For being the supposed #1 coffee roaster in America their actual phyiscal location was super disappointing. I ordered the Brian Quan collaboration on manual brew, and it was one of the worst cups of "good coffee" I've ever had. For a Sey x Brian Quan thing I was honestly expecting my mind to be blown, but instead it was pretty much more like mind-blowingly bad. I also noticed another person order the same thing as me, and they also didn't finish this. When I glanced at the tasting notes, the fact that the first flavor was "white tea" is perhaps maybe why though. It's possible that this was actually really good and my palate just isn't sophisticated enough to appreciate the notes of white tea, but in fact I think white tea for coffee is just a bad idea. Next time roast it a little darker and maybe it will be better read more

Good espresso, great space, lots of light, and many seating options. Went on a Thursday afternoon and there were many people but still a few open seats. The no laptop policy only applies to the bar area that is adjacent to the espresso machine and register from what I can tell. There are outlets on the walls for charging if needed, and the bathroom has (clean) reusable towels for drying your hands! Love eco-friendly places. read more

Dumbest place ever... they don't allow laptops? Even when the place is practically empty? Does no one here have work to do? There's one tiny bench in the back corner where they allow laptops but of course those couple of seats are always taken and then the vast majority of seating (and there's a lot of seating!) has no laptop signs. And not one single employee could recommend one single place in the area at which I can sit with a laptop...? i got a latte to stay but then asked for it to go once they told me I can't sit with a laptop and goddamn pouring the latte into the to go cup really emphasized how tiny that $6 latte was lol, there were like 3 inches of empty cup space before I even had one sip. Also there's no flavored syrups :( Definition of pretentious Brooklyn hipster vibes It was weird. There was a tiny table in the back corner directly next to/behind the tiny laptop bench and I was like can I please just sit there and do my work just until I finish my coffee no one can even see me over there and they held a firm no. I was able to squeeze this place in on my brief coffee tour of New York. Labor Day didn't slow down this staff. The inside was buzzing with activity. My Espresso with Milk (Cortado) was excellent. The staff truly care about the little details. The milk was nicely steamed. The espresso didn't come out burnt and the flavor of the coffee was able to shine. As a lover of Cortados this hit the spot for me. In addition, I got an order of the Gesha and boy oh boy was this a treat. I definitely got the floral notes and fruity berry. read more

After being listed as the second best coffee shop by Beli eats, I knew I had to try the coffee when I was in the East Williamsburg area. I got a cappuccino, but I was rather disappointed by its flavor. I thought it lacked flavor and was overly nutty (which I am sure will appeal to others taste buds). Came here after a photo shoot to hang out and my first impression was it a beautiful space very bright and airy. As I walked up to the counter the person lacked hospitality and energy, seemed as they didn't want to be here. I ordered the hot chocolate and it tasted very bland, I don't think I will give this place a second chance. read more

Must visit if you like fine coffee. I tried drip and cappuccino. I like how both drinks came with sparkling water. Their beans are lightly roasted but still have a profound taste. I also picked up a bag of beans so I can pour over when I get home. read more

Absolutely delicious batch brew. Place is super vibey and busy, but everyone was friendly and found a seat. Don't plan on using your laptop as only one table allows for that while the rest of the tables have "no computers" signs on them. Have a conversation or read a book or something instead. read more

I've never had a latte this smooth in my entire life. What is normally a drink that features a milk-part and an espresso-part was blended into one silky whole. We were exploring Bushwick and came here to warm up. I don't like coffee, so I decided to get a cup of tea. All of their teas have interesting flavors under them. I didn't taste it in the one we got, but everyone else did. It felt very pricey for a cup of tea, so I'm not sure that I would get that again. I loved the space. It was full of plants with a great decor. It was full of people with their laptops out and hard to find a table, but we did manage to find one. If you're looking for a cute coffee shop, stop by and check this one out. read more

I've walked by this place several times and didn't really believe it would be a nice inside. I thought it would be super expensive and just okay. However I've been converted. The coffee is about 4-5 dollars a delicious. I love that I comes with seltzer water as well! There is lots of seating, free WiFi and also outlets. Great place to catch up with friend for coffee or quick spot to work on laptop. It does seem to get crowded easily though and run out of space, but hey it's worth checking it out to see if there is space or not in my opinion. They also sell some pastries, I don't think there is savory food though. There seem to be some cool stuff happening near the back of the store but I was busy working on stuff so didn't get a chance to check it out. Overall if you want coffee or just read a book, definitely recommend this place. Great coffee shop in the neighborhood. read more

