The interior design is very European, minimalistic, and serene. It's bright, quiet, and peaceful if you're looking to have a slow morning. The coffee here is excellent. The Cappuccino was balanced, bold, and creamy. Simple yet executed well. The Iced Cardamom Latte was revitalizing from the very first sip. The cardamom syrup is essentially a $2 up-charge and seems to be the only flavor available. Each sip had that warm, aromatic, and light sweetness. The same goes for the Cardamom Bun although it tasted a bit undercooked/chewy as opposed to being fluffy on the inside. On the other hand, the Croissant was ultra buttery with that delicately shattering exterior yet super balanced in richness and flavor. Was excited to try La Cabra as the most anticipated coffee to try in NY. It was fancy, but for the average coffee drinker like me, this place didn't do much... I just went for espresso with Barbosa (Brazilian) and it came out with carbonated water which was great to cleanse palate for max enjoyment I guess. This was ok to pretty good for me. Wife went for the pour over Sudan Rume (Colombia) which sounded great washed, floral and balanced. But when I tried it, this was just very weird flavor for me. Didn't even know coffee could smell and taste like this, reminded me more of like some kind of fermented miso or bean paste soup flavor? No idea. The cafe was very clean but maybe too clinical and too quiet where I didn't feel comfortable even talking to break the zen silence of the library like environment. Finally got to try the infamous cardamom bun. Not sure if it is the same caliber as the Manhattan location but I thought it was pretty delicious for a rainy Sunday. I found the space here stunning. I almost forgot I was in Bushwick lol. Very clean, elegant, serene, all the things I love! they have cubicle style spots which I think I will be frequenting a lot come this fall as well as standard seating. Ooooh la la! What do we have here?!? Absolutely lovely coffee roastery in Bushwick! You would think we were in LA! Very clean aesthetic, super open, super natural color palette, very tattooed employees and the tastiest of Danish dessert rolls! Oh my! It's no surprise we are blessed to have this roastery located so close to home. And also there's locations around the world. Can't say anything but good for this place. Love the coffee and pastry especially their signature cardamom bun. It has cardamom taste but not too overpowering and sweet at the same time. And the coffee, say no more. One of the best ice coffee we had in NYC. Their matcha latte is okay though but love it. Came here for the first time last week and had a really great experience. The staff here are friendly and nice! I love the interior. It's literally everything I'd want in a coffee shop. The vibe that they are trying to convey is of an upscale establishment; however, the service here did not match. I asked for a decaf as it was later in the day and wanted to make sure I did not disrupt my body. One of the baristas laughed!?! The person checking me out then said that they did not offer decaf. What I did drink was then pretty sour. For all of the fuss about trying to have an elevated palate and experience it was not at all what I expected. I live close to the La Cabra in the East Village so compared to that location, this is much bigger, less crowded, and just overall so aesthetically chic and peaceful. Looks like a nice place to do some work or quiet reading. Initially, I would give this place 5 stars but after having gone 3 times, I see their prices aren't consistent. An iced matcha on 2nd Ave is $7.89 after taxes and the two times I came here for matcha the prices were different. $9.25 the first time and $9.80 the second after I asked for a "small" and they confirmed oh you want a 12oz? My friends always speak so highly of la cabra so I knew I had to come try myself. I love finding any excuse to try a new coffee and pastry spot. Came here specifically for their pastries and all three pastries were phenomenal! I can't say one bad thing about them because they all have their own unique flavor that makes them so delicious. I got the cardamon bun which was very delicious the spice and flavorful soft bun was chefs kiss. My mom enjoyed the spice in this bun a lot! Also got their ham and cheese croissant, so flavorful yummy savory and just everything you want in a hand and cheese croissant. Also got their classic croissant because you can never go wrong with a plain classic croissant. It was buttery crisp flaky and you can see the layers of air pockets in it just absolutely delicious. Love la cabra pastries and love how it's a walk from home. Service was fast place was very quiet and zen great for working from home and grabbing a coffee vibe. There's plenty of seating and endless options of things to try. All 3 pastries together were $22.
