Bottom line up front: this 2 brother sales team is totally transparent, not pushy, easy to deal…read morewith, and conduct themselves with integrity. So, what's the rest of the story? I guess setting the scene is important. I live in Ohio. My daughter goes to college in northern California. Recently during one of the violent wind/rain storms which rolled through Norcal, a huge oak tree fell on the car we loaned her for college. The car was totaled. My daughter is not the person to look for a car and negotiate a purchase, and I needed to be sure that whatever she drives is reliable, but how do I do that from 2,500 miles away on a tight budget and on an extremely tight timeline? She has to have a car for school, no public transit between school and where she lives, and she just started there this semester, so she has no local support network. I started online in Santa Rosa where she lives, and all the dealers fell into one of two categories: 1) dealers with solid reviews, good BBB reputation, but no cars in our budget range; or 2) sketchy online reviews, BBB complaints, and listing VINs associated with salvage titles (but not disclosing that), etc. I kept expanding my search from Santa Rosa, and after about 4 hours of internet sleuthing, 707 Motors in Vacaville (about 90 minutes away) was the first dealer which checked out online and had what appeared to be decent cars in our price range. Carfax reports were posted for all cars, and the VIN for the vehicle in which I was most interested came up clean. I called and spoke with Jay. I know this isn't orthodox, but I told Jay the situation and that I couldn't pay more than X "out the door". Jay was not in the office, but said he would go into the office and pull the paperwork, and crunch the numbers and get back to me. Which he did quite quickly. He said he could go any lower than Y, but X and Y weren't so far apart so I told my daughter to get to Vacaville and check the car out. She was comfortable with everything, so Jay and I settled on a price, we paid with a bank debit card, and my daughter said filling out the paperwork was super smooth, and she was thrilled that 707 Motors was going to take care of everything at the DMV with tags and title and have everything mailed to her. She's gaga over her "like new" car, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the whole experience. I pray to God I don't have to buy another car in California, but if I need to, I know where I am starting to look!!! Thanks, 707 Motors for your help in getting us out of a tight spot.

AVOID THIS PLACE ~ They aren't honest with customers, they'll say anything just to get you there --…read moreand they're selling cars with MAJOR issues that you'll need to fix. I spoke to them multiple times over phone and text. Asked multiple times why the car I was interested in was a couple thousand below market. Their website intentionally had photos of the car that suggested it was clean. Were huge rips in the front seat, and the windshield had multiple issues, wasn't even drivable (neither was mentioned, or in the photos -- even though they knew i was coming from an hour away, and renting a car). They instantly said they'd drop $200 more for the seat & the windshield each, they just lied to me to get me there (on my time and money). Was still cheap enough i had it pre purchase to look at it, mechanic said there was over $3,000 in just labor that this car needed (for a car under 8,000..) They are misleading people on purpose, not telling the truth -- and selling cars with thousands of dollars of fixes needed. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing a car from this dealership. I bought my…read morevehicle here and in less than 5 months it already needed a complete transmission replacement and it had a pretty big oil leak so I had to replace also the oil valve. When I contacted the dealership, Sajjaad told me that "with used cars, these things can happen" and claimed he had no idea the car was in poor condition. This was especially upsetting because I made it clear that I was buying this car to safely commute with my baby -- this wasn't a luxury; it was a necessity. When I brought the car back to him, he personally drove it and quickly called me to say "there are no issues." I insisted he drive it longer, and only then did he finally admit that the transmission was failing. He also told me, "you never know how long a used car will last." If someone selling you a car said that to you on the day of the sale, would you feel confident buying it? No one would -- and no buyer should accept that excuse after the fact. I want to be fair and say that Sajjaad appeared to be a nice man at first, but after my experience and after seeing multiple other reviews reporting the same issue -- needing new transmissions right after purchase -- it is impossible for me to believe he isn't aware of what he's selling. The pattern speaks for itself. It feels clear that he is knowingly selling vehicles that are at the end of their life. He offered to "help" by sending me to the autobody shop next door, where they replaced the transmission and "reduced" the labor cost. Not only was the job done poorly, but they failed to code the new transmission, which is an essential part of the repair. I then had to take the car to a specialized shop in San Francisco and pay even more money to finish the job correctly. The specialized shop provided diagnostic proof that the transmission was never coded -- meaning the work I paid for was incomplete and unsafe. This was not just a car for me. It was the only way I could commute to daycare with my infant. To take advantage of people in situations like mine is not only unacceptable -- it feels deeply inhumane. I trusted this business with my savings and my child's safety, and they completely failed me. I strongly advise others to STAY FAR AWAY from this dealership. The part I purchased on my own--due to understandable mistrust at this point--is not the issue. It's also important to note that They were the ones who y directed me to the store where I bought the part, as it's the same place they normally use. Below, I've attached the photos showing the faulty codes that confirm the necessary programming/coding was not done correctly.

The dealership not only seemed very honest, he also educated me on some rights that I have as a…read moreused car buyer from a dealership that I wasn't aware. He also let me know where a different dealership from a previous used car purchase failed to follow law so I am informed in the future. It's only been a few days but my wife and I enjoyed the buying experience and have enjoyed the car thus far. I would buy for Cherry Downtown Motor in the future.
