Fish and shrimp combo
Britney C.

Saw this place featured on a Netflix show and came for lunch during my visit to Savannah. Food is cooked to order so there was a short wait...I ordered the fish and shrimp combo. The shrimp was bomb! The fish was ok. I also ordered the Malika juice which is was just red Kool aid lol, too much sugar for me. I would come back whenever I'm in Savannah for the fried shrimp.

place has been here I know ever since I came to savannah over 10 years ago and never came because it looked small and hard to get to. from what I see all that is still true for my first visit. I would wish they would relocate but who am I to say. anyway I first pulled in and couldn't park because the parking isn't controlled and ppl parked crazy. service is slow and u have to scream thru a small box to place ur order.. as so far as the food I'm still wondering what salaam beef means and Malika means for the juice. food quality is good not great. burger served on regular wheat bread. food not seasoned like I thought should fish should be. I saw this restaurant on Netflix and had to try it.

Gotta get the Shabazz Fish Supreme Combo

Saw this establishment on Fresh, Fried and Crispy on Netflix so I had to stop by and try the food. The Shabazz Fish Supreme Combo was ridiculously good. The side of fries was nice and fresh and the punch was very good. The customer service was very nice, the owner even gave my daughter an ice cream cone . The exterior of the building really gives the small local business appeal. With how busy it was though, it would make more sense if they open up a second window for pickup while the other window can be for orders.

I was greeted by a friendly lady at the window. It was my first time and she was patient with me. I ordered fish and it was great. I would go again next time I am in Savannah. Huge portions and I had leftovers.

My husband wanted to visit this restaurant because he saw it on Netflix. And the guy on Netflix did a great job making it seem as if this were the place to eat! The first thing my husband said was it looked cleaner on tv. I told him I'm sure it did because they prolly cleaned it up for tv. Anywho, the food was very expensive to me for the amount of food that you get. My son and I ordered fried shrimp dinner and for the price I thought we would've gotten jumbo shrimp. The shrimp was very small. My daughter ordered the sandwich that we saw on tv. It was actually pretty good. My husband got the fish dinner. He seemed to enjoy it. All of us ordered fries and all of our fries were cold. Ummm I'm not sure that I'd eat here again after traveling from Atlanta. I would hope that because it was on Netflix that the business would do a better job of making sure customers receive the experience that we saw on tv.

I saw this restaurant on Fresh, Fried and Crispy and I wanted to try it. I'm from Chicago and since my visit here I have been underwhelmed with a lot of the food. We came around 2pm and it wasn't busy. I ordered the fish sandwich meal and it didn't disappoint. It reminds me of a place in Chicago called Dock's. I was really happy that it came with some red kool-aid. If it wasn't kool-aid it tasted like it. My only complaint was the I didn't have enough drink to wash it down.

Best damn fish sandwich I've had in a long time. Well worth stopping on our way to Jekyll Island. The juice was refreshing and and the fries were hot, fresh, and delicious. The Shabazz was shabangin! Definitely coming back

Our server, Jackson, was equally impressive. The service simply could not have been better. I prefer my oysters roasted, and Sorry Charlie's offers six varieties. Unfortunately for me, four contain pork, which I do not eat. The fifth, Nduja, was unavailable, leaving the Garlic and Parmesan. As it turned out, they were excellent, so no complaints there. The beer deserves a mention as well. I had an ale that was cold and fresh, just as it should be. Even better was happy hour, when a beer normally priced at $7 was only $3. That's a discount of nearly 60%! Happy hour also features some oysters for just $1 or $2 each, which is quite a deal. We shared the She-Crab Soup, which was every bit as good as anything we get back home in Maryland, where we know a thing or two about crab. The Blue Crab Cakes were Savannah-style and slightly overdone, as the accompanying photos show, but nonetheless very good. There were plenty of other menu items we would have liked to try, but we finished with the Skillet Brownie, served hot in a small cast-iron skillet. It was pretty commercial and nothing particularly memorable, but heck, we came for Sorry Charlie's oysters, not Sorry Charlie's skillet brownie. The bottom line: Excellent oysters, very good seafood, cold beer at terrific happy-hour prices, and outstanding service from Savannah and Jackson. The kind of restaurant we would happily visit again, with plenty still on the menu worth exploring.

So, that was already a great sign - considering the restuarnt was quite busy. We opted to sit outdoors to enjoy the lovely weather, and as soon as we were seated, we were greeted by our server, and it was smooth sailing. Our drinks and food arrived quickly, and everything was pretty tasty. The restaurant has ample seating throughout, ranging from indoor to outdoor and rooftop seating. It has a modern feel to it, with nautical decor to play on the Oyster Bar it is known for. The staff are super chipper (or so they were that day we arrived). And the overall service was pretty quick in my opinion, even during the start of their dinner rush. So, overall, I was already pretty impressed. For the food, we decided to share the Pomegranate Ceviche, which included their market fish, pomegranate, pickled green tomatoes, shallots, serrano peppers, and okra hot sauce. It was served with fried wontons as a chip substitute, and WOW, oh WOW! I had never had fried wontons used as chips before, and it was absolutely delightful. For our entree, we also shared the Seared Red Snapper (which included sweet & sour bell pepper escovitch, spinach, and yellow rice), and it was YUM!! I don't remember the exact drink I ordered, but it was also very tasty. Overall, the first-time experience was quite delightful. I would definitely visit Sorry Charlie's again! I'd also like to try their Brunch out as I heard it was also a vibe / great experience.

I enjoyed the ceviche as my starter, the pork chop as my entree, and the skillet brownie for dessert. Fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. The host was warm and welcoming. My waiter was attentive and knowledgable and guided me into food and drink choices I very much enjoyed. I'm new to Savannah and am trying out a variety of restaurants. This restaurant's pricing and portions were very fair. It's also a quieter atmosphere than the others right on the river. You can enjoy conversation and the company of your loved ones. Experience a robust and flavorful meal here and then take a stroll along the river as a nightcap. Your tastebuds will thank you. It was a little bonus that they're dog-friendly and my pup and I could enjoy the outdoor seating together.

Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city.

It's right in the heart of downtown off Congress Street and across from the Rail Pub. There is street parking, but being downtown, it can definitely be limited. I finally stopped in after dinner hours around 7pm on Friday. Since it was date night we ordered the raw tower, which comes stacked with everything under the sun: oysters, shrimp, snow crab, lobster and mussels. I also ordered scallops and asked if it could be prepared without butter because of my dairy allergy. The kitchen has no problem making them with olive oil instead. Super delicious! I enjoyed it so much that I came back the following weekend with friends. I made reservations online during happy hour (4-6pm) and we were lucky enough to be seated in the small back dining room tucked away behind the bar. Our server was wonderful and very attentive, and I especially appreciated that she actually paid attention to the allergy notes I included with my reservations. Of course we all ordered a dozen oysters each because they're $1 during happy hour and who can beat that? I ordered the scallops again because I liked them so much the first time, and around the table we had a mixture of lobster, mussels, dressed oysters, turtle cheesecake, finishing everything off with espresso martinis. Hands down delicious. The service was top-tier too. Our server never hovered, but somehow always checked on us at just the right time and made sure we had everything we needed. Two great visits so far and I'll absolutely be back to try more of the menu.
