Korean BBQ
Mari B.

We do need more Hot Pot places around the city! Stopped by on a weekend when they opened and a line was already forming! Staff is welcoming and seat you quickly. It's a well or orchestrated machine in there! Drink orders and broths ordered and then you're off to the buffet of meats. The buffet has a lot of meats to select for the Hot Pot or grill. Plus some good sushi and dumplings. Kimchi and seaweed salad were fresh. The fun part was also watching the veggies pass by your table on the conveyor belt! Opted for miso and made the mistake of rice noodle vs ramen. Noodles disintegrated (rookie move). It was a lot of fun putting stuff in the broth and delicious. We grilled and galbi was a little fatty but bulgogi was good. Cream puffs were meh but if you come here, you're coming got the true star - the Hot Pot. Street and lots are paid parking. They have a small lot out back with 7 spots. Also expect a line during any popular mealtimes. We went on a Sunday around 8:20 pm and they weren't taking any more names for the wait list.

Say wOw! Super cool! Highly recommended they keep the food full. The staff is hustling. It was something I never experienced before. It was a super cool place. The food was great. This place is super fun! You pick your broth and then grab veggies/meat from the self service station and then it cooks in the broth. I really liked the meat options! They had multiple beefs, pork, and chicken. The only downside is that you smell like the restaurant when you leave.

I absolutely loved Shabu Shabu! I have been hearing from friends for so long how good and how much fun it is for so long and I finally went. It was worth the wait! You can either choose to do the Shabu Shabu which is hot pot, the Korean BBQ, or the combo of both. All of my friends and I opted to do both since it was our first time going. There's a huge buffet of foods to choose from and you can get as much as you want from it. Then you bring it to your table to cook on either the BBQ plates or broths of your choosing. I picked the Tonkatsu which will probably be my go to choice. I also tried the Szechuan spicy which was very spicy! If you're not great on spice like me, probably not the way to go. Nice to try a little taste though. In addition to the regular things for hot pot and KBBQ they also have some sushi options which is a fun addition. While definitely not the point of the restaurant, the desserts were definitely a little lacking. I wanted a sweet treat at the end of my meal, but there wasn't really an option that quite caught my eye. All that being said, my friends and I all had such a great time and I'm definitely so excited to go back. It is a little expensive, but I thought it was worth it. One thing to be creative about is parking. The parking garage next to the restaurant used to be free, but it seems that it has switched to paid within the last few months. For two hours in the garage it was about $10. There is paid street parking which is a little cheaper.

Hot Pot set up at the bar. Easy to grab ingredients for the hot pot.

Great place for delicious food and quick and easy service! I went with a friend and we got seated at the bar around the food belt since we only wanted hot pot. All the food to cook is easily accessible and unlimited. The server was great and did a good job checking on us to be sure we were doing okay even though it was a buffet style concept!

Tripe

Great variety of ingredients. Fresh! Decent service. Crowded but not noisy. Great value!

I went here to this location for the first time. I love the roomy seating area and buffet area is spacious and clean. Way too much to choose from to be honest. Everything was delicious and plenty. Service was amazing fast and great. The owner was there and he came to make sure we were happy and asked if we had any other wishes. This location is definitely much better than the downtown location. Plenty parking too. It's a definite must go experience.

Hot pot at shabu shabu was such a fun experience! You pick your broth, add your meats and vegetables, and cook everything right at your table. It's cozy, interactive, and perfect for lingering over dinner with friends

While in the area, we stopped in for dinner one night and the place was packed, so we sat next to the bar area with the conveyer belt. The food was good but there needs to be more variety of vegetables in our opinion. The service was good. $26.99 per person isn't bad.

Yes this is a very nice place to eat with family! Its worth every penny! Though is high but you got what you paid for. We recommended!

Maggie C.

A really fun concept with the conveyor belt. Limited options with the carb choices, it's either ramen, rice noodle, or rice cake only, and the only vegetables that I saw that were green were lettuce, cabbage, broccoli and bok choy. This place gets BUSY. I was dining for one only, so I was seated immediately at the bar. Two of the sakes that I requested were sold out. They also have sushi, fruit, some side dishes like kimchi and seaweed, and dessert. I sure left feeling full.

