I don't understand these other reviews AT ALL. I love this place. All of the staff are always so accomodating. Lily & Tom are such perfectionists and will do just about anything to make sure you're happy with what you've gotten done. My eyebrows always look amazing if I get them threaded here. Seriously. I won't go anywhere else for my nails, even though the building I work in has a darn nail salon inside of it. My no chip had chipped & peeled on several nails within 3 hours. When I went back to have them fixed, the owner threw a complete temper tantrum. He said he would fix them (as he should), but blamed me for the peeling, even though this shouldn't happen within hours of a "no-chip". He yelled throughout the salon, loudly saying things like 'don't mess with my business' and "you either love me or you f*cking hate me". It was obsurd and unprofessional. I didn't even want to stay to get them fixed bc I felt soo uncomfortable after that. Prior to this, I came here dozens of times (with only few minor issues). Ive been here before, no chip manicure in a simple color was fine, but I got my acrylics done for the first time here and they looked good for the first 10 seconds but it's day two and they look absolutely horrible... I got no chip and they are already chipping off the sides and they look bubbly and streaky... Very disappointed... I paid $70 for this. They charged me 60 and I gave the woman a $10 tip because I felt bad. I'm supposed to go to a wedding with these janky nails. I honestly at this point just wanna cut them off. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place is horrible, and the service was unbearable. I'm surprised this place isn't in shambles. I came to get my eyebrows done before a romantic dinner date for Valentine's Day. Instead of getting a standard clean-up, they ripped my eyebrow. I was very unhappy w my nails I've been to this location before and never had any problems. Charlie was unprofessional, didn't tell me I had a new nail tech I had to keep correcting her. And when I stated to Charlie and showed him my nails, how unhappy I was w them he did offer to come back and get them fixed but I told him I wouldn't pay til I get them fixed and he said it's okay don't pay for them and don't come back which I thought was very rude and unprofessional considering he is the boss there. Do not go to the lady that does nail in the back row of the salon. He told me when I paid she tried, and we're not paying full price for someone to TRY, sorry not sorry never coming here again. Stay far far away!! I should've learned my lesson when I said I would never be back months ago after I waited an hour for a no chip and they continuously took other patrons before me. I came in for a full set of gel nails and I'm sorry but does a manicure not come included with that ? My cuticles are still noticeable and completely dry because whoever did them didn't even touch them! Nail Polish is all over my cuticles. When I went to pay I asked the guy at the front if my cuticles were supposed to be cut and his response was "well that's for a manicure or pedicure when they soak in water.." WHAT? I came here on Sunday to get a quick manicure. I'm not from the area and came to visit for a few days, and needed a service. Since we flew into Midway Airport, I needed to find a nearby location that was open on Sundays who could take a walkin without much wait. The location is easy to find. When I entered the salon, I was quickly greeted by a lady doing a pedicure. I told her I needed a manicure and inquired if they could take me and how long of a wait it would be. She said 5 minutes and offered me to choose my color. I did so, then waited about 5 minutes before I was invited to sit down. My manicurist was polite but short. The file & buffer she used on me were not brand new, though the side of the file used on my nails was new. The package the metal manicurist tools were taken from was an autoclave pouch: however, the package was neither sealed nor had it been run through an autoclave - at least not the kind I have been around. The package should look like it's been wetted and dried from those I've seen. Even if an autoclave used heat technology, the pouch should have been sealed. She gave an efficient manicure. She hardly used any lotion on my hands and didn't give what I would call a massage, but more of a 45 second rub on each hand. She did a nice polish job and I was out within 30 minutes at the most. After moving me to the drying table, she went and took the bowl and tools to the back sink. I know she rinsed the bowl out, but I'm not sure she even used soap in the bowl, although barbicide or hospital grade solution should be used to sterilize all tools. Also, the salon really needs a fresh paint job and a good tidying up. The only reason I gave even a 2 star rating is because I received a good polish job. The lack of sterilization practices are enough to honestly merit an overall bad review, and I hope they will take sanitization seriously before someone gets an infection. A week ago I went to a salon on 79th & Cicero and got a "no-chip" manicure. It sucked. The cuticles looked ragged, they were not filed right, and my nails were peeling after a few days. I decided to give this salon a try. Tony assured me he would do a better job. He did a fabulous job! I'm definitely coming back. Terrible experience. First and foremost, I have an open mind. I decided to try this local place by a recommendation of an acquaintance. I have another local "go-to" nail salon nearby, but decided to try this one out - you never know. When I walked in, it wasn't busy at all. I asked for a mani/pedi, regular polish - $38 (eh, okay, I usually get mine at a sale price of $35. But again I was trying the place, right?). There were only 2 patrons when I walked in. My pedicure was okay, the technician wasn't friendly nor accommodating. My feet soaked in cold water and when it came down to painting my nails, he rushed super quickly. Pedicure took at most 10-15 minutes, it was completely rushed. I still gave it a shot, I mean I still had the manicure to go... I had previous polish on, so he certainly looked a little irritated that he had to remove it... I can tell because when he started to put fresh polish on, I still had the residue of the old purple polish around my cuticles. I figured, oh he'll take it off later... Maybe. Next came the step on removing the dead skin around the cuticles... Boy, did that hurt. He literally snagged the dead skin off pinching me at each inch (I have a high level of patience, but at this point it was diminishing quickly). Next the polish came. He painted my nail to an imaginary line that made my nails look as if the nails were 85% painted... You could see the bottom of my fingernail unpolished (I'm a nail polish fan, I certainly could have done a better job!). Then it came down to getting my nails dry at which point I was left at the drying station for 20 minutes without any attendance as my coat was scattered on one chair, my beverage and shoes at another station. Evidently, I couldn't grab my belongings because my feet and hands were wet and I didn't receive any help in the meantime. An absolute terrible job, experience, and customer service! What a waste of money! My go-to is normally Elegant Nails, and you bet I'll be back there again. I'll never go back to Sexy Nails again. Oh, and if you wondered if he ever removed the old polish around my cuticles? He didn't. I still had residue all over, which I later took off with a Qtip at home; after I paid. read more

