If you're into AYCE sushi this is the place for you. This spot delivers excellent quality, abundant variety, and great value -- especially with its all-you-can-eat format that lets you savor everything from fresh nigiri and classic rolls to Japanese robata-grilled skewers and flavorful small plates. They have $37 and a $57 option which includes k bbq and some other items. The whole table must choose the same option. The $57 option was not worth it in my opinion. They don't really have a dessert menu and the only thing they had available was mochi ice cream. They also serve like 9 rolls for the specialty maki rolls. The place looked clean and simple. We also had a hair in our Korean bbq short ribs. They did apologize and made up for it by giving us some more toro. The servers weren't too attentive as we waited for our check for a little bit.

Raw options significantly better than cooked, but overall solid option for a more premium experience. I thought the sushi options were excellent. All the fishes we ordered: bluefin tuna, sea bass, salmon belly, sweet shrimp, toro were all extremely fresh and delicious. Presentation was also gorgeous. There is a 2 pieces limit per person on the wagyu, toro, and sweet shrimp, but for $57/person I will take it, especially when I can still get unlimited bluefin tuna, sea bass, and salmon belly. One of the rolls also contain toro and there is no limit on that. Love love love the three rolls we got. There is a clean and refreshing taste with these rolls that you typically find at higher end place in comparison to the overly sweet drenched in eel and spicy mayo rolls everywhere else. They def know what flavor works together here and it's been a while since I've had good unique rolls at an ayce place. Less to be said about the cooked food. Galbi and shrimp were decent. Ribeye steak was just a blob of fat so I wouldn't bother ordering. The skewers overall were incredibly tough, especially the gizzard, and bland, especially the chicken skin. I did enjoy the okra skewer. Overall 4 stars since I did come for the sushi. I just wish the quality is more consistent throughout the menu.

Friends and I had been craving some sushi, and what better place to come than an AYCE that had excellent reviews. We came on a Friday night, and the place wasn't too packed, so we were able to get a table right away. We were greeted quickly by our server Leilani, who was just an absolute delight. We knew we were going with the $57 dollar AYCE, so that we could get some more of the high-end items. We ordered all of them!! The only thing here, vs. a few other places I've been, is that you get a max of 2 pieces of each of those items per person. So we started that portion out as our appetizer! LOL, and none of them disappointed; they were all really good. I noticed that the wasabi was milder here compared to other places I've been, so I was really able to taste each item for what it was. As the night went on, we asked Leilani for her recommendations on her favorite options, and everything she recommended was really good. One of the favorites of the table was the Tiger Roll, and it looks like a tiger's eye, so that is a fun play. We also tried the salmon crudo, peppered ahi tuna, sea bass, sweet shrimp, and the garlic shrimp; the garlic shrimp was the favorite of the two. We also tried the Chicken Karage, bc who isn't going to try the fried chicken! Then there was the Miso Beef Belly, Octopus Crudo, Seared Scallop, Truffle Salmon (Yum), Mackeral, Blue Fin Tuna, Seabass, Salmon belly (YUM), Spicy Salmon Handroll (one of the best I've had), Volcano roll (not my favorite item of the day, had a very particular taste that I didn't care for), Japanese Sausage (great snap/bite to the sausage, not spicy at all), Wagyu (would've like it with more of a sear, was a little underwhelming from some others I've had), Yellow tail, Hamachi Kama, and toro. We definitely came to eat, and I can tell you the place is great if you aren't sure what you like and want to try a bit of everything. We ordered in waves, because you gotta eat what you order, or there could be additional costs. I lot of the items we did not rice on, which is I recommend, so you don't fill up too quickly. The service was great all around, all the servers were actively helping to bus tables with empty plates, and Leilani was great at ensuring we were well fed!! Would definitely go back!

First time here and we came in a bit late. Service was amazing and our server Hong was particularly welcoming and knowledgeable on menu items. The manager was also extremely accommodating and overall we had a great dining experience. Restaurant was clean and spacious and fish quality was good. We ordered many things off the menu pictured below, and everything tasted amazing. We would definitely dine here again!

