I am sad to report that this shop has closed. Jeff was a great mechanic and took wonderful care of my MINI, Acura, and Accord. Please Jeff reply to this review with the location of your new repair shop. read more

After calling a few mechanics in the Fairfield area about having a pre-purchase inspection on a Volvo, I decided to go with Auto Repair Solutions because it had the highest number of Yelp Reviews in the area for European cars. After arranging the inspection on a Friday morning, I waited to hear back from the mechanic after the buyer told me the car had been inspected--NOTHING for hours. I tried calling Jeff (the mechanic) several times, leaving messages each time without so much as a callback. When he finally called me back, he didn't tell me anything about the car except "it looked good". I asked if he had taken any photos of the car or if he had any kind of report he could email or text me and he said "no". I asked if there was anything specifically about the car that I should be aware of for the future--something every mechanic can comment on--to which his reply was, "Not really." As someone who has had several PPIs from different mechanics over the years, I've never been told that there was no inspection report at all--nothing about the tires or the brake pads or the filters or fluid levels or the body of the car or the interior. NOTHING. So, by the time I rescheduled anther PPI with a different mechanic on the following workday in the area, the owner ended up selling the car I planned on buying. read more

I've been looking for a new mechanic. I have a Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG, which is a high performance roadster with over 600 hp. Jeff's shop was recommended to me, Ironically, by a tow company. They said he worked on European exotics, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Took my car in for shock replacement on a Thursday. Got my car back Sunday morning, which included a new shock being overnighted, delivered and installed Saturday. Jeff did a great job. 3 things stood out regarding this shop. 1.his outgoing voicemail message is updated daily with the day, date and next appointment availability. That is huge because you know The approximately lead time you're looking at. 2. he's open on weekends, which is fantastic. Most shops are closed on weekends which is when bad things happen. LOL. 3. Genuinely good customer service. He takes time and explains the issue and the solution. That's invaluable. Great job Jeff, keep up the excellent work. read more

It was nearly impossible to find a shop willing to work on my X5 diesel, Jeff was great and did the work for a fair price I highly recommend them! read more

Not sure if Auto Repair Solutions is still in business. Through 2020, Jeff maintained both of my cars for years with excellence and fair pricing. However, as of May 2022, the business does not appear to be open during posted hours, and the phone number appears to be disconnected. read more

Jeff is an honest and great mechanic who knows his stuff. His prices are fair and he isn't trying to rip people off.

Reasonable prices, Fast reliable service. Small waiting area. Due to Covid-19 times best to drop off vehicle and come back.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Jeff. He was patient with the issue I had with my Audi Q7. He did all kinds of research to find out the real problem and have it fixed. He could have gauged me but didn't- he explained my options thoroughly and I appreciate the great service he provided. Being that I'm new to the area, I will definitely give him a ring next time I am in need of his services. read more

If you have a European car, this is definitely a shop you can trust. Jeff the owner is a really cool guy, and an honest mechanic. From our first conversation over the phone, to meeting him in person, the guy makes you feel welcomed and that he sincerely wants to help you. I called him yesterday to find out the soonest he could check out my car. He got me in today, and my car is all good to go! I have a 2006 bmw 325i, and when I started it a few days ago, it was shaking, and the service engine light came on. Jeff fixed the problem along with a few other maintenance requirements way quicker than I anticipated, and at a reasonable cost. Thank you again Jeff! I also can't leave out Rebecca , his business partner. She too is really cool and very welcoming. read more

Jeff is/was assume to deal with. To my car to him unannounced and he had me on the rack in 10 mins. I feel dumb though, just the air conditioning drip line was leaking. Didn't charge me anything for his time. Thanks for being open on a Sunday Jeff. read more

Just got my car back recently! My car's shifter cable snapped which is unfortunately a common thing for porsche 987/997s. Jeff tried to get the fix covered by my warranty but my third party warranty people would not budge so after a couple weeks of my car being kept at his shop, I just bought aftermarket shifter cables and a short shift kit. Jeff installed it pretty quick and for 2/3rds of what other shops charged for the install. Shift feels great and alot more engaged now! Would never go anywhere else to get my car looked at/fixed. read more

I read the reviews and decided to give them a try with a timing belt and water pump replacement about a year ago. Jeff was fantastic and saved us about $500 on the work and we have had no problems. Jeff was very honest and courteous and more importantly knows what he's doing. I highly recommend him. He is currently working on my restored 67 Camaro and I am very pleased with what he has done so far. From exotic cars to simple old hot rods Jeff is the man to fix your vehicle. read more

