Went to Ryan's today for an AC service on an older Nissan Altima with over 200,000 miles on it. After trying to do it myself last year, I needed a little bit more professional help. I have an appointment at 3 o'clock and they were very timely and started the appointment immediately. So immediate that I felt comfortable on waiting for the service to take place. They were very honest and explained what they could do and what they couldn't do, but increased my AC performance and lower the temperature quite a bit. Very satisfied with their service today and their professionalism. If and when I need future service, I will not hesitate to come to them. read more

I visited Ryan's Mechanics in Fairfield, CA, for a multi-point inspection. They recommended nearly $4,000 in repairs, including rear and front bushings and a cracked marker light. However, a second mechanic found that the bushings were fine and that the marker light lens only had a small chip on the corner before the glue seal -- not an actual crack or structural damage. The second shop completed all necessary repairs for about $700. When I brought this up to Ryan's, they insisted their assessment was correct and dismissed the other shop's findings. On a positive note, the front desk staff was pleasant, which is why I'm giving them two stars. Overall, it felt like a money grab, so I'd recommend getting a second opinion. read more

Came here for a Pre-Purchase Inspection. I was looking at a used car close by, and not only did they do a very thorough examination at a great price. The mechanic found several issues I never would've known about, which would've cost thousands of dollars if i'd bought the car. Was grateful to reject that car and that dealer. I brought my 2002 Rav 4 to Ryan's 1/20/25. It had failed the smog test twice at another shop. My experience at Ryan's was excellent from beginning to end. First of all I was greeted by Rachel, in the office. She is awesome; upbeat, positive, knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. Because of their experienced mechanics, my car was brought up to smog test standards and it passed inspection. All this in one day! I was relieved and beyond satisfied with their work. I brought my car here for suspected vandalism, and an insurance claim. They did work on my car that I did not approve of, claiming that my insurance told them to do so. When I told them I didn't want it I was told it was too late and I had to pay my deductible still. My car was never properly fixed and because of their lack of communication I am stuck in a bad situation with my car and insurance. read more

I needed a certified vehicle inspection to register my salvaged vehicle. Ryan's is the only Service center at this time who performs this test. I called and the inspection specs and cost were explained to me. I was also directed to the California handbook online to read all of the inspection points, so I could properly prepare. I scheduled my appointment, was notified by text message of whether I passed or failed, exactly what I needed to correct, and Ryan's estimate for the repair (s) in order to pass and receive my certificate. I also was informed of the option to take my car elsewhere to have the repairs, and what the costs would be to bring it back for a re-test. Fortunately for me, my repair was minimal, so I had Ryan's do the work and I received my passing certificate that afternoon. A happy customer. read more

This shop is awesome. From the first phone call to the end of service, I had no issues at all. The staff are super friendly, they went above and beyond, the communication is very thorough, and the service was done quickly. I had a known axle seal leak and called to get a quote. I was able to have my car brought in the next day. They found some other issues and documented in with photos, which I could access via an online portal. I got to choose what to approve and what not to approve and be able to see the total estimate of each item and all together. I would 100% recommend this shop to friends and family members. I know it's hard to find a decent and honest shop these days. And I'll definitely come back if I have other issues I don't feel confident in fixing myself. I was driving home from work right after the new year and my transmission went out. I had my car towed to Ryan's Automotive to see if it was salvageable.... Well, it was deemed to need a new one (stupid Fords). The owner Brian was able to get me one ordered immediately and I was in a rental car for a week while we waited for the transmission to arrive from the Midwest. Once it arrived (2 days late) Brian had it installed, programmed and tested in 24 hours from the time he received it. He stayed late to ensure I had my car back the next day! The customer service I received from Brian was unmatched!!!! I'm so thankful!!! Worth every penny! I took my 07 Acura TL here a few months ago for a smog, they're fast and always have an open availability. They're now working on my 19 Acura TLX. While doing an oil change, they inspect your vehicle, they're honest, even showed me my spark plug and weren't just trying to make a sale. They work with shops around them such as Big Discount Tires for vehicle alignments. They give you updates during your service. Their front desk lady, Rachelle is amazing and hilarious, Bryan does amazing work. Both are very awesome and friendly. They have amazing plans for the future of the shop. I had some work done to my truck awhile back and it included a new battery with a 30 month warranty. Well what do you know.....the battery went bad. No problem right, just take it back and get it replace.....wrong!! Ryan wanted me to bring the truck to him so he could test it and then determine if he would replace it. So this would mean getting it towed to him. Stay with me.....he said I would be charged shop labor for him to test it. Remember I have a warranty on the battery. All I asked was for a replacement on a product he sold me and he was going to charge me again? I ended up taking the battery and my work order which showed the warranty information directly to Interstate for a replacement no questions asked. Customer service is HUGE to me and this shop failed!! A good shop stands behind the product it sells. He just lost a customer. read more

I only have great things to say about Ryans automotive. I was told by another auto shop (close to Travis Air Force base) that my car (Mitsubishi lancer) had to be reprogrammed through the dealer and that it was going to be expensive. I then took it to Ryans and they listened to me and my car did not have to be reprogrammed they were able to resolve my issue for under 100 dollars. My boyfriend took his VW golf car to this place to have his car checked. It wouldn't start. So...a staff told my boyfriend that it cost about $400. It had something to do with the Mass Air Flow sensor. When he got the bill, it was $600. It doesn't feel right -- $600? And the worker did not give us the receipt. So something is off. Took my car here for a brake and light inspection, they keep lying and saying that the light wasn't positioned correctly two times, in order to get it correctly positioned they wanted to charge a lot of money for no reason, the way I knew they were lying was cause I took it somewhere else and that place said it was all good. I had a great experience at Ryan's Automotive..... My 99 Durango would not pass smog. I had taken it to a few mechanics, they changed parts but none were able to pin point the source of the problem. I had remembered seeing a commercial on Ryan's Automotive, dropped my Durango off in the morning and before noon received a call that the problem was in the computer. Beware of this shop. As i read all the countless negative reviews of this shop. I see the that they pulled the same ripoff on mutitiple customers. Ryan gives you mutiple papers to sign then gives you only the top copy of the signed invoice. You walk away thinking you paid what the job should cost. However Ryan and his trained staff of crooks have you sign muliple invoices give you only the top invoice and they PURPOSELY not give you the other invoices. you walk away thinking you paid $300 dollars for the job but in realty you pay 6 or 7 hundred dollars for the job because Ryan and and his staff dont give you the whole bill. Its not until later that you realize you paid much more then what the invoice they give you back says. Read the reviews its a common practice this crook does repeatedly. read more
