Good food good place. Good bbq and a must of u are in Nashville great view and great food had ribs and chicken sandwich and pulled pork sandwich all pass. Good fast service.
Another Yelper was right- it is cafeteria style where you line up and tell them what you want. Easy and efficient. Sauces/butter/napkins etc near the seating areas upstairs and downstairs. Bathrooms are single occupants rooms- upstairs and downstairs. Decent bbq offerings and good sauces!
Visiting Nashville...my wife and I both wanted BBQ. The locals all recommended Jack's Bar-B-Que. We ordered the Combo (any 3 meats) with sides...Texas Beef Brisket, Smoked Texas Sausage, St. Louis Style Pork Ribs, Mac & Cheese, Potato Salad, and Corn Bread. It was delicious. It was enough food for two people to split. Our server Tiffany was super pleasant and she was a wealth of knowledge regarding the history of Jack's Bar-B-Que...she was an excellent "Brand Ambassador." If you're visiting Nashville and you're in the mood for BBQ, please consider trying Jack's Bar-B-Que.
We stumbled upon this shop before starting our night of drinking. I love the set up! Reminded me of a cafeteria where you get to choose your meats and sides. The pulled pork and brisket were tasty. I really enjoyed the baked beans. The toast and Mac and cheese weren't anything special. There is plenty of seating upstairs! Don't forget to grab bbq sauce!
Jack's Bar-B-Que came highly recommended so I had to try it out while in Nashville. The fact that I could smell the BBQ from around the corner let me know that I was heading to the right place lol. We arrived on a Saturday around 2pm and it was pretty packed but the line moved fast. I chose the Brisket plate with a side of Potato Salad & Baked Beans. Since we noticed there weren't any seats in the main dining area, they informed us that there was additional seating area either on the patio or on the second floor so we took our food and headed upstairs. The Brisket was pretty good and tender but I hate that they cut off most of the fat from my portion of meat, that's the best part. My friend ordered the Ribs & Smoked Chicken and both were delicious and seasoned very well. The Potato Salad and Baked Beans were okay but the Green Beans were delicious. Definitely check them out while in Nashville! With the location being right on Broadway, it's very convenient and you will not be disappointed!
Tasty BBQ. I enjoyed the beef brisket plate. It came with two sides, I picked macaroni and coleslaw and I tried the chess pie...all was tasty.
Jacks has become one of my favorite bbq spots in Nashville because of their food and service. The staff are wonderful, friendly, and crack jokes while you order. I love it. The food portions you will not be disappointed. We usually share a 2 plate combo because it is sooo much food. We chose the pulled pork and brisket. I absolutely love their brisket it is tender and moist and needs no sauce. But they do make their own bbq sauces which I recommend trying. The brisket my boyfriend absolutely loves as it has a nice bark to it and just so tender. Their Mac n cheese is delicious as it is gooey. And hands down one of the better Mac n cheeses in the area. The fried apples were so good we were fighting each other over each slice because it was subtly sweet and delicious. They also have assorted soft drinks, beers, and of course the staple southern sweet tea. I love that they have multiple levels within the restaurant. I think there are a total of four floors if you count the upstairs outside patio to sit on.
Service: Even though there is a line out the door, service is cafeteria style so pretty fast average around 15 mins. You order and seat yourself downstairs or upstairs (indoor up stair seating/ patio). There's a CCTV camera that will tell you how many seats are available upstairs so you don't have to check. 3 meat combo (Tennessee Pork Shoulder, Texas Beef Brisket, and Smoked Texas Sausage): Plenty amount of sliced meat and sides to share between two people if you want to feel about 75% full. Beef brisket: So tender and juicy. Definitely get it. Tennessee Pork Shoulder: shredded pork meat was on the drier side, no sauce. Smoked Texas Sausage: was a little bit on the saltier side, but still good and juicy. Yelp check in: Dry Rub that you can redeem the whole dry rub bottle. It's not a little powder cup that I thought it would be. Sides: Cole Slaw: Very fresh and dish is light on the mayo. Corn: Cream of corn not corn on the cob. Great side dish, on the sweeter side.

