Has anyone else lost their property that was being worked on by Precision Tailoring when the owner, Doreen, abruptly closed her business?

Since my last visit, I was pleased to see that they have opened up the back room of the building. Style Society is a mix of Patina, thrift, home goods and plants all mashed into one spot. This is a great shop for gifts or if you are seeking to swap out furniture or purchase vintage kitchen wear. From refurbished coffee tables to sofas and dressers, there is something for everyone here. There is a plant section, clothes, candles, vintage mugs, trivets, saucepans, etc. If you name it, you can probably find it here. During December, the shop is seasonally decorated with ornaments and various other trinkets. The shop has nice sections to the store broken out by item with good organization - not too overwhelming considering the vast selection. There's usually really nice incense burning when you enter the space or candles. The interior is really clean and the staff is friendly. Most items are priced within reason yet there are a few that can be spendy. Find some items within your budget and you'll love it here. While you're in the area, check out Claddagh Coffee and St. Vincent de Paul thrift next door. Saint Paul is so lucky to have you, Style Society!

I felt that we were scoffed at because it was just my daughter and I (not a huge group there to support). I feel like being offered a bottle of water would be a nice touch since you have to pay to even have an appt. I wasn't allowed to "shop" the store with my daughter and she was really rushed and pressured to try on dresses that weren't her style. We were never given a moment to even talk about the dresses privately, it all just felt very impersonal. She asked the canned questions of course, but it didn't come across as genuine. I had high hopes, but it fell short. Will definitely purchase from a different boutique.

From the moment I walked in, to the time I spent searching for a dress with the individual who helped me, to buying it, everything turned out awesome. The selection of dresses they had were beautiful, and I really appreciate that they were under $500! The dress I bought was the first dress I tried on, but I did try on a few others after that to make sure. I'm extremely happy that I was able to find such a beautiful dress that fit and that I could come pick it up a few days after buying it. I would recommend coming here if you want to find a wedding dress that is affordable and gorgeous!

It's 45 minutes away and they said come on fri to pick up new shirt. We both worked and had decorating etc for wedding. We came up with our own remedy my nephew would pick it up. The where is part is it on the day of the wedding my husband put on his tux with his new shirt. Looks good. Took the dogs out and I was bending over to get something for the dogs I looked at my husband pants and it was very visible a hole in his crotch! It isn't like it could be seen. When he tried it on of course she didn't look at his crotch he just assume that you paid 200 and some dollars for Tux for a few days that they are in good shape. He has sew his own pants. when we brought it back no oh that's terrible we're sorry. They said we should've brought it to be fixed. Apparently the policy of the store when speaking to the store owner is that the Tux must be returned to the store the following day of prom (Sunday) or returned to the high school on Monday. Our son returned the Tux on Monday in person at the store. He was charged $40 for this. When speaking with the store owner (Kathy) she said "I'm sorry that your son is not able to read" and was quite rude and not willing to work with us at all. How rude is it to insult someones child when receiving a customer complaint? Especially when the parents are asking them to be understanding since the Tux was still returned the same day the high school students returned their clothes to the school. It is crazy how important $40 is to a store and their willingness to loose a client instead of providing good customer service and be more understanding of high school age students not fully understanding what all the policies are. If I were you, I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. This is not a matter of $40 as much as it about poor customer service and the principles of the owner.

