We were seated quickly and the ambiance is very nice. They don't seem to plaster outdated decor all over the establishment or things that don't match. Our server was wonderful. My complaints are the food. Cons: The Texas Molcajete was very bland. They dumped sauce at the bottom of the mortar and none on the meat. The steak was thin and flavorless. The chicken was somewhat seasoned. Overall I wouldn't get that dish again. Pros: The cheese dip was not bad, a little more on the tangy side The drinks are mixed well In my books they would get a meh rating.

You'll enjoy the ambiance which is Mexican Eclectic, close to authentic. The food: Plentiful, tasty, and more than reasonably priced. Try one of the combos, and take home leftovers. Dos X beer on tap. Order a 32oz or a pitcher. The service is something I look forward to on every visit...fast and courteous...chatty also. You can't go wrong. Best Mexican food in Bartow County! 5 stars!

The price is right, the food is fast and good. Your portions are worth it. The chips and salsa rock! We were in a hurry and got our meal on time. The only complaint was we were sitting in an area where we could smell The food being cooked, and it was a bit strong, otherwise it was the perfect lunch spot.

Updating my review based on my most recent experience. Stopped by last Friday (3 days ago) for dinner and had a great time! We hardly come in for dinner on a busy night but we couldn't help ourselves that Friday and it was packed. Being super busy we still didn't have to wait long for a table. The staff and especially our waitress and was amazinggggg! I wish I remembered her name =(( She was an older lady maybe in her 40-50s and was taking care of the tables close to the bar. She was attentive and so so kind. Even with our kids she made sure they had what they needed and would ask them if they needed refills. I thought that was amazing because she SAW THEM and treated them as individuals. Bet she's a wonderful mom. All our foods came out great as per usual. Our dessert was forgotten but was brought after the realization and our waitress was so apologetic she didn't even charge us for them. We paid what they would've been and some anyway because she really deserved it. She really ended our night with good vibes

This is the piece of plastic that was found in my togo order of taco salad that I had ordered right at the end b4 checking out.

First time ever being at this restaurant. It was my son's birthday. He turned 29 so we wanted to try a new restaurant. But I do not recommend this restaurant ever ever again. From the time we ordered our food they told me that they did not have a speedy. That's the number one thing that I ordered all the time when I go to Mexican. The waitress had to go ask them if they could make me what I wanted to eat. Then my nephew, his order was wrong and they brought him out just cheese nachos without the beef and we ordered beef nachos. And then the other lady that was with us she ordered and she only had one piece of shrimp on her plate. So when we complain, her husband complaining, they brought her out three more shrimp. But that's after her food never came out with the other food. So she was eating off her husband's plate because her food never came until we had to tell the waiter again. Where is her plate at? Then we waited several minutes an hours seems like for the check and the to go boxes. The waiters never came over there to ask if we needed to go boxes never gave us to go drinks. And then when we got our tickets, they were split up into three different tickets And they were only supposed to be two tickets and they automatically put the tip on there for you and that's against the law that's still in and taking your hard work money. I was I was gonna give tip but it was gonna be cash and they would not allow that. And they said the manager said that once you have a party over eight that it's mandatory to put already on the bill. I have never heard that in my whole entire life. Plus the manager said it was on the menu too. That that's a lie because we looked on the menu and it was not on the menu so again that's called stealing. I ordered a to go plate for my loved ones. It was a taco Salad. I brought it home. It was very very soupy. And by the time we got down to the third or fourth bite there was a piece of plastic that was in our food. I took pictures of it and again I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Very unsatisfied unsatisfactory to be a business. Don't eat here if you are hungry. You will not go home full. No stars for this place.

Wonderful Mexican restaurant and service was top notch. Highly recommended

Clean and nicely decorated. Food was WAY too expensive it tasted fine but wasn't a better Mexican restaurant. Would not visit again.

We sat down to a "Cajun night" menu to which I inquired if that's like a weekly thing or what and was explained that they will occasionally do various themes and recently had done Italian. They had Cajun music playing and a full Cajun menu, it felt like we were in Louisiana which I am very familiar with, I have roots there. I think having themed nights is a very clever way to bring a variety of fine dining options to a small town that doesn't have a lot of restaurant options. Fully support! Love the concept! Having had frog legs before I didn't feel the need to explore again so didn't choose those. I instead opted for some more cozy comforts such as the Crawfish étouffée and Duck Andouille Gumbo. Both were delicious, my only gripe would be the presentation was quite lacking. Traditionally, for either of those dishes, the rice is served from a cup as a topper, not the gumbo or étouffée spooned atop the rice. But the flavor hit it out of the park. Hubby ordered the Blackened Redfish and this is where the chef's talents shine. This was the winning dish of the evening. Hubby hates okra, I love it, and I'd never had it grilled before though and I'll be using that cooking technique in the future, especially since hubby actually likes okra finally. But I don't want to focus on okra for a fish dish. The blackened redfish was so well seasoned and perfectly flaky, the pinto beans had great flavor as well. We finished our meal out with the beignets and coffees (hubby espresso and me a latte) which paired perfectly with the beignets. We ate them politely with the fork and knife provided though if you ain't covered in powdered sugar or accidentally proofing powdered sugar across the table when you take a bite are you even doing it right? ;) but they were delicious, everything was. Again the only suggestion I have is to consider presentation. The dishes looked a bit bland for the amount of flavor they packed. A slice of that grilled okra on top of my Gumbo or just anything simple would've gone a long way. Overall I'll give 5 stars. I have no complaints. The restaurant's vibe and decor are great, service was great, food was delicious. We had a great night!