Just moved to the East Bay and having lived in SF for some time, I had an abundance picking of where and who to go to take care of our "baby." So, I trolled YELP looking for an auto shop that specializes in European cars to take care of my brakes...called several in the area, got quotes and Auto Repair Solutions came through. Spoke to Jeff (owner/BMW Certified Mechanic) and not only was he SUPER PLEASANT to talk to, he was re-assuring and very accommodating and his price - VERY COMPETITIVE Front and rear brakes done, UNDER $1k (compared to BMW Concord) = HAPPY/SATISFIED! SUPER CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED, KNOWLEAGABLE, SUPER TRANSPARENT about everything he will be doing, has done and will do including advise on how to save money from costly repairs as well as unknown warranties...i.e. SULEV warranty on BMW's. He didn't have to mention that and could've profited from us but his HONESTY is/was GREATLY APPRECIATED. Twice already he saved us from costly repairs. Not only does he specialize in European cars but HE DOES IT ALL! Foreign and Domestic. He's very flexible with scheduling but he's not one to rush though so make sure if you book with him, you're not in a rush - he's not Speedy Oil and Lube and will get done in 20 minutes or less - it's best to have somebody work on your car the right way the first time, don't you think? Hey, YELP, can we add 5 more stars or 10 or 15 "to infinity and beyond?!" to this business? My husband and I are so VERY HAPPY we found him and will now be our permanent mechanic. read more

Great service. Dealership work with affordable pricing. Went to Jeff for my BMW. Tried contacting multiple service centers and Jeff responded first & quickly. Replaced my water pump, before doing anything Jeff let me know what "may" be the problem and then did a proper diagnostic to determine what actually was the problem. Repair was done quickly and done right. Had a friend of mine review the labor cost and cost was in line of service of work done. Appreciate the work and will definitely be using Jeff for all my auto needs. Thanks again! read more

I am driving back to Seattle from the bay area in what is now an old BMW. Somewhere near Vacaville one of the cylinders starts to misfire (I did not recognize this at the time - the entire car shuddered). Jeff was open on Sunday and he did a very thorough job. There was no bullshit. It was direct. His approach was analytical and diagnostic. He knew his stuff, found the ignition coil that was busted, replaced it, gave sound advice on how to handle the problem if it happens again (I had 700 miles to go on I-5 till I reached home). All in all, highly recommend him. If I could find a mechanic like this near my house I would take my car there always. read more

Open on Sunday's and I wouldn't go anywhere else if I still lived in Fairfield. Drove an hour to get it down here and the smog was done in 10 minutes. I feel like I just found a hidden gem. read more

Jeff is a stand up guy. Took an extra day to fix my Scion tC but he got the job done and didnt try to swindle me or tamper with my car unlike some mechanics out there. Jeff isn't just a good mechanic, but just an all out stand up guy. Will be going to him for my car stuff from now on read more

My 2008 BMW 1 Series was rough idling and shaking, showing loss of power. Jeff was able to diagnose the problem right away. He was accommodating, professional, and honest. He fixed issue excellently and I now enjoy driving my car again ;-). Thank you! read more

I went here. No one was in the office or working on cars. I called to see if someone would come out. No one did. The garage was open and all these cars were in there. Legit. Those cars could be stolen. I went here because of good yelp reviews but this was a legit waste of my time read more

