Found a large screw in my tire. Stopped by and they got me in right away. The other nearby shops stated 2-3 hours for the repair.

I was looking to buy a newer used car and wanted to get it checked out before I made the purchase…read more I called Nestor and he said they could check it out to make sure it was a good buy. After they looked over it, they gave me the green light and I bought a used reliable car but I definitely felt peace of mind having Vaca Valley Auto Care look at it in depth. I have been driving this car for a year now and it's still running great! Recently, this car's dashboard lights were on so I brought it in to be serviced for an oil change, new spark plugs and a tire rotation. I had a couple hours before I needed to be at work and when I told them my time frame, they had it done early! I was impressed and they had my car running great again! I sat in the waiting room and watched customers come in that new the shop employees by name and they held conversations like they were old friends catching up. I watched a guy bring in his car because he was going on a road trip and they made sure his car was running good before he took it across the states. Vaca valley auto care will point out services that are needed if they find them but they always give their customers an option to do the service or not and they will tell you how long you can go if you are not ready to fix the problem yet. I have always found them to be honest, hard working men that live up to their name of caring for their customers. This is the kind of place you want your money to go to! A local shop and a local family!

I had been taking my vehicles here for over 6 years. I am so confused by a recent poor experience,…read morewhich has left me feeling like I shouldn't trust this business anymore. - called on 10/28 stating I needed a quote for a smoke test. I let the front desk know that I had ran for codes and keep getting evap issues. He told me no problem, they could accommodate and to bring my vehicle in the next morning for the smoke test. - brought my vehicle in 10/29 and again let the front desk know I just wanted to do the smoke test. I let him know I had just replaced the filler neck and I think It may have been a defective part, but I was not positive and just needed the smoke test to see if anything was still leaking from there. I made sure I was clear about only wanting a smoke test. - two hours later, front desk calls me to let me know they used a code reader and got codes for the catalytic converters, I told him I was already aware of the codes, and I just wanted the smoke test and asked what they found on the test. He told me that they hadn't done the smoke test because 99 percent of the time when those codes (they were p0420 and p0430, which they didnt even tell me what codes they were, I just already know) show that the catalyst converters need replacing. I kept trying to interject to say I just needed the smoke test, again im already aware of the codes, but he kept cutting me off to repeat that 99 percent of the time the catalytic converters need to be replaced and its going to be over 2k. I told him to stop and that I again was already aware of the codes. I asked: were the 02 sensors checked, and were any other components, that could lead to those codes, checked to see if they were dirty or corroded. He said they didnt check anything BEcaUsE OF tHe CODeS and that BEcaUsE OF tHe CODeS its NINETY NINE PERCENT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS . I let him know that I again. Just. Wanted. To. Have. The. Smoke. Test. Done. He said he'd let them know and call me back. - two hours later the front desk associate calls me back and let me know they started the test but that there was a massive leak from the filler neck (which I had already asked them to keep in mind that it was sitting funking and I thought it wasnt correctly fitted). I asked if there were any other leaks and he said they couldnt check because the major leak from the filler neck when they started it was to great to be able to check anything else. I said okay and paid over the phone letting them know I would get my vehicle that afternoon. - were the o2 sensors ever checked as requested... no - were any of the other components down the exhaust system checked for dirt or debris... no - is it common for both cats to go out at the same time... no - did they try and immediately get me to spend over 2k to replace the cats, before they even thought to check and see if any other source could have caused the codes... yes - did they do the smoke test, which couldn't even be completed because it smoked out the filler neck almost immediately... yes - So in the end I did eventually get the service I was requesting, but it left me with a really bad feeling. Im not sure if I can fully trust this shop to be honest and direct with my vehicle(s) moving forward.

Normally I trust only Porsche specialists to work on my 2015 911 GTS. However, I know Antonio, the…read moreowner, is a car enthusiast(Lotus owner) and his shop works on specialty cars, so I entrusted the 8 years major maintenance service to his shop. I liked that Antonio provided detailed estimates so I can agreed to the work to be done and be comfortable with the approximate cost. For this service my car was in the shop for 3 days, during which engine oil and filter were replaced, as were spark plugs, the drive belt, engine air filters (requiring removal of back bumper), and brake fluids. All work were completed professionally. I had authorized new brake pads and rotors for the rear, but the shop was honest in letting me know that the pads still had 6mm and the rotors were OK, so we deferred the work to save on unnecessary cost. The shop also provided extra service at no additional labor charge, such as testing the 12V battery, and repairing a broken windshield washer hose. My car has center lock wheels and to repack the center lock nut required a special paste which was very difficult to source. Antonio found a supply at a local Honda motorcycle shop and picked it up himself. My car had trouble passing smog as it is a weekend car and not driven enough for some of the engine monitors to register. Fortunately for me, the shop's computer has some Porsche functionalities and the shop was able to complete a drive cycle successfully allowing me to smog the car. Best of all, the service costs were reasonable and saved me thousands compared to service at a Porsche dealership.

We needed service on our vehicles air conditioning. It was an issue the dealership wanted to charge…read moreus way more than the problem was worth. So the customer service could definitely been better. The woman we both spoke to on the phone was not professional and had a know-it-all attitude. I get being slightly arrogant as a personality trait but WOW. That's something I cannot stand. But, we needed to get our car fixed so we put up with her attitude. Luckily the owner made sure to make sure we got optimal service and despite her actions, he took responsibility and didn't make a bad situation worse.