Coffee tasted like the collective various flavours of sawdust floating around that nook of Williamsburg post gentrification. The baristas looked and had attitudes as miserable as their coffee tasted. Patrons pretend working and networking there felt as real as any given Kardashian/Jenner's body. read more

Food and Wine's pick for the top coffee shop of New York, that's crazy! Coffee was great, vibes were great, bathroom was clean, and customer service was on point. So many regulars were coming in it was fun to sit and watch the crowd. read more

One of the best coffeeshops I've been to in NYC, and I've been to quite a few. While I got a lil cappuccino - my classic go-to order, I've heard that their pour-overs are to die for. It's a ways out in Brooklyn, but easy to get to by subway and is definitely worth a visit. The coffeeshop was bustling when we visited, yet the service was quick and the baristas were very friendly! Great place to check out if you like to try different single origins, as they serve a good variety. read more

It's a club that serves tea and coffee. It's not the establishment's fault that I was completely overwhelmed and stressed while drinking my chai, but that drink was unfortunately underwhelming and flavourless. The music is way too loud for me, so I experienced sensory overload and felt uncomfortable here. If the drink was yummy, I would get it again, but it wasn't, so I have no reason to ever return. The additional star is for the kindness of the staff and the interior decoration. read more

I'm sure there are other 1 star reviews that have the same complaint, but I feel compelled to bring this up regardless. They only regulate laptops to a tiny bench, which was overcrowded. When I sat on a different bench with my laptop in my lap, a barista immediately came over and told me to put it away. Yeah I get you're trying to go for a vibe. But it is obviously widely known that many people seek out coffee shops to work on their laptops. If you're going to so harshly control what people do in your coffee shop, maybe bring that up when someone is first purchasing a coffee? "Oh sir, I see you have a backpack. If you want to use your laptop, we only have 5 cramped chairs in the corner for you to fight over with all the other guests. If you don't want to be touching thighs with a stranger while you attempt to do work, then I would advise you not purchase a coffee here and waste your money." I'll go out of my way to tell everyone I know to avoid this place when there are so many other options around. Hope the vibe is worth it. read more

If you're looking for an aesthetic cafe for your next coffee break, I would highly recommend! I love how much natural light is let in through the skylights and the entrance. The well lit area, wooden furnishings, hanging lamps, and plants make for a very clean and aesthetically pleasing cafe. The cafe itself is on the smaller side, but the decor makes it seem very spacious. If you're a fan of shops with converted garage door walls, you'll like it even more. The employees are super kind and helped me choose a drink based on my preferences. I ordered an iced coffee because I prefer my coffee plain, but the different tea options look enticing and I would definitely come back to try them. Highly recommend if you're in the area and are in need of a coffee break! read more

Not bad, but mediocre coffee, rude and pretentious staff, overpriced. Cashless establishment which I believe is illegal in NYC as of 2020, for it discriminates against the poor. The open space and plants are very nice to be around, but the atmosphere is ruined by it being one of the worst examples of gentrification in the neighborhood. I am so tired of coffee shops now banning laptops. We pay a crazy amount of money for your overpriced lattes and baked goods and we're not allowed to do any work on our laptops. I wasted an hour of my time walking to your coffee shop on a cold Saturday morning. You want customers to pay a lot of money for your products but don't want to create a welcoming atmosphere. For the record, when I was there, your coffee shop was only half full and you still wouldn't let me work on my laptop when I asked. I will never be coming back. You should advertise that you're anti-laptop, anti-customer, pro-profit. read more

Lovely selection if tea. I got the first red tea at the top. They brew the leaves themselves and come out on this cute Instagrammable container. The price of the teas are r bit high (ranges 8-10) but the first one is $5 so I got that and it was quite tasty. I added a bit of sugar and accentuated the tea taste. I wanted to try the hot chocolate but it was expensive $6 for a small cup....the brooklyn cafe we went to in the morning sold it for $3.5 in the same cup size so I didnt want to spend double. But I would come here again for $5 cup of tea. I would want to try other teas but not sure if it's worth $10.... nice cozy area w a lot of green for a place to study. It does close a bit early 7pm. read more

$4 for a small coffee. Coffee is weak, tastes burnt. They don't offer 1/2 n 1/2 only cow or oat milk. I expected more for that price. I just had a cup of Folgers right before out of desperation and needed some real coffee, literally no difference, surprisingly. The inside is sort of spacious in a generic industrial cafeteria way, but not exactly a comfortable layout or vibe. The barista was nice, nothing memorable. Didn't look at the food options after the coffee price and quality was a disappointment. Swallow across the street is better for work w/ outlets to plug in, or hanging out in comfy chairs, and coffee is much better. read more
