Rather than buy a couple of new shirts I decided to see if my old shirts which hadn't been worn much could be altered. My wife had used A Better Fit so I gave them a call and the lady I spoke with said she could do what I wanted. I dropped off my shirts and got them back in a couple of weeks. She came up with an ingenious fix and the charge was minimal. A Better Fit is a little hard to find as it is located in a small commercial building which houses a State Farm agency and a couple of other small businesses. You need to be alert to find it. Most of the work she seems to do is on wedding gowns but I was very happy with the service and I highly recommend.
