava pie was basically a sauceless medium sized pizza with triple the cheese, and extra cheese stuffed into the crust at the edges. It was sooooo good, so much flavor from the savory sausage and mushrooms, and the oils from the cheese adding flavor to the crust... wow, I was in cheese heaven. Obviously we ended up with leftovers, definitely too much cheesy goodness for one meal. We appreciated the fast and friendly service at the order counter. We were quoted a 20 minute wait for dine-in, though in actuality it was served to our table in about 25-30 minutes. They had a gorgeous outdoor seating area featuring trees, flowers, and greenery, but we opted to sit inside on this hot afternoon. Also, parking was easy to find nearby on a Sunday. read more

One of the best pizza places around. You're gonna love this place and here's why. I've been to their location in HB before, and since I was in this area today, I had to stop by again. I went with their garlic pepperoni cheese pizza, which is always amazing. I added the black garlic to it, which costs a couple extra bucks, but totally worth it. You don't even realize you're eating garlic. It's just super flavorful and rich. The sauce is amazing. It's got this sweet and tangy flavor that almost reminds me of prunes or something along those lines, in a good way. The cheese melts perfectly, and the crust is cooked just right with a little crisp but still soft. They do not skimp on the pepperoni either. It's packed all over the pizza and the edges curl up just right with a little crisp on some of them. The black garlic adds that extra layer of flavor that makes this pizza stand out from the rest. You look at it and think it might be burnt in spots, but that's just the dark roasted garlic, and it gives it that deep, rich flavor without being bitter. If you're in the mood for a pizza that's a little different and packed with flavor, this is the place. Next time I come back, I'm trying their extra four cheese pizza. That thing looks insane, just loaded with cheese. Both locations I've been to are great. Stopped here for lunch on the way back to the office, and ordered the Siciliana, a piping hot "medium" that was sticking out of the box. As far as brick oven pizza goes it was really good. The oven gave the crust a good color. The sauce was tangy, the peppered charred, the sausage well seasoned, and the cheese was that nice melty where it didn't make a thick layer on the pizza (if you know what I'm talking about). I liked how I could eat three slices easily without feeling stuffed. It was reminiscent of tavern pizza in Chicago with the thin crust. And I liked how they put that bright oregano on top. Fortunately (or unfortunately), I got suckered into trying this place by Instagram ads (showing their cheese lava pie) and had to finally try it after it was on my list for a while. We came on a late Friday night to pickup to-go, and it was busy! I appreciate that they are upfront about their long wait time. The online ordering system has an estimated wait which ended up being almost correct (estimated 75 minutes), so plan ahead if you're bringing home dinner. The reason I came was for the cheese lava pie which, upon opening the box, was pretty intimidating. Although not overly intense, keep in mind there is indeed a LOT of cheese (make sure you take your Lactaid). It has no tomato sauce, but the 4 cheeses and other flavors in two layers of buttery dough meld together very very well. It doesn't taste overly cheesy somehow, and reminds me a lot of eating a cheesy breadstick in pizza form. Definitely want to see what it tastes like piping hot coming out the oven. The top layer of cheese also had a nice char to it (which was a pleasant surprise since the ads always show it without much of a crust on top). We also got a medium pepperoni pizza which was thin crust which was good. Pretty standard fare, but it did feel a bit overly greasy. We got a side of the garlic parmesan wings which were tasty and had the classic softness of oven baked pizza joint wings to them. I'm guessing the full size XL 120-pepperoni might solve this as it's bigger. Lastly we got a chicken caesar salad which had plenty of chunks of chicken and a LOT of parmesan shavings to it. It was pretty good but we felt that there could be some more dressing (the one cup they gave wasn't quite enough, the salad did feel a bit dry but was still good). Would get it again if I came here. We made sure to get one of their white and one of their black garlic sauces. The white was more like a classic white garlic sauce and the black was sweet--almost not quite a garlic sauce at all. Overall the food was really tasty and the cheese lava pie that we came for was definitely something I'd try again, I can see why it's so busy. Kudos to the staff for being so friendly even though it was super busy. Parking can be pretty crowded in the street in this area but there is a back parking lot you can park at which should have spots with people coming and going! read more

We finally got a chance to visit this pizza place. I've had this place bookmarked forever!!! Ever since I saw that instagram cheese pull I knew I had to come. This place is not your average pizza place! If you love pizza then don't skip this place. We drove about 2hrs just to get here and it was definitely worth the drive. The next time we come out, we want to try the cheese lava!!!!! I saw a few people's tables that had that cheese pull and I was jealous! They have a good variety of pizzas and you can even customize your pizza. They have seating in the inside but I wanted that good lighting for my pizza so we dined outside. We were lucky enough to visit on a good day because the weather was perfect and even though there were tons of people we didn't have a hard time finding a place to sit. Parking was no issue at all. They have a lot of space in the back. Restaurant was clean and I even used the restroom and it was fairly clean in there too. I loved so many things about this place, but I've got to keep it one hundred. Parking is a challenge. I found a spot right in front (awesome!), but you have to parallel park on a very busy street (aaack!). The customer service was TOP TIER! The young lady greeted me warmly, I was super flustered from the parking, her nice smile and patience, instantly flipped my mood. I ordered a margherita pizza, but it wasn't my favorite. The crust was thick and doughy, it had tons of cheese, but not those nice little circles you expect and it had a ton of basil. It wasn't terrible, but not at all what I expected. I ordered the mango tiramisu (I love tiramisu!) and she gave me a strawberry one as well, for good measure. They weren't really tiramisu, but they were delicious! The black garlic sauce was super strong (she threw it in for me to try) and the garlic sauce was fine, but not necessary for pizza. My friend told me to get it. I was in Venice this summer and the pizza was sublime. I liked so many things, but I'll have to look more carefully at the menu. We took the opportunity to come by the location on our way home from Disney and let me tell you! It does not disappoint!! The crunch is SOOOO REAL!! The thrill is exciting. So good! I have been waiting a very long time to try this place!! This place got me in a chokehold about two years ago off an Instagram post. I currently live in the Bay Area and I was devastated when I found out this is the southern California restaurant. Week after week, they would post amazing videos of their food ! Finally, I made my way down and put this as number one spot to try while in Southern California! The down side: must say it does take a bit of time for them to get the food out & and you have to pay for extra ranch. But the food itself was absolutely incredible !! I came last year and this place kept popping up on my feed. So I asked my daughter to take me. She wants close to the San Pedro one and we went. Did not like at all. We tried the black garlic sauce too but wasn't a fan. I thought it had a sweet molasses type taste while my friend thought it was a spicy taste. I've been to the RPV location before but this was my first time at the Carson location. This location is much larger - plenty of tables inside for dining and a few outside for outdoor dining. Plenty of parking in the lot right next to it called the Villagio, also street parking. Staff was friendly and courteous. There is a section with paper plates, cheese and red pepper. The Mexican coke hit the spot, glad they have that as an option here. We came in on a weekend right before the dinner rush and were able to get a table inside for dining.
