My father, brother and myself have gone to Ace for years now. Never once have we felt ripped off or lied to. They are friendly and informative when asking questions. They do not pressure you into fixing anything you don't want to. They have squeezed me in several times when I really needed something done in a hurry. They have even stayed open late, after closing so we can pick the car up after work. read more

What can I say about Ace AUTOMOTIVE on Western in Fairfield Ca. Other than I being an older retired mechanic myself. Ace was recommended to me by Robert at Extreme Muffler. Ed and Donna are great Car People. We hit it off day one when I took my wife's car there for AC work. So I took my car for check engine light problems witch I hate. After answering a few questions and letting them know what I tried Mike knew where to look. And yes they found the problem ordered my parts and put that nasty check engine light to sleep. Car running great. I Found My Go To Automotive Shop. No need to go anywhere where ELSE. GREAT JOB ACE AUTOMOTIVE. read more

Ed and Donna are the best and always do the best work . They have helped keep my cars safe while going thru medical issues.

Hoped to be able to get my classic Pontiac worked on here. First went to there old location but they had moved a ways from me so I called. Got their VM and a nice lady called me back. She said a mechanic would have to call me back when they get in. No call ever came. So I called back the next day and again got their VM. This time nobody even bothered to get back to me. Last VM was left on 10/11/2024. I guess they don't want new customers. read more

Incredibly kind and helpful people here!! Searched for the closest auto repair shop after having an emergency on the freeway. Lester took the car back within minutes and was super quick and friendly. Would highly recommend for any car needs! Thank you Ace Auto!! read more

Was referred to this shop by an auto-body shop and reviewed them on Yelp and seen they had great reviews. I don't always go off reviews because hey-some pay for reviews. I called as I had a 1988 mustang that had been sitting for 20+ years. I spoke with Donna and from the first day she provided excellent customer service! My goal was to get the car running-it started but I wanted to have an overall thorough check. I was provided clear and concise reports on what was needed, what were "must fixes" and which ones were not "mandatory but recommended". Again, the communication was outstanding from start to finish and the vehicle is running great. And how happy was I to hear a female worked on my vehicle "girls rock! Lol thanks again for bring a 5 star business! read more

Honest, fair, and quality service. These guys keep my '66 Mustang running like a dream. Wouldn't take my classic anywhere else.

They always take good care of me. Never overcharge. Never do or recommend work that doesn't need to be done. Highly recommend.

When you visit Ace Automotive your car will get the best work possible by the most enthusiastic, knowledgeable, detailed, and skill people anywhere. Better still, the work is performed by a team of people with huge hearts, generous nature, and a patience to see things through in the kindest way. Not only new mechanics I admire, but also new friends I thank and treasure. Thank you so much for the professional work on my friend's VW yesterday. read more

Brake seized up on vacation. They are a high performance car shop but they had pity on our mini-van. They found the part and had it installed in under 2 hours. Got to wait in their air conditioned office. Toys for the kids, water for the dog. Great, friendly people. Texted us 2 days later to check on us. Above and beyond service. read more

Im so glad I decided to come here after being fed up with my other auto shop. Requesting a quote & making reservations through the Yelp function was super efficient. I basically came in to just drop off my car and keys with no paperwork to do since they had all of my information when we spoke through Yelp. It wasn't a quick in & out job since they were servicing multiple different cars at the same time, but the wait was reasonable. It's a decent sized, clean waiting room so it wasn't tedious at all. All of the workers are incredibly courteous & friendly and I loved that they knew their regulars plus their cars. Shows that they truly value & care for their customers. I found my go to now! I will definitely be back read more

Ace Automotive and Performance helped me out! For a few days I have been looking for some quotes for a new A/C compressor for my 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe as my A/C wasn't working. I was convinced I would have to spend close to $850 to get it fixed. I called ace automotive and they were able to quickly schedule an appointment. I dropped off my Tahoe at around 7:30 AM, a few hours later I got a phone call from Ace. They informed me my air conditioning was fixed, turned out it was not the compressor but instead a small component of the A/C system. This only cost me a fraction of the price, needless to say I was very pleased! Ace usually closes at 5 PM, however, they knew I had to run a long distance errand on this day. Ace employees stayed there about an hour or so passed closing so I could pick up my vehicle. This was the first time I have ever gone to Ace. The people who work at Ace are honest, efficient and just all around good people. This was very refreshing to see as there are not many shops like this around any more, at least in my experience. I will definitely be returning for future maintenance/repairs. Thanks again! read more

Ace Automotive has employees who obviously care. After a terrifying near-crash on the highway, the folks at Ace Automotive were kind and extremely helpful, and went out of their way to eventually get me back on the road. As a young female, it can be tough to know mechanics and what's right or not. It was very clear that this shop is genuine and honest and that they simply enjoy helping others. They spent over an hour (maybe 2) helping me and didn't charge me a penny. Thanks so much! read more

Ed, Donna, and Lester run a great business! They are extremely friendly and willing to help anybody with any automotive problem. They installed performance suspension parts on my car and did a great job. I provided the parts which turned out to have incorrect hardware. I brought the correct hardware in later and they redid that portion of the installation. Great customer service and friendly attitude! I have already recommended other car owners to go to the shop and I will recommend that you do too. read more