Pork is pulled in front of you and chopped and is very good. Various barbecue sauces to choose from. They offer both soda, water, and variety of bottle beers. Plenty of seating both downstairs and upstairs. They also have single restroom for men and separately for women. Convenient and reasonable choice if you are enjoying bar hoping downtown.
Let's break this disaster down: Pros: 1. Cornbread was good. 2. Loved the historical items used for decorations. Cons: 1. Greasy! 2. The brisket and the ribs had no smoke flavor or marbling. 3. The service was fast but aloof. 4. The cost for four people with two meat plates, waters and a tip was $150. Yikes.
Do what the locals do for Barbque We asked the doorman where to get bar b que before leaving and he directed us to Jacks for brisket. The place is old and traditional, on Broadway, in the thick. There was no line when we arrived but we didn't have time to time. The butcher at the counter pulled the freshly prepared brisket out like it was a cake and sliced off the delicately prepared piece of meat. It was seasoned to perfection, cooked medium with a seared ribbon of fact that enhanced the flavor. We got sides: Mac n cheese, green beans, baked beans and cucumber salad. We were happy all around. Thank you Jack for not disappointing. We also walked the location and saw multiple seating options and all clean spaces, even outside.
Old school bbq place. You walk in, order at the counter while they put your food on the tray, and then you find a place to sit either indoor or outdoor. If it's busy, it's hard to find a place to sit. The people working there are very friendly. My only complaint is that the floor is always very slippery.
I'm really at a 3.5 but upped it to 4 because that pork shoulder really is GOOD! The place is right on Broadway in a prime location, but this small/narrow kind of a divey place was just that... a dive. That doesn't take away from the meat's quality and flavor. The usual white bread bun accompanied it, which I didn't eat, I was there for the MEAT! I'd probably opt to go elsewhere in the future, but glad I could try Jack's. It hit the spot at that moment.
Famous jacks bbq is located on broadway with lots of tarsty bbq treats from brisket to ribs n chicken. The service is very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has lots of seating upstairs. The food was very good and tasty. Most of the meats were juicy. The bbq packs were very delicious. We loved their sides. read more

Had a great visit 6/10. Deli style order at the counter with plenty of seating on the 1st and 2nd floor and patio on a Tuesday night. One of the only places that isn't playing music, which is great if you're looking to sit and talk before checking other bars out. Staff at the counter were friendly and efficient. GET THE RIBS!!! So so good, falls right off of the bone. Great portion for price. I'd probably skip the sausage next time but that's just personal preference. read more
Best brisket I've had in Nashville and among the best I've had anywhere, including Texas. Brisket was cut lean, sides were tasty, cornbread came standard and was delicious and plenty of local and domestic beers to choose from. Seating upstairs was a nice bonus with views along Broadway. Recommend! read more

The food is always good here, very pricey non the less delicious so be ready to pay! Service is okay I mean you stand in line, order you food, get it, pay for it and go seat yourself and serve your own drinks oh so I guess service to myself was outstanding lol! What I did not like at at was the tip part! I'm not sure how it happened but I think it's the way they add tip on the machine! But I ended up paying like $35 dollar tip which WAS NOT what I wanted to tip!!! But unfortunately I did not see until after we had already left! Maybe the cashier should ask if amount of tip is right!!! It can get somewhat loud but always a place to sit upstairs. read more
I haven't tried other Nashville BBQ joints so I'm not really sure where Jack's shakes out. For me, it was just ok. The ribs had a few good bites, but for the most part were dry and chewy. Mac n cheese was just ok. My wife did say the pulled pork was very good. I would definitely go back, but for me, it's just middle of the road. I can be a BBQ snob though, so take that for what it's worth. read more

For being right in the Broadway strip I'm always a little hesitant about how authentic a place like this would be. I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing smells and friendly way we were greeted by the counter staff. Sausage is amazingly juicy and the pork shoulder has loads of flavor and not dry at all. Definitely try the beans!!!! read more

Solid BBQ and definitely worth trying while in Nashville. Some great options here and great environment. Great tourist location and worth the visit. Traditional Tennessee BBQ, sauces are great, and customer service was on point. Take the time to stop by, and also experience the culture of downtown Nashville. read more
( This review is for the Trinity location; I couldn't find a Yelp listing for anything but Broadway.) Mixed feelings about Jack's. Credit where credit is due: - The brisket is world class. Great smoke ring; just a hint of a fat cap to keep the meat moist. Really great. - Pulled Pork Shoulder: Terrific! I like my Q without much (any?) sauce and this pork stands on its own. Moist, smoky, meaty, lean. Really great. But... - The sausage was (how do I say this politely?)... not good. In fact, I couldn't finish it. The meat was spongy and greasy. No bueno. - The sides were meh. Slaw was swimming in vinegar; cornbread was dry; mac'n'cheese was flavorless. - "Baked" Beans were straight from a can. - Fries weren't not an option (but a bag of Lay's was). I'm a traditionalist: I want my Q with a side of slaw and fries. So this was a let-down. Overall I love the ambiance of the place. And the smell is heaven. But, overall, Jack's failed to fulfill our expectations. Probably won't be back. read more
We picked this spot on a whim while strolling down Broadway between music acts. Decor was right on the money and the smell inside the establishment was heavenly! Pretty standard barbecue fair but done quite well, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Staff was welcoming and I would not hesitate to return. read more

