Came here on Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. There is a current deal going on for a BOGO doubleshack burger active now until 10/31/25. Take advantage of it! I bought that and an order of fries, onion rings, and a large passion fruit mango. The burger was tender and juicy. The fries were crisp and so were the onion rings. I would skip the onion rinsg next time as the portion isn't worth the price imo. The passion mango was sweet and tart and went well with the burger. I ordered the double bacon cheeseburger with crispy onions, fries, and banana pudding shake. Starting with the burger, the crispy onions for an extra $1.49 is not worth it because it was very soggy and I don't think it made the burger taste better. I had already expected the burger to be greasy because of the double burger, bacon, and crispy onions but I could barely finish half because the burger was too oily. I normally don't order cheese with my burgers but I accidentally forgot to remove it. If I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was the cheese that made me feel nauseous and not the grease. The fries were decent but I like Nathan's crinkle cut fries more. The banana pudding shake was the biggest disappointment. It is advertised as a banana pudding frozen custard made with real banana, hand-spun with vanilla wafer cookies, topped with whipped cream and vanilla wafer cookie crumble. However, I could not even taste a hint of banana, it just tasted like cream. The vanilla wafer cookie crumble was the best part. Overall, the food was mid and I expected better since Shake Shack is always compared to Five Guys. While the food was underwhelming, the vibes of the restaurant were great. The workers seemed very chill and they didn't mind how long we sat at the table. When Shake Shack was in its earlier years, in both Manhattan and Brooklyn, the food was better. For a chain, it's better than most but, doesn't deserve the hype it used to have. My partner is a shake lover and, he says their shakes are consistently good. During the summer he enjoyed the peach shake. Tonight he had the black and white which he said was good. The fries were way too salty. The Shack burger was just fair. I had the Chicken Shack. In the past, I thought it was much better. Again, way too salty. I do like the buttermilk herb mayo. For a Shake Shack chain location, I would say this is definitely one of the better ones! Given its location next to Barclays, it's bound to be packed whenever there is anything going on in the Barclays Center. Despite this, service is fast, and on a sunny day, definitely recommend taking your meal to go and hanging out by Barclays to eat since seating can get PACKED. Service is decently fast, especially servers helping clearing trays and tables. So this was first time at a Shake Shack and it totally meet all my expectations. The Hype on the streets was true. Excellent chicken sandwich, probably the best one at any fast food restaurant hands down. The service was a little crazy but somehow it works. You order on a kiosk and pick a number card and add that number to your order, then place your number card on the table you choose then the staff comes and finds you. A little bit of hide and seek. This Shake Shack can get really crowded, but it's not too bad if there aren't any big events going on right across the street at Barclays. My kid and I dropped by recently for some hot dogs (his favorite), and they were ready quickly and exactly what we expected. I'm not sure why they give out numbers when you order on the tablets though, as they just call out names anyway. Staff was friendly. I haven't eaten at Shake shack in almost ten years! It's okay; however, I sometimes feel it's slightly overhyped. Nonetheless, when this location open years ago, I never even considered coming here-- between the large crowds and all the Grub Hub/Delivery folks outside, it's a madhouse here! I decided to walk past all the delivery people and poked my head in, and noticed they had ample seating and decided to give it a try after my long hiatus. It's deceptively larger than I anticipated. They had a pretty good amount of seats and the long line moved pretty quickly. I placed my order and patiently waited because it's rather loud in here, I would say it's better to just stand there and wait, opposed to going and sit down. The food was quality... but it was a little loud with some of the crowd here. This place used to be good but I've ordered for takeout twice recently and both times I got stuck with really cold, dry food with stale buns. How is that even possible when I live two blocks away? Do they prepare burgers ahead of time and let them sit for hours and give those to takeout/delivery orders? There is ZERO possibility these are made to order. Absolutely no way. This last time I got two beef patties that were as hard as a hockey pucks with disgusting looking burnt ends. Quality has gone way downhill and they clearly don't care. For anyone ordering online, DO NOT order and choose window pick up! Because it does not exist even though it is offered as an option. I ordered online and chose the window pick up as I'm biking home from work and window pick up would be what I thought will be quick and easy as I don't have to look to lock up my bike somewhere. Included a tip with my order. I was suppose to get a text message when my order was ready for pickup. I arrived at the pick up window on the dot of my estimated pick up time. I waited and waited by the window for over 10 minutes, saw that my order was ready to be pickup but did not get a text. So I pushed a button by the window twice, no one came, some employees saw me but didn't care to come ask. I finally got tired of waiting and waved an employee over, I was told by the employee that they don't do window pick up and I had to go inside and pick up by the order counter. I was pretty frustrated at that point especially seeing my order not packed up properly with a closed container for the burger, no ketchup, no nothing I had requested to be included in the order, regretting leaving a tip for no service. Ordered from this Shake Shack recently for their in app BOGO promo, & it was a confusing experience. The app says that you'll get a text when the order is almost ready or near the completion time but I never received any texts. Would recommend asking about your order at the counter because sometimes it gets packaged but nobody is calling out the names. But regardless, quality of the food here is consistent with other locations for the most part. The shack burger could have used a bit more sauce but no major complaints about the food otherwise. I'm a fan of Shake Shack! I love the dine-in experience, because they have TV's and plenty of tables to choose from. When sports are on they always have them on the T.V. The set up is you walk in order and wait for your number to be