I'll start off by saying I'm rating two stars only because Tony has always done an amazing job and in my opinion is the best and kindest nail tech there. If you do come to this salon, please only request Tony. After going there for a year or so, every other nail tech that I've experienced leaves me in tears. I usually don't do reviews for anything but this was the final straw. I came in to get my acrylic nails taken off. I know they usually just take another nail tip and force the acrylic off the nail, which in the past it has never bothered me and I can take a little pain to get the job done. But today, the man helping me was so rough, and even after I told him repeatedly that I was in pain, he would just pause for a second and continue forcing the nail off. Each nail he took off was left mangled and bleeding, there's even a chunk missing out of one. I absolutely agree I should've said something sooner, but I hate confrontation and making a scene. So after he got to the 4th nail he left bleeding, I told him to stop so I could wipe my tears and leave. I'm upset that he didn't listen to me after I told him I was in a lot of pain, upset that he continued after what he was doing was clearly doing damage, and I'm most upset that I spent an hour waiting to get taken just to leave with worse nails than when I got there. DISAPPOINTING! I went in to get a no chip manicure, after waiting for about 45 mins I got a nail technician. First off she filed my nails so short and took the corners off when I said squared. I told her that they looked uneven and she kept telling me they looked fine. She then said nothing and just gave me off to another nail technician. Then I had to get acrylic on one nail to try to make up for the messed up nail. My manicure didn't even last two weeks before it chipped. I went back today to try to fix it. When the going rate for a manicure in Midway is anywhere from $15.00 to $20.00 it was a FABULOUS PLEASURE to pay you Sexy Nails only $12.00 for my manicure!!! Clean/Modern facilities, awesome staff--they did NOT speak in their Asian foreign tongue to one another, which i Loved cause I'm always paranoid that they are secretly talking smack about me lol. I can tell that they care for the work they are doing and not just rushing to get me done like most of salons do. The staff is also super friendly which is a plus!! Horrible ! I went and got my no chip done. I have been getting them done for years and they routinely last me 2 weeks. This salons no chip started PEELING UP after two days. In addition one of my nails was filed to be significantly shorter and a different shape than the rest. If you like the almond or stiletto shape, skip this place. They usually do a great job, have great mostly OPI polish, and obviously are good because yes, you do have to wait 15-20 minutes if you don't have an appointment. If you have an appointment they usually get you right in, and I have been there at least a dozen times. To the people leaving nasty reviews about the service, hve you ever had a mani/pedi before? They are always run by traditional people of Asian descent. They typically ask something like, "What you want?" They aren't being rude, just being typical of their ethnicity. I don't know why I haven't come here sooner - I was really impressed! $26 for a spa pedicure! I'll take it! It was pretty busy when I came on a Saturday afternoon but there wasn't a wait, which was nice. They had about 10 employees working so they were adequately staffed. Everything was really clean and the chairs were really comfortable. They also came around with bottled water for everyone, which I thought was a really nice touch. Parking is no problem in their lot - especially since Blockbuster is gone from the strip mall. NOTE: Starting November 1st through March 31st they are closed Sundays. read more

A friend referred me to this place and I tried it out. The first time I went was great. I had an awesome no chip that lasted for a very long time. I went a second time once my first no chip needed to be touched up. I got there, waited in line which was fine. They got me in to soak off the no chip and I was literally soaking for a half hour without anyone checking up on me. Girls were going ahead of me and honestly, I think they forgot about me until finally someone checked my nails. The gentleman said that the guy who is to take care of me is almost done with his client. Okay, cool, I was totally understanding. Then he comes. peels the no chip off, starts filing down and then starts taking the cuticles out. OUCH! he made me bleed for one. And when it was time for polish, he was so sloppy it was all over my skin! He tried his best to clean it off but it didn't do much. Then he sticks my hand under the UV light to dry the no chip. IT WASN'T ON! I had to tell him to turn it on and he realized oh yeah, I forgot! So he turned it on and started painting again over my nails without having time to dry. This ended up making my nails bumpy, rigid, and the base so uneven (with polish on my skin) that I was honestly shocked on how they would employ such an awful nail tech. Finally, I addressed the problem to him and he tried fixing them by taking the no chip off and re polishing over it without filing it down to make it smooth! There were still chunks of no chip that was on before that he was trying to paint over!! The owner/manager or someone came and said that they will soak them off and re-do them. By this time, it had been an hour and a half of being there and I just wanted to go home! He didnt even finish my thumb, I had to go home with bumpy nail beds from the polish with an undone thumb! I'm talking about a bare finger nail with no polish. I told them to at least paint it since I work in hospitality and my nails need to look good and they didnt even do it for me. When I drove home, I looked down at my nail and saw a piece of it peeling. I grabbed it and just peeled the whole thing off. Now I have a bare middle finger. The guy was very rough with my toe nails and cut me on my big toe which made it very painful when he cleaned it with acetone and wear my flats for work.