AYCE is certainly a battle in Houston and more and more keep popping up. Still in their soft opening with a consistent menu for both lunch and dinner, Seven Sushi and Robata just might be my new favorite. Went with my family for a late lunch on a weekday, so was seated right away. Had fun kpop music playing in the background and it was fairly empty, although I suspect it'll get busier soon! Service was quick and friendly. We opted for the $57 option, which offered more fancier dishes. You're only allowed two of the otoro and sweet shrimp per person before you have to pay extra, so we got our two and then went ham on the other amazing unlimited options, including salmon belly, bluefin tuna, etc. They had some really great salmon crudos, some unique rolls, and a limited but good set of hot foods and non-sushi options. The miso beef belly and galbi were fantastic and the Brussels sprouts were well seasoned. The cuts are a good size, not too big but not too small, so you can enjoy a lot of different variety if you desire. I really enjoyed it! Even my parents who are notoriously picky eaters, really liked it. Will need to be back!

Nice experience with the food and the service. Lunch was not packed and the food kept coming. Nice bright upbeat atmosphere. The only problem was trying to find parking. It's always packed at this shopping center. Other than that 2 thumbs up.

If you're into AYCE sushi this is the place for you. They're a little different they have $37 and a $57 option which includes k bbq and some other items. The whole table must choose the same option. The $57 option was not worth it in my opinion. You also order the food from the server you don't get a paper or pencil. They don't really have a dessert menu and the only thing they had available was mochi ice cream. They also serve like 9 rolls for the specialty maki rolls. The place looked clean and simple. The servers weren't too attentive as we waited for our check for a little bit. We also had a hair in our Korean bbq short ribs. They did apologize and made up for it by giving us some more toro. At this point we were already full anyways. Best item was The boss special roll- it had some crunch from the roe on top. Had lots of flavor with i believe it was eel sauce? Tiger roll- lots of cream cheese and a thick roll. Shrimp nigiri- I was not a fan at all. It was slimy and flavorless. You literally felt like you were just eating a raw shrimp but a cold slimy textured one. Toro- this is like two per person which I don't know why because it wasn't great. The presentation was cute with the shrimp but other than that I don't see why it is limited. Truffle salmon sashimi- too heavy on the truffle flavor. I don't feel like it balanced well with the salmon. OMG roll- drenched in ponzu sauce so it did have flavor. But, nothing wowed me about it.

So we had this on a list of places to try, and decided to meet up and knock it off our list. If you have been to Bellaire, you know that this particular area is crowded every night. Parking is always a beast, so best of luck to you. But we ended up on the parking lot, third floor. They do have a timer, so make sure you don't go in until your whole party is available. We had a four person party, and we were sat pretty quickly. Menu wise they have two different ayce menus. A lower tier that has most things in a higher tier that has a few more things, that we personally think are worth it. There are limits to the Bluefin Tuna, Sea Bass, Salmon Belly, Sweet Shrimp, and Bluefin Toro. So obviously, we highly suggest that you order your limit of all of those things first. I will say I was not a big fan of the sweet shrimp. I would do without that next time. Everything else was bomb. The octopus was very fresh and tasty and we had two orders of that, all of the crudos were fantastic. The mackerel was interesting, I hadn't had it prepared that way before with the skin on. It was by far the fishiest item on the menu, but was still pretty tasty. And the galby and cajun shrimp and the beef belly were the best sizzle plates we had. The pepper tuna was very tasty, but you know your boy loves his raw salmon overall. That salmon belly killed, and I ordered enough salmon to make my monies worth three times over. The spicy salmon hand roll was also really good. In addition to our servers, they have a robot going around delivering food. If you're not paying attention, it might be sitting behind you for a while, very quietly. Keep an eye out, or you might be waiting a bit to get your food. Everything comes out pretty quick, and the service was fantastic. We would definitely go back for another round.