called. The wait can be long if it's crowded it's definitely not as far as assume other popular fast food restaurants. However the consistency of the food is worth it the website if there is one. I usually get the Shack Burger with fries and a fifty fifty drink. The fifty fifty is lemonade and ice tea. I've also had the Chick n' Shack, which I also like. It's very tasty and lightly breaded and great chicken sandwich that's definitely worth a try. The Shack Burger is a great tasting quality burger. I like how every thing always taste fresh here. I've ordered here once during the COVID-19 NYC shutdown. The best burger spot; hands down. This location is in the heart of Brooklyn; across the street from The Barclay's Center. Despite the lengthy lines prior to COVID, the rate of service is phenomenal. Meaning you don't have to wait an awfully long time to get acknowledged and serviced. The buzzer you're provided with is very helpful; allows you to step away until your order is ready. No complaints regarding the quality of the food; burgers and fries are made fresh. The food is always hot/great temperature. I also enjoy the shakes, primarily the strawberry one. It's a huge mess anytime there's anything at Barclays, but even aside from that, the food is hit or miss, the service is mediocre at best, and the space itself just isn't that nice and hasn't held up that well over the years. In general I think Shake Shack has gone down hill quite a bit over the last decade but this location in particular is just super rough and inconsistent. There are hostesses checking your temperature at the door. After you order, you wait outside and someone will bring it to you when it is ready. The food is consistently good and fresh. The fries tasted good even when they were cold. The shakes are good not the best. A single burger, fries and a shake will run you about $17. You know, I'm pretty loyal to In N Out but Shake Shack has really grown on me over the years. Let me be clear, I always thought Shake Shack was very good, but was biased by In N Out to not be totally blown away. The more I have it, the more I like it. The burger is always really tasty and juicy with a great ratio of cheese, good bun, and delectable meat. The cheese fries are tasty but very heavy. And the shakes are great (although I still give it to In-N-Out's Neapolitan). This particular location is pretty organized and they've done a good job with covid in terms of having plastic barriers between the tables, which I really appreciate it. You have to be vaccinated now to eat indoors and I appreciate that both the cashiers were checking - the lady at the cashier next to me got in a whole fit of rage over it and ended up not eating there, and I was so glad they held firm amongst her tantrum. This location can get really crowded, especially when there's a game at Barclays, and I will say there's always a crowd of people in front of Shake Shack smoking cigarettes or weed which is super gross. The "system" is on point, you get your food exactly the time you asked via their mobile app. If eating in, have a little patience, I've never had to wait more than 10mins. (With the exception of my recent experience at the OG location... that on another review). My family actually trekked a good 30min train ride to come here for lunch (do some shopping as well). Always: Shack Burgers (x2), Chickn Shack (x2), Cheese fries, Vanilla Milkshake (x2) and a soda. Lunch was very good. The only complaint I have... what on earth is that smell? It was a good burger. I've been having this insane craving specifically for a shake shack burger. It's weird because I'd been fantasizing about a juicy burger for so long that it didn't meet my ultimate satisfaction. But I think after being inside for so long, that only a burger blessed by a unicorn would meet my expectations. Lol I loved all the fresh ingredients. The juicy tomato, the spicy fresh onions, the salty pickles, green lettuce and melty cheese. It felt so heavy in my stomach cause I've been eating fairly healthy. It was greasy happiness. Also the cherry blossom shake was the ishhhhh. It basically tastes like a yummy vanilla milkshake with a hint of floral flavor. I'd definitely get that shake again. The cherry blossom lemonade taste like regular pink lemonade. Tasty and sweet but nothing special. I'd order from them. It was a speedy delivery, I just hate all the extra fees from those apps! I dine at this location whenever I am in the area. This location is clean and staff are nice. No complaint but I prefer their Madison Square Park location more. I tried almost everything in their menu and my top pick is their Shroom Burger (GET THIS). I often find vegetarian burgers dry and bland but this mushroom burger is flavorful and satisfying. They recently launched some new items: Korean-Style Fried Chick'n & Korean Gochujang Fries and of course I need to try them. I always enjoy their fries - it is crispy and fresh. Fries go well with the Gochujang mayo sauce. The sauce is spicy and sweet and balance well with the fries. That is a 4 out of 5 for the fries. On the other hand, my burger is less impressive. That should have been my hint that the burgers were on the smaller side. My order came out pretty fast. I've heard a lot of people compare the burger here to In -N-Outs. The burger here is smaller and softer and doesn't have onion. I think the burger would have been better with onion. Other than that it was good. I thought everything was a little too soft but it still tasted great. I liked that their menu had various seasonal hot cocoa flavors. You're given a buzzer but they call you up by name before your buzzer goes off. There is indoor dining and no outdoor dining. They serve beer here as well as shakes and concretes (like a McFlurry). Update: I came back a 2nd time and had the shroom burger. I wanted to get the stack burger but it was 800 calories. The shroom is only 490. This burger has deep-fried and battered mushroom with oozing cheese inside. The cheese has a slight horseradish flavor (or something yummy that was similar that I couldn't pinpoint). Be careful biting into this thing because the cheese is drippy and hot. I got some Stumptown cold brew coffee that was under $5. The server there was nice and cleaned up my tray for me. I was thrown off when he asked how I was enjoying my meal because I thought it was a fast-food style restaurant where you clean up your own trays (which, for the most part, you do here). read more

To be honest, I don't totally get the hype about Shake Shack. It's a decent place to get a burger (I also saw they recently added a veggie burger which is cool). I had a double cheeseburger and fries. They don't have combo meals and it isn't the cheapest fast food out there. Their buns are super good, thought. I'm not even a big beer drinker but the Shackmeister beer pairs perfectly with the burgers.
