Grabbed a regular burger and an IPA at the Shake Shack in Boulder before my appt at the Apple store around the corner. Ordering on the kiosk was super easy, and the food came out pretty fast. Burger was really good, juicy, and hit the spot. The IPA was cold and went great with it. Chill vibe inside, clean spot, and everyone seemed friendly. I drove 30 minutes and spent $20 for 3 items that ALL had mistakes. My drink (I ordered a large, not sure if the cup I got was even accurate) was mostly ice and not fully filled. (Side note: they're so greedy they keep their soda machine on the other side of the counter). My burger was SAD with THREE (3) onions and hardly a dollop of sauce. I asked for extra sauce on the side and didn't receive that. I also didn't receive a spoon to use for my custard that came as fully chocolate when I ordered half chocolate half vanilla. 3.5 stars. So we've been here a couple of times for promos offered by our phone company. I love that they offer veggie burgers and you can get gluten free buns or have it wrapped in lettuce. I have tried the original burgers as well and they're quite delicious for franchise fast food. Here's my personal problem, they're quite expensive, they don't have sweet potato fries and the buns are made with potatoes which is a high inflammation trigger for me. So will we come for the promos and spend extra cash on dairy free shakes and crispy fries for the kids? Absolutely! But for us the drive and price aren't worth it otherwise. read more

My favorite burgers and in a beautiful setting. The service was efficient and generous. They over poured a few drinks and gave them to us for free. Went to Boulder from Greeley recently to the Apple Store and spotted Shake Shack. Well so glad we did. For me this beats just about any burger. Not so thick that it is hard/messy to eat. Just right. I had the cheeseburger with crunchy onions. The cheese was nice and melty, burger crusty on the edges and the onions a bit of a crunch in every bite. We shared fries and a shake. We never miss an opportunity to eat here. Their chicken sandwiches are some of the best we've ever had, their fries have an excellent seasoning, and their drinks & shakes are always delicious. Husband ordered the shake shack double burger and fries. 2 drinks, We got a table number as they bring out the order. After several minutes ( 19 of them.... nobody in front of us and wasn't busy at all ) I started to wonder where the food was. People after us got their to go orders. Finally went up to the counter and our food was sitting on the counter. Apparently they called our name from behind and around the counter but cannot hear it in the dining room. I would have checked or been listening for our name had they mentioned it to me. I told them I couldn't hear our name called and questioned why we had a table number if they weren't bringing it out. Employee said they got a bit busy so called our name. But then they continued bringing out orders after I went up and grabbed ours. Anyway..... got the food and it was a good burger. Fries are crinkle style and pretty good. I like that the burgers are a " smash" style burger and had good flavor. They also had a crispy chicken burger too. Sorry, as a vegetarian this place was not fun at all for me. The mushroom burger wasn't very good. It was dry, mushy and hard at the same time and really didn't have any flavors I wanted to try a second time. We got the fries and tots, and these were also lacking. I found the fries to be especially dry and over cooked. I was super disappointed because I wanted to eat them to give me something to eat when the mushroom burger was a bomb, but then they were also. Definitely a fan. Is it still fast food? Yes but with a twist. We hadn't wanted to waste a meal when we were staying in NYC a few years back but now I understand why people make a stop at Shake Shack. Even better to have one nearby. We love the patio and it's a fantastic place to stop with kids in tow because it's such fast service. We also purchased online and it was waiting for us when we arrived. The burger is perfect! It really is OK. There is room for improvement but they do pretty well. I have only been a few times as my menu options here are not too broad given medical allowances but I do like the burger customized my way with avocado, better than most of Boulder's other quick burger places. And their lettuce and tomato is fresher than most. My all around favorite chain has not yet put a store anywhere near our community but before the pandemic when I travelled out of state to the west coast, I had plenty of opportunity. I hope that option will return in the future for me but it won't happen soon. However, in Boulder, a town with several very high end fantastic and "too large" for me options, it's wonderful to have a quick take out option these days. The place we have used in recent years has far superior fries but a burger that is not nearly as special. The burger is much more important to me and I can't do it frequently but as a quick and inexpensive treat, this is it. Sorry, but those crinkle fries are not as tasty or appealing as the all natural fresh cut, "skin on" version at the other place. Since I am dairy limited, I do not order myself shakes but my husband absolutely loved his vanilla but wished he could have ordered a smaller one. We did forget to look to see if they make a kiddie size and will check next time. Also, I absolutely loved their recipe for the bun and that it was perfectly griddled. And the other place I mentioned locally in this mall, just serves ketchup etc and I do love the places with a unique special sauce, as my favorite west coast chain does too. We have found the easy reserved pick up parking spaces available and the staff incredibly pleasant. Do give Shake Shack credit opening up a location here under trying times and keeping the food on target. Someday, I hope to explore more of the menu. read more

In April of this year I went to Shake Shack and asked what type of oil they used to fry their food items- fries, chicken etc. I was told it was soy oil. A little digging on the web found this from a study published on ScienceDaily- New UC Riverside research shows soybean oil not only leads to obesity and diabetes, but could also affect neurological conditions like autism, Alzheimer's disease, anxiety, and depression. I wrote to corporate and got a his response: Thank you so much for writing us. I'm sorry about your recent experience at our Boulder Shack. We pride ourselves on the quality of our food, so it's disappointing to hear that the oil we use for our fries known to be ruinous. I've sent your feedback to the Shack's General Manager, Area Director, and our Culinary team so that we can follow up with the team and make necessary improvements and look into this further. They also gave me a $6 off my next order bribe, I mean promo code- sorry couldn't help myself Many months have gone by so I decided to follow up on their progress in serving healthier food. Service was friendly and sharp, the place was clean, and the burger was even tasty. But the POOR VALUE! Oh my goodness, this was the smallest burger I've seen outside of a value menu of a fast food restaurant. For $8, I should not be comparing it to items that cost $0.99. The sad, tiny bacon strips, and the bland Shack Sauce cemented the fast food impression. For much larger burgers in the same price range, try Larkburger, or even Red Robin. read more

Shake Shack is finally open in Boulder and makes a very tasty burger. I got the two stack burger and it was delicious. I love the fact that the burgers were a bit crispy and the bun was very thin so you get a lot of burger taste. I have had Shake Shack back East and the burger was as good as I remembered and I am excited to come back. The only downside is just the burger was $ 10.00 but it seems anymore for a great burger that is unfortunately often the case.
