I literally got in line with DMV'S online place holder and waited my turn while getting my smog test. The smog was started and completed within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, I misplaced my wallet, but the owner was very patient and sympathetic. I sat in his waiting room while my daughter brought me money from home. This place was great. The lobby was pretty shabby but you're not coming here to chill. It's not a spa. You come here to get your car smogged and you get the hell out. The person there was pretty friendly and he was quick. I was out in 30 mins. They had a special with certificate for $48.95. My car is in great shape so I knew it would pass. Boom bam done. It was definitely busier than the Vallejo branch. but in spite of what felt like a crowd, they completed the paperwork and smogged my vehicle in less than 15 minutes. At this most recent smog check, however, we wanted to review their practice -- to see how long we could maintain control of the car key for the service being rendered, as well as remain present with the vehicle during the service; basically to have little need to relinquish keys over until necessary and the service was complete. However, we became separated from all our keys in a huff and anxiety was high. RESOLUTION: It would serve the customers right -- with a reminder -- to maintain control of their keys at all times. We suggest that the customer hand over only the car key when and where necessary, and remove all other personal keys. This message is particularly a shout-out to alert senior citizens in order to maintain their personal power, particularly since all personal identification is also a part of this office's business standards, i.e. home address, phone number, credit card information, etc. Your keys are an important part of your life, safety and privacy. Perhaps, the office could make it a standard practice to request valued customers to remove any and all other keys from the car key needed for security and protection purposes -- for all involved. read more
