    Getting keys!

Walked in with no appointment as my son was buying his first car. We even left snd came back and they remembered us! Everyone (and I truly mean everyone) we came across today were so nice! Robert was our sales associate and he was so patient with us as its was already getting pretty late. My son was happy with his purchase and said it was a great experience.

I came into CarMax today to assist my parents in selling their car to CarMax. For the most part, CarMax is one of the places to sell you car if you do not want to go through the private seller process. If you do a trade-in at the dealer, you will not get much, but CarMax will generally give you a much higher and reasonable price on your car. As for buying a car, the prices are generally a little higher than if you shop around and haggle with a used car dealer. The price for buying a car is firm. The nice thing about buying at CarMax is that they do fully detail their cars and do full inspections/servicing of their cars prior to putting on the lot to sell. Today, we had a good experience. My sister had scheduled the appointment on the wrong day, but fortunately they weren't busy yet and there was only 1 person ahead of us. Everyone we dealt with in this process were very nice. I did take 1 star off due to the selling process took a little longer at this location. I have sold 2 other cars personally at 2 different locations and the selling process took less steps and was a little faster. From the time they started the appraisal process to the time we got the check took about 45 minutes.

In the bay area there are too many douchey hipsters that pick and pull all the classic mercedes diesels apart. Fairfield is just far enough away from Berkeley to keep these kinds of people away. Car selection was great. Even the vehicles for sale were of a beautiful variety. A perfectly curated collection of the most popular cars. A classic body on frame rear wheel drive ford, a newer fuel miser Camry, a couple trucks and then a few bargain basement priced cars for those who are the most price sensitive. Really, something for everybody. On the yard there were finds too. Somebody was cleaning out the entire interior of a first gen Lexus IS. Like new seats and dash and door panels. Even the heat wasn't going to stop these guys from refreshing their interior and getting rid of that dreaded sticky dash those cars are known for. Office here was air conditioned - that whole area where you pay. The helpers here were great and check out was fast and friendly. Overall, this is a great place to learn about cars - you can buy on ebay or aftermarket but you don't learn how things are put together.

Already when I first walked in the young supervisor and other young coworkers were bossing around customers telling them to hurry up right after signing their waivers and that they have others waiting while they were trying to pay to get in. I ignored it logged in, paid for entry, after looking around the yard for a while I came back in while my friends were in the yard waiting. I waited in the exiting line asked if they could pull me up 2 cars for me once it was my turn in line. They proceeded to say "2 cars what?" I asked if they could get the locations for 2 cars, they then stated "I'm busy with leaving customers. I said okay I'll wait. He then told me I need to move back. I moved back waited about 5 minutes. I hear him proceed to sigh and say "Ahhhhh I need to find a new job." Finally it gets to my turn in line and there's nobody else he can turn to help instead of me. He asked me what cars I ask for every 92-00 Honda civic which I had already seen a couple of 98-00 Honda civic Lx's and other newer gen's just wanted to know the spots, and 2004-2008 Acura TSXs just to see if there is a K24a2 in some stroke of luck. He proceeds to spend 15 seconds getting me a recient of 3 rows of 92-95 civics, and 2004-2005 Acura TSXs. I look and I know I've seen way more than 3 Honda civics in the yard from the generations that even they stated, and I know as well because I had seen it on the website before I came in earlier that day. I walked out then realized they input the wrong years and their receipt was nowhere close to their actual log. I wait in line for about another 10 minutes. I tell them their years were wrong and I need 92-00 and 2004-2008. The worker who previously stated he needed to find a new job starts getting mad at me and saying that I'm assuming of him of being wrong. I tell him the logs say 92-95 and that's a gen of Honda civics but 96-00 is as well and I know they have them. He states they don't have them, I tell them I've seen many of the 96-00 LX's in the yard alone and if he can just pull them up, he says if I think I've seen them to go there and find them. I tell him I know 100% they have those years and ask why can't they just pull up the spots and give me the correct spots. He confirms to me on accident that he gets the same information as their website, I tell him I know it's on your website too because I saw it earlier so he starts telling me to use the website if I believe that, and I start saying why can't you just provide me with the rows? His young supervisor chimes in and says that it's saying he seen him put it in. They're now actively telling me I have 2 choices. Leave out the front exit or leave into the yard and find them and I say 2 choices?? I want to speak to a regional manager or something because this wild I'm asking for a simple request and you're just starting shit. His younger employee starts saying I'm ragebaiting and that if I believe it to find them myself, and they don't need to do anything. Then the supervisor kinda shuts him down a little bit since his employee starts trying to put his hands up and taunt me but he proceeds to be an asshole. Later they say it's 2 separate systems between computer and their website which is completely opposite of what they had said before, but at this point they're just trying to get me to go away. I tell him if that's the case instead of starting shit or being rude just say "Sorry we have 2 separate systems and we don't have the rows listed because that's how customer service is." And unfortunately their job whether they want to leave it or not is a customer service job. Pretty sure later I also got up charged on a hose, and a small bracket but honestly $100 is nothing for the stuff I got even if I got up charged so I called it a day and left in silent but I'm still actively going to look into how I can speak to an actual higher up since they didn't want to give me any numbers. Provided below is a couple photos of 96-00 civics they had in the very front of their yard right in view from their door.

Big shoutout to Mark at Hopkins Acura of Fairfield…read more Thank you for all your help and guidance in choosing the best car for my son. I was initially leaning toward the Acura Integra because of its features, reliability, and overall value. However, you helped us look beyond the specifications and focus on what truly mattered to him. You saw firsthand the huge smile on his face when he got behind the wheel of the Subaru WRX. The excitement, confidence, and pure joy he felt during the test drive made it clear that the WRX was the car he genuinely connected with. As a parent, seeing that kind of happiness is priceless. This model explorer alone had 33 safety recalls. Each time we took our car to the shop, it took 1-2 weeks for repairs. Completely inconvenient! 2. The crack in the windshield that was EXISTING when we bought the car never got repaired in the 5 years we had the vehicle. Don't bother purchasing warranties because this dealership doesn't honor them and the 3rd party warranty company gives you the run around. Ford was supposed to complete the repair themselves but kept pushing it onto the warranty company! 3. No cars transmission should go out at 36,000 miles and some change! NEVER!!! 4. As the dealership that sold the warranty and extended warranty there is no excuse as to why you can't locate a customers information to verify they have coverage for power train issues, but of course it's easier to try and convince a customer that they don't have coverage, I guess! 5. Replacing the transmission took just shy of a month and no loaner car was offered. Literally had to pay for a rental at about $600 a week, plus pay a car note for a car we didn't have in our possession just to be able to get to and from work! All because Ford only offers loaners for "Ford" warranty vehicles. How that even makes sense is beyond me! In this economy, an extra $600 is tough! 6. After repairs were made, we were told we could not pick up OUR vehicle until the warranty department made payment. So even after the warranty department approved the repairs and approved to cover almost 100% (we had to pay $200 for screws, yeah, I know, crazy), we were told we would have to wait until they paid because it was a large bill. I guess the peace of mind was being told that warranty "usually" pays quickly. We had to get the manager involved after numerous calls and he only agreed to release our vehicle because I'm sure he realized illegal business practices aren't the best route. I won't go into detail on the legal perimeters or lack there of to withhold someone's car without legitimate merit! Obviously I understand that no business is perfect and sometimes issues are bound to happen, but this experience alone showed us that Ford Fairfield does not care about its customers and will do anything they can do be shady, with a lack of professional business practices. Do yourself a favor and buy your car anywhere else but here! If I could give zero stars that would still be too many for Ford Fairfield...