We had a 4 hr layover so we uberred to downtown to grab some lunch. We ordered at the counter and got the 3 meat combo- ribs, brisket and pulled pork. The ribs were fine but the brisket and pork were not good at all. It lacked flavor, not hot. Just tasted like it's been sitting on the tray since yesterday. The sides were nothing to write about. The staff were nice and courteous though but the food was bad. I even felt sick right after. read more
This was good BBQ. I had the pulled pork and my husband had the rib sandwich. I loved that someone was sitting outside to let us know there was more seating upstairs. We ordered at the counter and received our food immediately. I kinda loved the guy taking our order was listening intently while tossing buns about two feet into the warmer. The food was good, but not quite knock your socks off. In their defense, it was 7:30 PM. Great atmosphere. Country music playing, but low enough a person can chat. I would recommend. read more
4.5 stars. While walking Broadway, we were drawn in by the delicious smell of bbq. The menu looked great so we had to order. We both ordered a combo and loved it. Don't expect much from the interior, it's a typical dive bbq joint, but they make up for it in the food quality. The portions were huge and everything was delicious. One of the most famous places to get barbecue from try this place Jack's if you're on Broadway pretty cool and unique experience. The barbecue is really good. The atmosphere was pretty cool and chilled. You can't go wrong with this place. Pretty cool part is that you get your food and then after you can go upstairs to eat. Ordered a large platter for three people, and it was perfect. The barbecue sauces that they provided was really good. Make sure you try jacks very nice people that work there. read more
Great BBQ, got the pork shoulder with double side of mac and cheese, the pork had really good flavor and was very good not fatty at all. The Mac and cheese was very creamy and tasty. We were driving through and definitely wanted some barbecue! We were not disappointed! How neat when you check in with Yelp you get a F R E E hand rub! The employees were all very nice. We ordered the three meat combo. We got ribs, sausage and brisket! The brisket was so tender, the sausage was juicy and perfect. The ribs the meat was falling off the bone. The cucumber salad was my F A V O R I T E! We also ordered mashed potatoes and beans. I'm keto so I don't get these foods often. The mashed potatoes were fluffy - it's hard for me to comment because I'm so used to cauliflower potatoes but I did find it delicious! The brand had a Smokey flavor yum! There's tons of seating throughout and even upstairs! The ambiance is kind of loud since the doors are always open and bands play outside plus the bars. read more

We went to the downtown location on Broadway. We got a brisket and a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans. The line is setup like the school lunch line. The sandwiches were stacked high with meat. Sorry I didn't take any pictures but we ate them all the way up. The beans were smacking. We ate in the upstairs dining room. There were 3 different sauces provided on the side in packets. I preferred the KC sauce. Service was good. I wouldn't rate the ambiance. It is a nice place to get good food. Next time I will try the location in midtown which was across the street from the hotel we stayed at. read more
We love eating at Jacks bbq when visiting Nashville! It's always on our list every time we are in town. The place smell amazing as soon as you walk in the door. You know you're in for a treat! Many times the line can be long but don't let that discourage you. It goes fast and the people serving are so nice. The hardest part is deciding what to get as everything is so delicious. I always have the hardest time picking sides. They have so many options. Today I decided on green beans and potato salad to go with my pulled pork. I was happy with my choice. I also really like their Mac and cheese, cream corn and baked beans. As for sauces they have a nice variety including St. Louis sweet, Tennessee original and sweet hot. I like to mix the hot with the St. Louis sweet. Can't wait to come back to jacks! I'd highly recommend giving it a try when in Nashville! read more

Ribs + Mac N Cheese + Corn Bread -- Comfort and juicy savory goodness all on one plate! As for the service, the night we dropped in, it was pretty lousy. Instead of taking our order the guy behind the counter kept talking to a customer and didn't greet us for awhile, we almost left. It was pretty rude and not hospitable. BUT-- the first bite of my ribs made it all worth it. The ribs are SO good you want more and more. We sat facing the front window and people watched while listening to the background music :) It's one of those places where the food's so good they don't have to be friendly, if that makes sense. Just eat your food and go. I'd come here again. read more

I'd just got to town. The concierge recommended Jacks. I ordered online and picked my food up. It was only about 12 minutes away. Customer service was great. My order was correct. I had 2 different sauces in my bag to try. Both were great. What I didn't like was the Mac and cheese. It didn't taste like cheese. The ribs were like jerky. The end piece I had was barely chewable. The Green beans were good and the brisket was good. read more

BBQ hit the spot prior to concert at the Ryman. Perfect location. Nothing fancy, just super food. I had the pork shoulder sandwich, Mac& cheese and potato salad. Everything was hot and tasty. read more