After several weeks of trying desperately to find something…read moreoff-the-rack to wear for my wedding in the Tetons, I finally decided that it was time to look into Joy. My mom and I walked into this gorgeous atelier, and were immediately greeted by an enthusiastic and effervescent Joy, who started asking me questions about what styles I like and what I feel looks best on me. Long or short? Strapless or sleeves? What style waist? I tried on a few of the stock dresses she has on her hangers (she literally customizes every dress to YOU, whether it's a custom style or not), and we started formulating an idea of what my ideal dress would look like. She ripped off sheats of organza and started wrapping them around my body, and suddenly a dress appeared! I had three more fittings with her, and each time I got more and more excited about what was taking shape. She totally supported my vision, guiding me along the way to ensure that I would look exactly how I wanted on my wedding day, and crafted an elegant, completely unique piece that reflected the atmosphere and aesthetic we were aiming for. Her attention to detail is impeccable (she even stitched into the dress my dad's initials, so I could feel like he was a part of things even in his absence). Her energy, her creativity, her ability to make a reality out of your vision is inspiring, and makes her creations stand out even more. Joy made our wedding even more memorable thanks to her dedication to her craft, and I can't thank her enough for it. She's worth every single penny (and, by the way, you'll EASILY spend as much money on a generic dress that needs alterations as you will on a totally customized dress that matches you, your style, your body, your aesthetic perfectly). I'll be back for more!

She is SO EASY TO WORK WITH (I felt like we were a team) and really understood the direction I wanted to take the design. I was able to explain my thoughts and ideas for the dress in rough/basic terms (poofy here, flowing there, etc) and she just totally got it... making it EVEN BETTER THAN I HAD IMAGINED it myself. Its such an amazing piece of art, Ive decided to have it framed. And it wasnt just my opinion... even the professionals i had hired for our wedding (photographer, videographer... She made me feel like a fairy princess and I cant thank her enough for making my dress experience nothing short of magical. She is wonderful to work with and extremely talented. GREAT JOB, JOY!!!

I may be an outlier here but didn't have a good experience going to this place. What I recommend to…read moreanyone going there is to make sure they write their estimate for a job down, hand it to you, and you keep it until you come back for pick-up. I've been there twice and each time the total is much higher than the estimate they gave me. After this last time I've decided I won't be going here again. Over a month ago I went in to ask how much it would cost to have a broken zipper replaced on my winter coat. I was told it was $60, which was too much for my budget, so I said I would think about it. A few days later a family member volunteered to pay for this clothing repair as a Christmas gift, so I thanked them and dropped the coat off. I was told I would be contacted when the job was completed. Three and half weeks later I hadn't heard from them, and had been dealing with single digit temperatures in a thinner coat I was using at the time. I paid them a call and asked if there was any updates on my coat. "Well, did you get a text that we had finished it?" she asked. I said no. "Then no, we're not done." I was little taken aback because she seemed irritated I had called, but figured she might be having a bad day. I listened as she looked around and eventually found my coat, then told me it would probably be done in a week or so. That brought my waiting time to nearly a month. That next week I received a text and went in to pick up my coat. The total the employee gave me was $80, $20 more than the estimate I had been given. "Wait, why is it so high?" I asked. She scoffed said, "Uh, because it's actually really hard work." In that moment I thought, "Oh, you're who I talked to on the phone" and realized that she probably wasn't having a bad day, that's just how she talks to people. I laughed it off and explained that it wasn't a complaint about the cost, but the fact that it was $20 more than we discussed. "Oh, that's tax," she said, which didn't make sense, then called her mother over to speak with me, the owner of the place. I explained the problem to her and she said that they charged by the inch and remeasured the zipper. Now she was saying it was $68 for the repair, plus an additional fee then the tax on the purchase. In that moment, I had two choices: which was to remind her once again of the estimate, ask her why it had changed, and why she hadn't mentioned additional fees when I had come in twice and talked about how I was on a budget. Or I could just say, "You know what? Just keep the coat," and walk away. Then I thought, "What is the difference? They obviously don't remember me and they don't care. They also made me wait nearly a month and have treated me like an idiot." After all, most of cost would be covered by someone who had volunteered to help me out and keep me warm for the winter. I quickly decided to get as far away as these people as soon as I could. I just said, "Uh-huh, uh-huh" while they repeated how much it cost, paid them and left. When I finally put on the repaired coat and tried out the zipper it jammed and I couldn't get it off for several minutes. So even the quality of the job wasn't that great. I had to laugh. If you decide to use this place for repairs or alterations, be careful. And make sure that whatever is discussed is put in writing.