Now... if only I could remember where I am staying. LOL. Just kidding! I made it. I got so lit in Japanese whiskey flights that I ordered enough food for two people. The "Flight to Tokyo" lived up to its namesake tremendously. That dang whiskey is wicked man. Combined with the beers that go down like water and you may be like me.... Wasted Soup dumplings are so damn cool. It's also either an engineering marvel or some sort of biblical miracle. How is the soup born inside the little dumpling?? So many questions!! I had some here and they were sure tasty!! I also had some killer crispy fried pork belly and some kick ass twice fried Korean wings!! Pork belly had tremendous umami flavors and was sticky sweet and yummy all at once! Loved it! But then came the Star.... I love chicken wings as much as I love life! That my friend, is a whole fucking lot!! I am more full of myself than you could possibly imagine. I loved these particular chicken wings a little more than life. I walked through downtown Nashville alone, on a random weeknight, just to eat these wings because I saw them on Yelp. I had already eaten dinner at Eddie V's earlier in the evening, but these wings called me from more than a mile away... Come eat me, Adam.... Is all I could hear after I saw others pictures of the wings.... Shhhh. Wings. I can't. But you must, said the wings.... I can't, I have no transportation.... You have two feet still, the wings said... Guess who won that argument? '26 - 23

The ambience is bright and energetic, with fun neon signs and decor. The space feels open and spacious with plenty of seating. We started our night with the Pork Belly Bao Buns, but since they were out of pork belly, we tried the Chinese BBQ Pork instead. I wasn't upset because they were phenomenal. The Soup Dumplings were just as amazing, but the Roti Canai (Malaysian flatbreads with curry sauce) stole the show. The curry was rich with the perfect amount of spice. You're missing out if you skip the appetizers here. For my entrée, I ordered the Hong Kong Wonton Noodle Soup, and all I can say is wow. The broth and tender wontons were the perfect combination. My boyfriend loved his Pad Thai as well, and the only downside was the portion size for the price. I want to give a huge shoutout to our server, Jaylen, for making the experience top-notch. He was incredibly attentive, patient, and offered great recommendations through the night. Hawkers is on my list for date nights, ladies' nights, or a casual evening out (especially for drinks and appetizers!)

Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. There were two staff members present: one behind the bar and one in the dining are. After being seated, no one acknowledged us. We waited about 15 minutes without anyone offering water, taking our order, or even checking in. What made it more frustrating was when another guest came in and was immediately greeted and served water, while we were still being ignored. At that point, it became clear we weren't going to receive service, so we decided to leave. As we walked out, the staff watched us go without saying a word or attempting to address the situation. We ended up going to The Smiling Elephant, where we had a completely different experience--friendly service and great food. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

We added a side of peanut sauce, which was a game changer for the fresh rolls. The tom kha was a little tart for my taste, but was loaded with veggies that were cooked perfectly. The dumplings were super tender, and the fresh rolls are my favorite in town! For entrees, we got the pad thai and pad see-ew with rice noodles. Both absolutely delish, and we loved how the pad see-ew was prepared simply and traditionally with Chinese broccoli. Those portions are not to be reckoned with... we ended up taking two boxes full of noodles home! Their sticky rice with mango was our favorite bite of the night. This is a really cute restaurant and from the parking lot I knew it was a local favorite. Chicken and cabbage dumplings were excellent. Pad Thai was good, as mentioned. The sauce wasn't very flavorful and while I like onions, this dish had A LOT. Red and green onion and not consistently chopped. The green onions were very large, fibrous pieces that were difficult to eat. I also like the egg component but this dish had a lot of egg and seemed to be a large filler. We also had the pad see ew with chicken. Also good, but not outstanding. The service was top notch and the restrooms were very clean.

The bibimbap was pretty standard, full of colorful veggies and a good portion of beef on top. I was a little disappointed that the rice never got crispy despite ordering it in a sizzling hot bowl. My favorite part about dolsap bibimbap is the crunch of the almost burnt rice, so if I hadn't been full from the bbq, I might have been slightly sad.