Top 10 Meal of Our Lives!…read more We just had dinner at The Bistro on Broad in Winder, and it absolutely blew us away. We're no strangers to good food--we're certified foodies--and this meal easily cracked the top 10 meals of our lives. We started with the pimento cheese and gnocchi to share, and both were downright insane in the best way. Creamy, rich, balanced--like Southern comfort and fine dining had a baby. For entrées, we ordered the shrimp & grits and the Campanella with beef ragout... and then proceeded to eat off each other's plates all night because we genuinely couldn't decide which one we liked better. The shrimp & grits were smoky, buttery perfection, and the ragout was slow-cooked, soul-warming magic. Dessert? Blueberry cobbler and chocolate bread pudding. We were already full, but we pushed through like champions. Both were ridiculously good--the kind of good that makes you consider licking the plate. And major shoutout to Bree, our server--she was absolutely wonderful. Friendly, attentive, and spot-on with every recommendation. She made the experience even better. Everything from the food to the atmosphere to the service was top notch. Winder is lucky to have this gem. If you haven't been yet--go. And bring stretchy pants.

And pleasantly surprised that the service and food were better. Last night, night after Christmas and the place had only a few tables, at 6:30 and did not pick up as the night went on. Service again was slow, drinks again took forever to get. Again pitiful bread service with 3 pieces of bread for 3 people. Not 2 or 4 but exactly the number of people we had. Order the Christmas mistletoe margarita, if it had liquor I did not taste it. Ordered the lollipop chicken wings and the lollipop land chops as an app. We have had the lollipop chicken before and it did not taste the same. The sauce was different. Disappointing, consistency is key to a good restaurant. Ordered the short ribs, beet salad and the lobster mac. My sine had a ribeye and a filet rare , 6'4" muscle head. The filet was med well and the ribeye was medium. The short ribs were so salty could not eat it. The lobster mac and cheese was running and the beet salad was also very salty. This tells me these were previously cooked and recooked and the salt was accentuated by the concentration of cooking again. The beet salad had great flavor except is was very salty too. Sad to say I'm done. 3 strikes your out!

Dial the number on the antique phone and the door magically opens. The staff super friendly and helpful. The bartenders are the best, clearly passionate about their work. I highly encourage you to try one or several of their signature cocktails. I sampled the Left Bank Martini and Vesper. As expected they are fully stocked with Pappy Bourbon, hard to find Amaro Noni. Ask a bartender about the ice block. The place is spacious unlike other speakeasys I've been to. Lots of niche areas with couch reservations, pool table available. No time for a cigar but that is on my list when I return. Food available from their upstairs sister restaurant.

I sat at the bar and had a little light banter with the bartender who is a brother looking to be in his late 30's-early 40's. When I asked about two fruity cocktails from the menu, he flat-out said he wasn't going to make them. That alone was off-putting. Trying to move forward, I asked what he specialized in, and he said he'd "come up with something." I agreed--but very clearly stated: no rum, because my body does not react well to it. After watching him make drinks for people who ordered after me, he eventually handed me a cocktail I never even saw him prepare. That already raised a flag. I took a few sips, and sure enough--my stomach immediately started reacting the exact way it does when I've had rum. When I asked what alcohol he used, he said, "I don't even know." That response alone tells you everything you need to know. At that point, I reminded him I specifically said no rum. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to argue and backtrack. Let me be clear--when a customer tells you not to use a specific liquor, you don't ignore it, guess, or "forget." That's basic service and basic respect. This situation completely threw off my evening, as I had plans afterward and ended up feeling sick. To make matters worse, I reached out to management and received no response. That lack of accountability speaks volumes. At the end of the day, this wasn't just a bad drink--it was careless service. This staff does not prioritize customer care, and that's a problem. If you choose to visit, be very direct, pay close attention, and don't assume your requests will be respected.

"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.