Found my way here through social media. I love a quality AYCE sushi spot and happen to have a group of friends that love it too. This place is fairly new but around long enough to have worked out all the kinks. It is located in the popular Dun Huang Shopping Plaza facing Bellaire. If you come on a weekend at night, expect the whole area to be busy. They do not take reservations, but the restaurant is pretty large. The restaurant itself is very nice and modern. I arrived before my dining companions and they said they could seat us, but the time would start right then. We decided to wait it out till our whole party was there so we can take advantage of the whole two hour seating limit. Once we were ready, we were immediately seated and introduced to Leilani. Her customer service was outstanding from start to finish. She gave excellent recommendations and set us up to truly enjoy our experience here. On to the food. It's an AYCE joint, but you can also do a la carte. The all you can eat option comes in two tiers. 37 dollars or 57 dollars. Everyone at the table must pick the same tier. We decided on the 57 dollar option because there were items on there that we wanted. Keep in mind, some of the items on the premium pricing have limits. With that being said, we decided to get the limit on all the premium items. We started off strong with items like galbi, ribeye steak, two different types of shrimp, hamachi kama, and their whole gauntlet of premium sashimi like bluefin tuna, sea bass, salmon belly, toro and wagyu beef sushi. Even though there was a limit, I felt like I got my money's worth for the extra 20 dollar price hike. On top of all that, we tried 2 or 3 rolls, appetizers, fried rice, different crudos and other sashimi. I saw people saying to skip on the hand rolls because it's a filler, but the spicy salmon hand roll was phenomenal. I even decided to have a little strawberry mochi to cleanse the palette at the end of the meal. I really enjoyed almost all aspects of the meal minus a miss on one of the rolls. Overall, Seven Sushi & Robata has made it's way to one of my favorite AYCE options in the city. I will most definitely be back when the craving hits again.

We have been back a couple of times now .. service has good and food comes to us pretty quick. I was able to try some new items that we did not order the first time we came was the Skewers which was our least favorite .. it was tough and no flavor, Wagyu fried rice, and some signature rolls - Boss Special was good but it was overly sweet because it had too much sauce all around and Rainbow Roll was good. Our Faves or go to order: -Shrimp Tempura -Spicy Salmon / Spicy Tuna Taco Handroll -Miso Belly -Blackened Ahi Pepper Tuna (appetizer) -Salmon Crudo (appetizer) -Truffle Salmon (appetizer) -Toro, Wagyu , and Sweet Shrimp sushi Least Favorite: Chicken Heart, Skin, Wing Skewers I can't wait to try some more items since there is still alot on the menu we have not tried

It was nice that they had "fancier" cuts of fish (Toro, Salmon Belly, Sweet Shrimp, etc) for AYCE but the fish was just alright. Honestly enjoyed eating the sides dishes more (LA Galbi, Miso Beef Belly) than the sushi itself. Rolls were ehh. I didn't like any of them. Hand roll selection was also very limited and the seaweed was very soft. Ambiance and vibes were nice. I enjoyed it. Service was also good. Waiter was very attentive and checked in often.

Went for lunch and were the first ones there. They are still in soft opening but running very smoothly. Service was very attentive and dishes came out quickly. We opted for the $37 AYCE (higher level is $57), good value for variety and quality. Our server Trey and a couple managers checked on us often. By the time we left it was pretty busy. Sleeper hits - agedashi tofu and takoyaki Overall sashimi was good except the shrimp which was super overcooked and dry. Inconsistent cooking on the chicken part skewers. Some good, some over, some under. Mochi ice cream is an extra charge. Typical Dunhuang parking.

Two my friends and I came here for Christmas dinner. This is all I can eat with the basic price at $37 and the premium of $57. The drinks are not included. Of the drinks, we had tiny dancer, purple rain, and geisha 101. Our waitress said that Thai dance was really sweet, but it's not it tasted like cough medicine to me. The other two was really good. The purple rain was a slow drink type so I was able to tie that throughout my whole meal. What I would re-order: beef belly (3) with Waygu fried rice (2), salmon (lost count), shrimps tempuras. There were a few others, I ordered that only once but honestly, it was a treat. A few of the skewers, but don't get the chicken skin. It's not as crispy as I would like it to be. Udon soup, it's like a kids size bowl that's the size of the palm of a hand. I would not order: Tuna (something was off) Chicken skin (very squishy. Not crispy at all) Yellowtail (bit sour?) Fried chicken What to keep in mind: Every time your waitress comes by, make sure to double check on what's pending and what's been delivered . We had a situation where we had a second order of something we only asked for one order and we were missing four orders. But that was OK because by that time we were so stuffed and struggling to finish our food. There is a penalty if you don't finish all your food so don't overorder . Our waitress really, really amazing, but our hostess was kind of off and some of the other waitresses I was helping our waitress was kinda off too . Our hostess didn't give us enough menus, and the other waitresses were more in a rush, which makes us because it was Christmas evening. The decor was minimalistic and there's free parking out front but because it was Christmas Day we actually parked on the rooftop on one of the garage is nearby . The garage is also free parking.

