I'm going to be nice and give them two stars because they were friendly and the service was fast. However, this might be some of the worst pizza I've ever had, and it's definitely not a place you want to sit and eat a slice of pizza. I was running some errands a few weeks ago when I drove by and decided to try it out since the name sounded familiar. I'm glad I only started with one slice because it seemed kind of suspect TBH. I don't know if they changed ownership or something (and are planning to update/renovate the space), but the shop looks very empty, not a great ambiance at all. My family and I ate here because I wanted to try the pizza. Many pizza places don't sit well with me so, I have to be careful. The parking lot is very small and the inside of the establishment was HOT. However, the pizza was so GOOD! Bomb! We tried the regular crust and the Sicilian PIZZA pepperoni on both. Drove 30 minutes from Inglewood to pick up three pizzas that I had already placed and that were accepted on DoorDash, only to arrive at 12:30 PM and find the place completely closed with the doors locked. According to Yelp, DoorDash, and their own posted hours, Lucky's Pizza is supposed to be open at 11:00 AM. No sign on the door, no notice online, no call, no one inside, no update--just wasted my time and gas and still haven't been issued a refund. We've been wanting pizza and heard this was a good place to go to and it's close to home. We wanted two different pizzas, so we got two smalls for a really good price. I'm usually a thick crust type of guy but this one was think and I really enjoyed it. The pizzas had great flavor, they didn't skip on the toppings, and they were really fast. Overall it's pretty good the wings here are amazing. However the pizza crust was burnt which on one side which wasn't satisfactory. The combo was only $20 for a personal pizza, wings and a drink is a good deal. It's not too busy and there are a few tables inside. It is rare that I walk in a food establishment and I'm greeted with a welcoming and friendly demeanor. Hector greeted me with a jovial smile and helped me make a delicious decision in ordering the 10" pizza combo with pepperoni and caramelized onions! The sauce was perfect--sweet and tasty perfectly blending with the caramelized onions. I also ordered the italian salad. The ingredients tasted fresh and the dressing was a nice compliment to the red onions, cheese and pepperchinis. Hector, you rock and I appreciate your guidance and eagerness to help me feed my afternoon hunger :) My only recommendation is to find a way to prepare the pizza to avoid the caramelized onions becoming overcooked. It's the type of pizza I remember from years ago that you would find at the old school pizza parlors, have been unable to find something similar for years. Slices were huge and had a lot of toppings. The crust was perfect, thin but still with a fluffy toasty crust with just the right chewiness and dough pull when you bite it. Flavors were spot on. There was 5 pcs of Pizza to buy by the slice on display. One pepperoni and four cheese slices. So I bought one of each with the drink, which was my mistake. There was two guys working in there and said it would be maybe 15-20 minutes before a new pizza would be made. The pepperoni slice was OK with the cheese was totally dry and tasted like cardboard. The poor kid behind the counter couldn't even fold the box. I will never go back here even though it had reviews. I've been to Lucky's Pizza 5 times in the past couple of months. Every other time the service and pizza has been great. Tonight I ordered the same pizza I always order, 18in Dom. I asked for easy olives and when I picked up the pizza it was easy on all the topping except for the meat. The young man who was on the register instead of trying to make it right accused me of asking for light green peppers and took offense to me correcting him and accused me of yelling. The guy who made the pizza offered to make another one and offered wings or garlic bread. He offered a refund and I told him that I didn't want anything for free. He attempted to refund the charge on my card and asked the young man at the register how to do it, he said that he didn't know. I don't believe for one minute that he didn't know how to do a refund. In fact he told the guy that since I didn't accept the refund not to give it to me. The guy then offered to give be back $20 and gave me $20 in cash. When I was leaving the young man at the register chided the guy for giving me $20. I expect better service when I'm spending $32 for a pizza. read more
