But, we needed to get our car fixed so we put up with her attitude. Normally I trust only Porsche specialists to work on my 2015 911 GTS. However, I know Antonio, the owner, is a car enthusiast(Lotus owner) and his shop works on specialty cars, so I entrusted the 8 years major maintenance service to his shop. I liked that Antonio provided detailed estimates so I can agreed to the work to be done and be comfortable with the approximate cost. For this service my car was in the shop for 3 days, during which engine oil and filter were replaced, as were spark plugs, the drive belt, engine air filters (requiring removal of back bumper), and brake fluids. All work were completed professionally. I had authorized new brake pads and rotors for the rear, but the shop was honest in letting me know that the pads still had 6mm and the rotors were OK, so we deferred the work to save on unnecessary cost. The shop also provided extra service at no additional labor charge, such as testing the 12V battery, and repairing a broken windshield washer hose. My car has center lock wheels and to repack the center lock nut required a special paste which was very difficult to source. Antonio found a supply at a local Honda motorcycle shop and picked it up himself. My car had trouble passing smog as it is a weekend car and not driven enough for some of the engine monitors to register. Fortunately for me, the shop's computer has some Porsche functionalities and the shop was able to complete a drive cycle successfully allowing me to smog the car. Best of all, the service costs were reasonable and saved me thousands compared to service at a Porsche dealership. read more

We had a great experience here! The outside of the building and the signs may look like this place is run down, but the inside was fairly well maintained. We had an appt for them to inspect our AC. Turns out there's no issues so they didn't charge us much just the hourly service for the check. Since we were their last scheduled appt they were also able to squeeze in an oil change too. Price was fairly decent. Thanks Tre for doing our auto inspection. BONUS: There were snacks and drinks for guests. We haven't used Cecil's for many things over the years other than oil changes for all of our vehicles. They are one of the few businesses that will allow us to bring our own oil and filter. Their service has always top notch and they have always treated us fairly and honestly. The only problem that you will have to deal with is getting in/out and limited parking. This is not their fault. A few years ago "progress" got the 'best of them' as a corner business, with changes to Davis Street and Hume Way. Don't let that discourage you from using them. Horrible experience will not go back.. Customer service unacceptable.. They want your money and don't care if you return. Took my car in for overall inspection in hopes of finding a fluid leak... the findings were leaking valve cover gaskets.. Remove and replace $570.. I agreed and took my car in for service.. 2hours later I received a 2nd text explaining additional parts: emission hoses and tubes plus labor. Would be additional $247.. I Did not understand the additional labor if it's remove and replace? the emissions hose and tubing are a step in the removal process. I want to add that the extra parts are items in the valve cover kit.. they ordered the wrong kit! (did not come with additional parts). Not my fault but they wanted to pass on the expense to me.. The mechanic cut my old hoses and tubes to facilitate the removal and was forced to install old hoses with electrical tape when I refused to pay the extra $247.. The elderly lady up front is not friendly and does not care about customers.. all about the $$ read more

Took my van into have brakes done and they found it also needed the cabin filter changed. I declined because I could buy the cabin filter and have my hubbs change it and save the $40 for a super cheap part. As soon as I left the air conditioner fan sounded like an airplane taking off. Called next day because it wasn't done until few before 5pm. They said bring it back in. Told them my son would do it as I was leaving the country on vacation. We had purchased the cabin filter and it was on my van seat. They sent the invoice to my son who forwarded to me. There is an 11 hour time difference from where I was vacationing. They were charging me for the repairs and the cabin filter because a rodent had made a nest and destroyed the cabin filter. It wasn't making that noise when I dropped it off as I leave air on all the time because it's been freakin hot. So I called and asked if they used MY filter and why I would be charged for the work when i guess the rodent built a nest while it was there all day?! Service writer was not happy and said she didn't know I had a filter in my car so they were going to charge my son for their "rodent" issue AND for putting in my own filter! Very disappointed because I researched the reviews and it seemed well respected. So much for trying to support a small business rather than take to Toyota and be grossly overcharged. Went in for an oil change. Not the cheapest but Cecil's has a good rep. Disappointed though when they tried to talk me into cabin and engine air filters change. I had just recently changed the filters my self so I knew they did not need changed. I saw them pull in and know they never really checked the filters before making the recommendation. Easy $80+ for the business as you pay for over priced parts and labor for something you can do yourself in less than 5 Min. Seems like this is a standard as numerous calls were made to customers while I was waiting stating the all need new filters. Maybe they did..but I certainly did not. Let's start with Gina, my husband took our middle boy to this shop due to his car making some awful noises and told me all about their wonderful experience with this company and how Gina was not only kind but knew this business very well. Took the car in Friday and they worked their magic to get it back to our son by noon Monday! Which is amazing! They are very busy but they some how made things work out, and that means a lot to a hard working young man! Cecil's is my trusted Auto Care Specialist. Gina is so knowledgeable and always gets you in asap. My tire light was on and they fit me in that afternoon, checked and filled tires with proper air level and did not charge me. They explained that I would need to drive the car and it would reset the tire signal light. If the light remained on, I would need to come back and have the tire sensor's checked. They have always been helpful with my immediate issues, and have given me estimates on future needed maintenance calls. My Mini Cooper had a dent and some red markings on the front driver side of the hood under the headlight and the red markings on the bumper, after the car was there for 3 days. Took the car in on a Monday and we get a call back that one of their lifts was broken and would take an extra day to do the job. (Should have pick the up then), we finally get the car back on a Thursday and realized damage to the front end of the hood, when I get home, something or someone backed into the car and also bent the hood. We called the shop back and of course their response "it didn't happened here!" 1400dls later come home with body damage, their parking lot is small. My wife called backed and asked for any camera footage and they said they have no cameras. Also mentioned that, they thought something splashed the car. Cmon if u are a car mechanic u would have seen the damage right away and should have at least called to let us know about it, at the very least. If u do decide to take your precious vehicle here, I suggest to take make someone from the shop with you and walk around the car with u before they work on it. I called and scheduled an appointment to have the A/C In my 2015 Honda Civic fixed. Originally I scheduled it for 6/30 but it was a super hot week and took a chance and called two weeks earlier. They took me in that afternoon. To make a long story shorter , the repair was done just a few days later and now it blows cold air again just like when I bought it new in August of 2015. I even tested to see if the air was as cold as my friend's 2019 CRV she bought new and it is. I'm very happy with the job they did and now considering having them do my regular oil changes too. I started using Cecil's in the summer of 2016 and have only had good experiences with them. From basic oil changes to fixing A/C they do a good job at a fair price. What prompted me to write this though was during my service this morning, they took the initiative and fixed a piece of undercarriage (if that's even what's it called) that was flapping around by the front bumper/quarter panel. I think a car got me while grocery shopping and did a parking lot hit and run on me...