I got the pan daiquiri as my drink to start and my friend got the herbed lavender lemonade. For food we shared the hamachi crudo, the chutoro nigri, the kanpachi nigiri, the A5 tartare, the kani handroll, The kinoko yasaimono, and the hot scallop dish to share. The pan daiquiri was SO good. The smokiness from the mezcal hits you first and then the sweet and creamy after taste takes over. It was so well mixed and I would highly recommend trying this if you are a mezcal lover like me. (9/10) The herbed lavender lemonade was too tangy and sweet for my liking. The lavender flavor get lost in the drink. It tasted like a typical lemonade, nothing special. (5/10) The hamachi crudo was so fresh and I really enjoyed the sweet and tangy broth. I'm not sure I would call it tom kha broth but it tasted good regardless and paired well with the tomatoes. (7.5/10) The chutoro nigiri was SO buttery and melt in your mouth delicious. I would definitely get this again. (8.8/10) The kanpachi nigiri was fresh and I enjoyed the sauce paired with it. It was my first time trying amberjack and I liked it. (7/10) The A5 tartare was super unique and well seasoned. There was plenty of tartare compared to the amount of milk bread you are given to eat it with. The uni, caviar, pate and waygu all mixed together was a decadent combination full of flavor. My only note was the contrast in temperatures that I did not love, the tartare came cold while the milk bread was warm. Overall, a very luxurious and tasty dish. (8/10) The kani handroll surpassed my expectations. Typically I don't go for crab first, but I did enjoy the flavors paired with the crab and the hand roll was well filled. (7.8/10) The kinoko roll (king trumpet mushroom roll) really surprised me. I was weary about getting this roll because I normally don't opt for vegan options, but this king mushroom was so well prepared and the sauce was so delicious that dare I say that I enjoyed this more than some of the fish/meat sushi rolls I've had in the past. (8/10) The hot scallop dish was one of the best bites of the night. The scallop was perfectly charred and cooked and the creamy polenta base with the umami salmon roe, with the fried red cabbage to add texture was amazing. I would definitely order this again. (9/10) Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Aiko and the food surpassed my expectations. I loved everything I tried and do want to come back to try more. The service was quick and helpful with the menu. Parking can be a bit tricky, but there are some free street parking spots around the plaza. The ambiance is definitely upscale and classy. It's a great place for a date! My only complaint was that I made a reservation for 2 at least a week in advance and upon arrival, though they had plenty of open tables, we were seated at the opposite end of a table that was already occupied. We were close enough to hear their entire conversation throughout dinner, and I just thought it was an odd experience because that had never happened to me before. Though it did not hinder me from enjoying the food I would have preferred to be seated at our own table.

