This place was great. The lobby was pretty shabby but you're not coming here to chill. It's not a spa. You come here to get your car smogged and you get the hell out. The person there was pretty friendly and he was quick. I was out in 30 mins. They had a special with certificate for $48.95. My car is in great shape so I knew it would pass. Boom bam done. It's right behind the DMV in Fairfield. Let's go! Supper your local business. read more

Conveniently located behind DMV. Very fast. friendly and efficient service. I was in and out of there in about 30 minutes.

Astonishingly swift and efficient. This was my first visit to the Fairfield branch of SG smog. It was definitely busier than the Vallejo branch. but in spite of what felt like a crowd, they completed the paperwork and smogged my vehicle in less than 15 minutes. Even better there was a great yelp special on and the total price including the certificate was only $48. Roughly 20 bucks less than the same time last year. So submit your request for a bid using the Yelp projects feature to get in on the special. It's totally worth it. read more

Well, to my surprise this smog spot is right next to DMV. It was so convenient because I needed the smog to complete my car transfer. I literally got in line with DMV'S online place holder and waited my turn while getting my smog test. The smog was started and completed within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, I misplaced my wallet, but the owner was very patient and sympathetic. I sat in his waiting room while my daughter brought me money from home. The whole experience with SG Smog was smooth as butter. Yes, I got my tags & new license plates from DMV. I would highly recommend going here for your next smog. Location is everything!! read more

Came here based on the good reviews and low price. I arrived at 7:58am but the business didn't actually open until around 8:15am. Thankfully, they did the smog check very quickly and I was done with my smog check before 9am. This is a Star Certified Smog Check location. All in all I recommend going here. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that my experience with them opening 15 minutes late may have just been an anomaly. read more

SG smog is the best! They are first come first serve and do not take appointments, so it's great for walk in smog checks. Prices are always fair and service has always been quick for me. Recommend going early morning or early afternoon, seems to be slower around those times. read more

It was quick & the quote included the certificate at a very reasonable price. Thank you!

They were very quick and got my truck done in a timely manner. They lose one star because when time to pay the original charge said $98 but had been quoted $48. Good priced smog shop by the DMV, was able to come back and retest without breaking the bank after failing smog first time.

This was my 2nd time here as always it was a great service. Fast, efficient and the price was reasonable. This time around I inquired about pricing and availability. The response from the owner was really quick. The following day I came in to get my car smog. The guy who helped me was friendly and insightful. All in all, it was a great experience. Asked for a quote thru Yelp and response was in minutes. Able to walk in and got my smog check and was out in under 30 mins with what looked like 2 ppl ahead of me when I arrived. I think it's a 1 man operation and he's got a good flow going. Thank you sir. read more

The price was good, and the service was quick. The young man in charge could learn a couple of things regarding customer service. The Valpak coupon is very deceitful, because it has a photo of a waiting room with snacks and beverages that does not exist! But if you want a quick in and out at a good price, sure. read more

SG Smog was quick and accurate with their smog check and the price was right. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend them.

What's the #1 thing you want from a smog check place? FAST SERVICE. Since Cordelia Smog closed, this place was the next nearest smog check place in Fairfield for me. I walked in at 11:30am on a Monday, and was done and out the door within 7 mins. There were no other customers. I paid $88 for a 2012 Kia Sorento. Not sure if that's a good deal or not but it's all about speed and convenience of service for me. read more

Great quick service. Message for potential discounts! The inside lounge was not the cleanest but you're not there very long.

The location of the center is convenient to the DMV office. At this most recent smog check, however, we wanted to review their practice -- to see how long we could maintain control of the car key for the service being rendered, as well as remain present with the vehicle during the service; basically to have little need to relinquish keys over until necessary and the service was complete. However, we became separated from all our keys in a huff and anxiety was high. RESOLUTION: It would serve the customers right -- with a reminder -- to maintain control of their keys at all times. We suggest that the customer hand over only the car key when and where necessary, and remove all other personal keys. This message is particularly a shout-out to alert senior citizens in order to maintain their personal power, particularly since all personal identification is also a part of this office's business standards, i.e. home address, phone number, credit card information, etc. Your keys are an important part of your life, safety and privacy. Perhaps, the office could make it a standard practice to request valued customers to remove any and all other keys from the car key needed for security and protection purposes -- for all involved. read more

They charge way too much for a basic smog ($109), when competing smog shops in the area charge $60 average, I learned my lesson there. Had 2 customers ahead of me but I still ended up waiting 2 hours. Guy behind the counter could work on better customer service because he had a bit of an attitude. read more

The owner Sudarshan was professional, pleasant, fast, and gave great prices. Make sure to message him directly on yelp and you will get a great price! The waiting area is very clean, has some treats you can get and also a comfortable couch. You won't be there long though. Smog test took 10 minutes, and was electronically sent to the DMV which just happens to be next door! They also have a Vallejo office that is across the street from the DMV. It's obvious this is a hard working and caring shop and I can't endorse it more. Pro's: -price -fast service -comfortable waiting area with snacks you can get -next door to DMV -right off of hwy 80. Con's: -None! Please post on social media and tell your friends. Even if they just drive by the place, they could be in and out with smog for the length of time it takes to drink a soda! Thanks Sudarshan! great experience read more

I asked for a quote on Yelp. Went to SG Smog the other day to get the usual smog check. Service was fast and easy. No appointment required. Price competitive with other shops in the area (make sure you look out for coupons).
