My husband and I have been taking both of our cars here for regular service for many years. Today I was incredibly impressed with their customer service. I went in to drop my car off for an oil change, and was promptly driven back to my house since there were no loaner cars available, which is completely fine. About an hour later, Larry gives me a call telling me that they had made a mistake of not changing the service date sticker on my dash, of which I tend to rely on as my reminder, hence the scheduled appointment today. I couldn't recall when my last service was but I had figured it wasn't too long ago. Looking back at my calendar I realized I had seen them in may and their honesty will not go unnoticed. They washed and vacuumed my car, AND then delivered my car back to my house as an apology on their behalf which to me was just a minor mistake, but they still went above and beyond! Took my wife's 2018 330i BMW for an oil service. When I made the appointment it was my understanding their cost will be less than the BMW dealership. BMW dealership quoted price for Oil Service $176 plus tax, their charge was $269. They did rotate tires, run diagnostics, and wash car. While the car was being serviced they contacted me to add two more items to the bill, cabin filter, and Brake Fluid Exchange. Their quote for the additional work was $397 dollars. I declined after fact checking with other servicers. Their quote was at least $200 higher then other quotes. They do good work, no issue with that. However, their pricing is super premium and they somewhat "bait and switch you". Anything even close to reasonable pricing for the follow up work, I would have them do the work. Be careful and check other services and pricing before signing up for their services. My review is good work, but super high pricing. read more

My check engine light came on in my 2011 VW TDI. The dealership couldn't get me in until several weeks out. Motoring Specialists got my car in within a week, for that I'm giving them 1 star. They charged me $195 to run diagnostics, wiggle a few wires, and switch around two glow plugs. They said the check engine could come on again, in which case they'd replace all 4 glow plugs for $1600! After 3 years of taking my truck to its manufacturer's service center, I gave Motoring Specialists in Vacaville, CA a try because of all the great reviews from their loyal customers. And I must say, I should have made this switch a long time ago. Kallie at the front desk is super courteous and helpful over the phone and in person. She kept our interaction worry free and straight forward. When it came down to the repair cost, it was nice to know all the options they can offer. D.S. took care of my truck and the health inspection plus photos he took were very helpful and beyond my expectations. The other service center I've been going to before did not have anything close to the website/app that Motoring Specialists use. I deal with people every single day and I felt very confident with D.S. because of his outstanding work and honest assessment. Their entire operation has a close family feel to it and their repair cost in my opinion is fair and reasonable. The shop itself is by far the cleanest I've seen in this area and you can tell they take great pride in their work place. Paying for parts and labor is what we'll always expect. Its always a nightmare when you finally buy yourself a used car and a week later youve got spots on your driveway because Something is leaking. I brought it straight to the team at Motoring Specialists and they went above and beyond my expectations! They conducted a full inspection including PICTURES of everything they looked at which they sent me in a digital email report (screenshots of report attached) and found i had a leaking wiper fluid pump. With my approval they replaced it with the right part which they already had on hand and i was back on the road by the afternoon. They even washed my car! This is a follow up on the review of Cordelia C. dated 6/24/18. Motoring Specialists responded to my husbands post by throwing Mercedes Benz Fairfield under the bus by blaming Mercedes for their "mistake". They then go on to trashing my husband. He was upset. He gets that way when people try to steal from him. Motoring Specialists defense for attempting to over charge by $3000.00 is that they are incompetent, not malicious. That doesn't explain the failure to take a picture of the broken piece, as they took pictures of everything else. Motoring Specialists then state the part only "recently" became available. The part has ALWAYS been available. Motoring Specialists try to clean up their lies with more lies. Here is a link to a post on MBWORLD from October 2009 with excerpts pasted in below the link. The excerpt contains the part number. When putting it back in, have the spindle as far back as possible towards the back of the door and the handle closed for alignment. They will not do additional work without a verbal confirmation from you and only after giving you plenty of detail about what it is they're doing, how much it will cost, and how long it will take. They offer shuttle service for the Vacaville area. They have a punch card program for oil changes. They also have a referral reward program. I recommend them and I will be a returning customer. I knocked them for the cost to run my check engine code ($129). I personally thought that was a bit high. read more
