Issue: 2010 Toyota Corolla Blowing Warm Air. A few weeks ago, my AC started blowing warm air. After a few drives with the ambient temperature being 80-85 degrees, it was dreadful. After an attempt to use the R134A charging kit, I knew the AC system had a big leak somewhere as it showed 0 psig. Without the proper tools, knowledge and no time to fix myself, I was referred to this shop for their honest work. I called and Johnny picks up. He took down my information and proposed to drop off the vehicle in the AM the following day. I was close to cancelling my appointment because my ride to the shop (my wife) got called into work (yay, Nurse life). However, Johnny was understanding and instead of being frustrated or upset, he was trying to help the best he could. Had I lived closer, he was willing to give me a ride home himself but he proposed that I come on by for a diagnostic at the minimum which would take at most an hour. I was on my way! Upon my arrival, he hooked up his AC test system and found the leak within 20 minutes on my AC Condenser. The crack was likely caused by a rock on my travel back from LA a few weeks ago (damn I-5). His wife provided me an estimate and we moved forward with the repairs. Parts were delivered within the hour and Johnny was able to perform the replacement, charge the system, and ensure there were no additional leaks within a 2-3 hours. To put it in perspective, I was in at 9am and out by 12:30pm. His wife was very welcoming, charming and fun to talk to. Driving home, the AC worked better than ever before as it blew really cold air. I was driving from Chico to Oakland down the 80 freeway thru Fairfield when my dashboard alert started flashing and beeping on my 2010 Acura. I pulled off into the Acura dealership on Auto Road, but all the mechanics had left at 4:00 and it was now 4:30. I feared if I drive too far I might blow the engine. I found Hi-Tech on Yelp and it was open until 6:00 and only 1.6 miles away. They quickly connected my car to the computer and told me the engine and transmission are fine (whew!). The only real problem was that the tire pressure was off on the tires! He adjusted the pressure on all 4 tires, re-set the system and even put on a missing valve cap. I was so relieved and ready to pay him when he said "no charge ". He even refused the tip I tried to give to him! So gratifying that there are still competent and honest places like Hi-Tech auto center out there!! I'd definitely go back if I had a problem with my car. read more

Based on Yelp reviews I called Hi-Tech Auto for some diagnostic advice. SJ the owner helped troubleshoot a persistent vacuum leak I tried to concur myself. I also had a valve cover gasket leak that was dripping oil onto the exhaust manifold and smoking. I paid to have him replace the gasket as it involved disconnecting the high pressure fuel lines that I was unfamiliar with. He diagnosed the vacuum leak and provided a part number to fix the issue myself. He went above and beyond and never tried to scam or upsell me anything. Highly recommended. read more

We drove into Hi-Tech Automotive Services and our experience there was night and day different, high quality in every respect. Every person on the staff was super friendly, including taking the extra step of putting some perishable food we had in the car in their refrigerator. It just dawned on me after recommending this place to another Yelp friend that I still haven't written a review for Johnny and his amazing staff at this garage!! My dad has been bringing his cars to Johnny for over 10 years! That's of course how I learned who to go to when it came to car troubles. Johnny and Shana (his wife) will always keep it straight with you about what's going on with your car. The last car I brought here myself was a 2001 VW Passat (no longer have because it didn't fit our family haha). Johnny never made me feel like I absolutely HAD to get whatever work done if he found any problems. When I had a check engine light on, he ran diagnostics and let me watch the little car computer with him to see what popped up. He explained to me what things really needed to be done ASAP in order for it to be safe and what I could hold off on (the car was still safe if I drove off the lot with the problem) and have fixed later on. Johnny has never pressured or bullied me into deciding what to get fixed or when to get it fixed. The most he and Shana would do is just tease tell me that I need to get a better car and what brand I should go with next. :) Now that I have my own family, my husband knows Johnny is the best in Solano and now he recommends Hi-Tech to anyone who asks if he knows a reliable auto shop. I have a 2008 Mazda 6 that always ran very well until the last couple years the battery kept dying for no apparent reason. John was recommended to me by a close friend. I brought it in and explained the situation. John was so kind and helpful. As a woman I am always wary of being taken advantage of at a mechanic but I did not feel that way with John. He ended up keeping my car for 2 weeks to make sure he could do the absolute best job he could. I know it was a lot of work for him plus I also asked him if he could check the transmission fluid and air conditioning. He fixed all these things and kept me updated on the status. I think he could have given it to me sooner but he wanted to be sure I didn't keep having the problem and I told him I wasn't in any rush to get it back. So now my car is running excellent and the a/c works perfect. My advice is ASK FOR JOHN. When I picked up the car, the lady was there and if I ever have to talk to her again, I honestly would not go back. She is just not nice and kinda rude. She said a demeaning line about my husband not paying just because I was the one who handed her the credit card. Little does she know I have been out of work for 2 and a half months so I appreciate my husband paying the credit card bill when it comes in and also appreciate John not over charging me to take care of my vehicle. New to Suisun City and looking for a good mechanic, Johnny and his team were friendly honest and helped me with all questions and offed advice on everything I asked. Went in for oil/filter and rotation. Got extra work done that it needed so I could pass smog and he never tried to get pushy with other work to be done like other mechanics always do. I was told by the last mechanic i saw i need a power steering pump and hose change because of a small leak. Johnny checked it out and said the pump was fine and just needed a small hose change but that the leak wasnt life threatening. Kept me running for a great, affordable, and honest price. Let me start by saying, I did not end up having any work done on my 2009 Mazda; so I can't speak to the quality of work that this shop does... I had taken my car for an oil change at the dealership. They informed me I had ATF fluid leaking from my trans case and that the fluid was discolored. The dealer also told me, just to diagnose the leak would be $150! That's not counting what it would cost to fix the problem. Anyway I decided to hold off on that so I could call around to get some quotes from other shops. I called a hand full of shops; High-Tech being one of them. Johnny's wife answered the phone and upon telling her what happened at the dealer and the year make and model; she immediately looked up my car to see if there were any recalls on it. She found a filed complaint, but it wasn't yet a recall. She than spoke to her husband briefly and told me to bring it in and they would look at it, for free. Next morning I showed up and even though he was very busy he made time to get my car up to look at it and even test drove it for me on an unrelated issue. He then informed me that there was a very slight oil leak; which is normal for a car as old as mine. He advised me to just keep an eye on it.