Took my car in because it was making strange noises while driving and shaking on the freeway. A little upsetting after I've had the shocks, bearings, breaks, and rotors replaced by other mechanics over the past couple years in pursuit of the reoccurring sound and shaking. After it was looked by Ace, I was advised that I just needed new tires and wouldn't be charged for the assessment. It was a total relief! Got my tires replaced and my car sounds like a dream!! Thank you so much for being so trustworthy! I'd definitely recommend to anyone to see Ace. I'll be back whenever I do need some work. Update: I've taken my car in a few more times and each time Ed and his team presented me with options. Giving this car to my daughter soon and feel confident it will be safe and mechanically sound. Just got a new car and am fully confident that Ed and his team will take good care of this one too! read more

5 stars is truly not enough!! This a a family business and they treat their customers they way they would treat their family members. I have taken my truck in several times for repairs and have always received excellent customer service. They have gone above and beyond anything I could imagine. My company only trusts our fleet to Ace as do many of the employee's with their cars. Ed will never tell you that you need something done that isn't necessary and as a single woman who before was afraid to take my own vehicle in I now feel completely comfortable and will never take my truck anywhere else! The amount of care and compassion Ed, Donna and Tiffany show blows me away! Not only is the work performed top notch they are truly amazing people. Donna and Ed are the best mechanic experience Iv encountered since living here in Fairfield!! Honest and up front. Thank you, Ace! We were on a roadtrip from the Sacramento Foothills to Santa Cruz when our car started struggling and the check engine light came on. We tried putting in oil, but that didn't do the trick, so a quick Google search brought up Ace as the closest mechanic. We called and they were able to get us in. We pulled in at 2:00 (on a Friday afternoon), and they had us back on the road 90 minutes later. Totally saved or weekend plans! It's a little thing, but they also had a whole kids area in the waiting room with colouring supplies, books, blocks, and cars. It was a lifesaver for travel with a two-year-old. Highly recommend this place! read more

The owner is super friendly and nice. I called around to other places comparing prices , and theirs were pretty reasonable. I also made the decision to bring my car here because the owner was very nice and answered all my questions. They were able to make a diagnosis on my car in a fast timely manner. They were able to get my car fixed and ready to pick up within just a few hours of getting the part for it. The owner was so nice as he tried his best to get my car to me that day because he knew how much of a hassle it was for me to be without it. They even worked passed their closing time to get it done. Also, they waited for us to pick up my car way after they closed because they knew how bad we needed the car. I definitely recommend this place. I'd give more stars if I could :) read more

9:30 at night halfway to my destination, I stop for gas and my car doesn't turn over, it doesn't even crank at all. Starter assembly needed to be replaced. 50 miles from home, 50 miles from where I'm going. I call the towing company and it'll cost me $400-500 to tow in either direction. No garage is open at this hour and I don't know of one in the area, I Yelp'ed auto mechanic and Ace Automotive comes up, I called and left a message. Approximately an hour later I receive a text message stating that the shop can take me in the morning and that Ed usually arrives at 730am (shop opens at 8:00) and that he will call me in the morning. The next morning I get a call from Ed, he's waiting for my arrival. Once I get there Ed calls for the part but Ed didn't like the price, he thought he could get it cheaper, he makes another search and he finds one cheaper by $30.00. Ed also includes the Yelp 15% discount on labor without me even having to ask. It's refreshing to come across a mechanic/businessman that truly looks out for the consumer. Approximately 2 hours later I'm in the road thanks to Ed and his associate! It would've been sooner but the part took a while to get there. Ace Automotive (Ed's shop), I would highly recommend for anyone in that area for your automotive needs! If I lived in this area I would trust Ace Automotive for servicing my vehicles. My Ford Expedition had the AC compressor go out on me. I chose Ace Automotive from all of the glowing reviews from folks that have had them work on their cars. Let me tell you...this place is legit! Just look at all of the classic cars that Ed has had in his shop! Those people don't just trust any ol' body to turn a wrench on their cars. When I saw that, I was convinced. Dropped the car off in the morning and it was ready and blasting ice cold air that afternoon! All I can say is...Ed, I will give all of my business to you guys and will wholeheartedly recommend you to everyone! Well done. read more

I'd give more stars if possible! I purchased a 54' Chevy truck from my neighbor that started sporadically. Got referred to Ace by Specialty Auto Sales in Benicia. Went by the shop and Ed took 30 minutes to talk to me about my truck and show me some of the beautiful projects in the shop. His friendly attitude and knowledge had me sold. I brought my truck in and he replaced a fan relay, rear brake line, master cylinder including brake fluid, king pins on the axle, and a new ignition switch (which was the cause of the starting issue), and some lowering blocks that needed adjusting. I felt good leaving the shop knowing he had looked over my truck and that a mechanic I can trust isn't far. I have told a few people already about Ace and how ED and Donna treat their customers. I have seen them at local car shows and they're always so friendly. DEFINITELY recommend this place and will be going there AGAIN! thanks so much ACE Automotive! read more