Fair, honest, and human. Those are three words you hope for but rarely speak after you need and have car repairs done, especially if your car is European. However, Jeff, the owner/operator/mechanic at Auto Repair Solutions is just that and a whole bunch of other positive adjectives. One of my vehicles, a 2005 (B6) Audi A4 Quattro 3.0 V-6 with very low mileage. This era model of this vehicle needs to have the timing belt changed every 75,000 miles. Most forums suggest getting it changed before then. This is because if it goes bad on you, it could result in a blown engine. Basically the car would be junk because a new engine would cost more than the car is worth (with a good engine). So about 10 months ago the decision was made to get the repair done with the car having about 68,000 miles on it. I did my research on YELP as to area repair shops, after getting quotes from a couple of dealerships (just to gauge the price). Jeff was friendly from the start and I was satisfied that his work would correspond with his great reviews. Jeff has/had a similar vehicle so I was even more ready to put my trust in him. This was a relatively large job as it required a water pump, thermostat, which requires more than 8 hours of labor partly because of parts needed to removed in order to gain access to get the work done. Anyway, to make a long story short, Jeff saved me at least $600 off of the dealer cost for the repair. A couple of weeks ago, the window regulator went on the front passenger window of the Audi. I called Jeff was able to get the part in and repair it within a day, even stayed past business hours to try and get it programmed correctly (not Jeff's fault as the window motor required cooling down for a long period of time, I programmed it myself in the morning). When I brought the car in for the window regulator, I also told him that I heard a unfamiliar noise coming from the front of the vehicle, it sounded like a helicopter somewhere in the distance. He took a look at that also, but called it normal.... until I was pulling out of his back driveway, he then said that he noticed the sound also, and it sounded as though it may be a loose hose or something, and that if it got worse, to bring the vehicle back to check it out. Well, on the way home though that evening, my power steering went out very close to my house in Vacaville. I called him the next morning and he told me to drive it in if I felt safe doing it (this was a Saturday) and he would look at it. It was very hard to steer as it is an all wheel drive vehicle. I decided to drive it to him. About two miles from my house way to his shop, I heard a noise/clank/bang, at the front of the car and it continued to clunk as I pulled the car over. I opened the hood and one of the pulleys fell off. The serpentine belt was slacked. I called my insurance company and used roadside assistance for the first time ever (cell phone & website made it very user friendly and easy to locate me). Within the hour, the vehicle and I were taken to Jeff's shop. He diagnosed it pretty quickly (harmonic balance off) but didn't receive the part that day (although he said it should get there). He said that the part would cost a certain amount and the labor would be a certain amount, expanded by the fact that he had to remove the bumper and such. I spent most of the day there waiting to see if the part would arrive, but I didn't mind as I enjoyed a couple of the awesome businesses literally within steps of Jeff's shop. They are Formaggi Di Ferrante Cheese Shop (awesome pizza and people, see my Yelp review of them, been there several times), and Heretic Brewery. I just had just one beer, it was called "Shallow Grave", and it was great. I previously enjoyed the same beer previously during fellow a couple of military personnel related functions. Since the car was not ready, a friend gave me a ride home. I went to the football game the next day, and he called to give me an update. He told me that he noticed that the water pump had given up also, but this was a good thing for me because he was able to warranty the water pump and labor for that (since it was less than a year ago that he replaced and installed that part), which included the labor necessary to install the harmonic balance also. So he just charged me for the harmonic balancer (part itself only), the labor for everything was swallowed by the water pump warranty replacement and repair. The power steering which was also affected was now working again. The noise I heard from the engine was gone. Jeff, you're the man, I appreciate you. Thanks for the talks too! I told him I had contemplated selling and getting another new vehicle. He said no need, that he'd keep this one going for a long while & it's in great shape. I told Jeff when I left the other day: "I like you a lot, but I don't really want to see you again for a while (because it would mean I need a repair). He said to stop by when I get pizza from across the street. read more

Being new to the area I didn't know where don't I get an oil change from a place I could trust. I don't give my business to places like Jiffy Lube anymore because of a horrible experience I had which pretty much totaled my last car. After lots of researching the Internet and reading reviews I decided to give Auto Repair Solutions a try. My experience was pleasant from the phone call to the end of transaction. Jeff is a very nice, down to earth guy who doesn't rip you off. My oil change was fair priced and I will be giving him my business for anything that my car needs. I will recommend him to anyone who also needs car repairs or oil changes! Thanks Jeff! read more

I found Auto Repair Solutions a few years ago when I owned a BMW. I called to leave a message on Sunday and Jeff answered the phone, I was shocked and almost couldn't tell him what I needed. I was able to have it towed to him that day, he started correcting the long list of things another shop did not fix as they should have. Over these past few years Jeff has become the only one I consider taking my vehicles to. His prices and service are better than what you will find at the dealerships(especially the highland ones). If you need an honest shop that does good work and treats all their customers right then give Jeff a call you won't regret it read more

All I have to say is amazing customer service . Jeff was beyond helpful with getting our car fixed, and I especially respected the fact that when he wasn't sure he was honest and was able to provide the dealership a full write up report of his original findings. In the end he saved us by being honest and saved us additional costs at the dealership. I'm so happy we were able to find a trust worthy mechanic in town. I would recommend this shop to anyone. read more

What a gem Jeff (owner) is and what a find this place was! Our 1955 Ford truck broke down on the freeway and we googled to find the closest mechanic and we lucked out. Even though it was just before closing, Jeff was friendly, patient and sympathetic. He quickly diagnosed our problem (oil leaking from the valve that connects to the oil pressure gauge - not an obvious problem!) went out of his way to have someone drive the part over from an auto parts store and replaced it. He was incredibly reasonable, honest and we were back on the road in no time. We will go out of our way to get his help next time something goes wrong. read more

I called and spoke with Jeff the owner on Thursday morning as we had just purchased a certified used Range Rover Evoque. We wanted to have a diagnostic inspection ran. I advised him that I would call him back to make an appointment as he advised me that he had time this weekend. I spoke with my fiance' and called Jeff back with in the hour and left a voicemail. Here it is now Tuesday, February 16. I was very disappointed, because of all the great reviews and we live within minuets of his business. UPDATE: I really appreciate Jeff contacting me this morning, there was a miscommunication and he was very apologetic. I will be heading over to see him this morning. read more
