We ordered the Mercedes to get a good sampling of the flavors. Taste did not disappoint. The dough is a different story -- crust is more tough than chewy, and the edges were more hard than crispy. Finally tried the Burratino's trendy black onion pizza! One issue we found is that we didn't really know where to park. Update: The black onion really didn't suit my tastes. But I did enjoy the italian sausage and basil. Still so glad I got to try it. I heard many people say that the black onion was sweet, but personally, It didn't taste sweet to me. The sauce was quite overbearing. The comments were right about one thing: it was very tangy. However, the good news is that my family loved it. If the family loves it, then it really has the potential. We loved the ambiance! The restaurant is very clean, seriously spotless. Based on our experiance, we also found the restaurant is empty. The plants outdoors really set the vibe. I love how it feels like you are in a garden. The inside feels like a typical pizza place. Very calming, and cool temperatures. Their pizza is fresh and everything is done well. The service is outstanding. For anyone who is new to the place, the waiters will bring you the pizza after ordering. They came as soon as possible and everything was delivered well. While I wasn't a fan of the black onion marinara, I do believe that we will come back in the future and try a few different pizzas. This had been on my list for awhile, and I finally made it down here to try out the "black garlic" sauce on a pizza. I placed my order online for a medium 12 inch cheese pizza with the black garlic sauce, well done, and drove down to pick it up. $18.00. How was it? Meh! 12 Inch Cheese Pizza with Black Garlic Sauce- For as much as this pizza is hyped, it totally fell short. The dough was bad. It wasn't a thin NY style, and it wasn't a thicker hand tossed style. It was somewhere in the middle, and just didn't work. It was extremely chewy and not in a good way. It reminded me of how my homemade pizzas turned out when I first started out and used some dead yeast. It was like the dough didn't rise properly, no crunch on the bottom, and hard to get through. The black garlic sauce wasn't even that good, either. It was pasty and didn't even have a "garlic" punch to it. I powered through the whole pizza as to not waste food, but it was one of the worst pizzas I can remember ordering from a non chain establishment. Ok so I discovered these guys on IG back when they would just post pics of the food and it looked really good. Finally got a chance to try them during a SoCal visit. The service was great. Teenage / college kids. Very friendly. Very nice. They were out of something (I don't recall what) but they offered me like 3 free sauce (ranch and marinara if I recall correctly) cups. The location is tiny. No problem getting a seat as it was empty, but much smaller than I imagined. Chairs actually weren't very comfortable and the table was small, but not worth knocking off a star for. What I did knock off a star for is the food. First of all they don't have a soda fountain. It's sold by the can. But that's still minor. They introduced me to black garlic, but then when I finally tried their black garlic pizza, it was underwhelming. You couldn't even tell it was anything different than regular pepperoni. And unfortunately, their regular pepperoni was below mediocre. Not terrible, but not something I'd really go back for when there are much better options. Basically this place is a testament to the power of social media. This happened on July 5th - over two weeks ago now, and never received the refund for an order I paid for. One of the best pizza places around. You're gonna love this place and here's why. I've been to their location in HB before, and since I was in this area today, I had to stop by again. I went with their garlic pepperoni cheese pizza, which is always amazing. I added the black garlic to it, which costs a couple extra bucks, but totally worth it. You don't even realize you're eating garlic. It's just super flavorful and rich. The sauce is amazing. It's got this sweet and tangy flavor that almost reminds me of prunes or something along those lines, in a good way. The cheese melts perfectly, and the crust is cooked just right with a little crisp but still soft. They do not skimp on the pepperoni either. It's packed all over the pizza and the edges curl up just right with a little crisp on some of them. The black garlic adds that extra layer of flavor that makes this pizza stand out from the rest. You look at it and think it might be burnt in spots, but that's just the dark roasted garlic, and it gives it that deep, rich flavor without being bitter. If you're in the mood for a pizza that's a little different and packed with flavor, this is the place. Next time I come back, I'm trying their extra four cheese pizza. That thing looks insane, just loaded with cheese. Both locations I've been to are great. The oven gave the crust a good color. The sauce was tangy, the peppered charred, the sausage well seasoned, and the cheese was that nice melty where it didn't make a thick layer on the pizza (if you know what I'm talking about). I liked how I could eat three slices easily without feeling stuffed. It was reminiscent of tavern pizza in Chicago with the thin crust. And I liked how they put that bright oregano on top. The order was supposed to be delivered by 8:16 PM, but it didn't arrive until around 8:40 PM. Fortunately (or unfortunately), I got suckered into trying this place by Instagram ads (showing their cheese lava pie) and had to finally try it after it was on my list for a while. We came on a late Friday night to pickup to-go, and it was busy! I appreciate that they are upfront about their long wait time. The online ordering system has an estimated wait which ended up being almost correct (estimated 75 minutes), so plan ahead if you're bringing home dinner. The reason I came was for the cheese lava pie which, upon opening the box, was pretty intimidating. Although not overly intense, keep in mind there is indeed a LOT of cheese (make sure you take your Lactaid). It has no tomato sauce, but the 4 cheeses and other flavors in two layers of buttery dough meld together very very well. It doesn't taste overly cheesy somehow, and reminds me a lot of eating a cheesy breadstick in pizza form. Definitely want to see what it tastes like piping hot coming out the oven. The top layer of cheese also had a nice char to it (which was a pleasant surprise since the ads always show it without much of a crust on top). We also got a medium pepperoni pizza which was thin crust which was good. Pretty standard fare, but it did feel a bit overly greasy. We got a side of the garlic parmesan wings which were tasty and had the classic softness of oven baked pizza joint wings to them. I'm guessing the full size XL 120-pepperoni might solve this as it's bigger. Lastly we got a chicken caesar salad which had plenty of chunks of chicken and a LOT of parmesan shavings to it. It was pretty good but we felt that there could be some more dressing (the one cup they gave wasn't quite enough, the salad did feel a bit dry but was still good). Would get it again if I came here. We made sure to get one of their white and one of their black garlic sauces. The white was more like a classic white garlic sauce and the black was sweet--almost not quite a garlic sauce at all. Overall the food was really tasty and the cheese lava pie that we came for was definitely something I'd try again, I can see why it's so busy. Kudos to the staff for being so friendly even though it was super busy. Parking can be pretty crowded in the street in this area but there is a back parking lot you can park at which should have spots with people coming and going! read more

We finally got a chance to visit this pizza place. I've had this place bookmarked forever!!! Ever since I saw that instagram cheese pull I knew I had to come. This place is not your average pizza place! If you love pizza then don't skip this place. We drove about 2hrs just to get here and it was definitely worth the drive. The next time we come out, we want to try the cheese lava!!!!! I saw a few people's tables that had that cheese pull and I was jealous! They have a good variety of pizzas and you can even customize your pizza. They have seating in the inside but I wanted that good lighting for my pizza so we dined outside. We were lucky enough to visit on a good day because the weather was perfect and even though there were tons of people we didn't have a hard time finding a place to sit. Parking was no issue at all. They have a lot of space in the back. Restaurant was clean and I even used the restroom and it was fairly clean in there too.