I thought Aiko delivered a really memorable meal. For context, Aiko is part of the same group as Doko (their sushi omakase concept) and Handies Douzo (their handroll-focused restaurant), and you can definitely see the overlap in technique and flavor profiles across the restaurants. We went for the Valentine's omakase menu. The meal started with the Oyster Duo. One had a yuzu granita and aguachile that was bright and refreshing, while the other had a roasted onion soubise with smoked trout roe that leaned richer and more savory. Nice contrast between the two. One of my favorite early dishes was the chilled zaru soba. The buckwheat noodles had a great chewy texture and the mentsuyu broth was light and refreshing with mirin, mushroom, and seaweed notes. It was a really nice palate reset. The smoked ocean trout sashimi (masu) was another standout. It had garlic aioli on top with oil and black pepper, and the tomato added a crunchy brightness that balanced the richness of the fish. It's a simple combination but worked surprisingly well. The temaki course was excellent. The snow crab handroll had this creamy mayo texture with chili and crunchy shallots, and you can tell they roast the seaweed sheets right before serving because the nori had an incredible crunch -- honestly some of the best texture I've had in a handroll. It reminded me a lot of the style they do at Handies. For the hirame crudo with pomegranate and shiso, the flavor was good but a bit more subtle. I think the pistachio really helps that dish; without enough of it the flavors felt a little muted. I know pomegranate and pistachio is a common flavor pairing for middle eastern cuisines. My partner has a tree nut allergy so they removed it for both of us. The wagyu fat rice was very indulgent. The first thing you taste is the wagyu fat, but the fried shallots and other crunchy elements help balance it out. The sauce reminded me a lot of something you'd get at Doko -- rich but very satisfying. Adding fried rice in between fish courses was an interesting choice from the chef, but I think Aiko aims to be more western fusion than a traditional Japanese omakase. The tuna trio was fantastic. The chutoro with negidare (garlic, sesame oil, scallion) was probably my favorite bite of the night -- super flavorful and perfectly balanced. The foie gras course leaned sweet and savory, almost like an eel sauce flavor with some crunch on top. Delicious, but by this point in the progression I was definitely feeling the richness of the meal. Dessert was a milk tea tiramisu that I thought was really interesting. The mascarpone layer had a tartness to it -- almost like there might be a little sour cream mixed in -- and one layer had a subtle salty note that balanced the sweetness. Overall, the food quality was excellent and the fish was clearly very fresh. My only minor critique is that the progression of courses skewed a bit rich for my personal preference, especially in the second half of the meal. That said, every dish was thoughtfully executed and there were some truly standout bites. If you enjoy creative omakase with some richer flavor profiles, Aiko is definitely worth trying.

There's seating outdoors, inside at the sushi bar, tables, and more seating upstairs. I noticed…read morethat they used machines to give proportionate amount of rice for the nigiri and rolls. This is nice to have consistent amounts of rice for each dish. I do wonder if this would make service slow or not because it did take awhile to get our food. There were a lot of to go orders and the way they package the items looked top tier. I did see they had a reasonable price for omakase for 2 ($95). This alone I think is worth trying this place out. However, I was not hungry enough for their omakase. I don't know if the machine played a roll in it but the seaweed was a bit soft and got stuck onto the dish. This made the quality of the rolls disappointing. The fish tasted fresh but I think the flavors and ingredients overpowered the fish. I would have liked ingredients that would elevate the fish and make it stand out as the highlight of the rolls. However, I thought they did a good job with presentation in each dish. I tried the rainbow row and that was a bit hard to eat because the seaweed got stuck onto the wooden board. I also thought the menu didn't reflect all of the ingredients that were inside of the rolls. They list the main stuff but not everything else. For example, I noticed that there was asparagus inside of the rainbow row but it isn't listed. For that reason I'd give it 3 stars. I wouldn't order this again. The next item I tried was the yuzu kissed and this was my favorite out of everything I've tried. I do think that it was missing something that would balance out the citrusy flavor but nevertheless it was still tasty as long as you don't douse the fish in the sauce, 5 stars. I also tried the Wagyu pitchfork and I think something that would've made this taste better would be a sauce maybe like an eel sauce. This would also get 3 stars for me. The spicy tuna roll was 3 stars for me and it was more so of the texture of the tuna. The tuna felt like it was stuffed in the roll and was like a soggy texture. Some of the tuna fell out as I was eating it and it also made the seaweed wrap around it a bit moist. I think if you go here you definitely should get the sashimi that way you could actually taste the quality of the fish. I tried the medium tuna and fatty and these were actually what I would expect from a place like this. The quality was there but the other items didn't hit the mark for me. The other item I tried was the Japanese scallop and the scallop was tasty and had that smooth buttery texture. The seaweed again kind of ruined the scallop for me. It felt like the scallop was shoved into the roll and was all soft and squishy when I picked it up.

At Katami, the flavors arrive like fragments of memory before they become a whole sentence. This is…read morethe strange pleasure (and occasional frustration) of fine dining when you cook enough yourself to recognize the building blocks. You spend half the meal trying to identify each note before the dish moves past analysis and settles into feeling. The shrimp toast came first, and it read almost plainly at first bite: cultured tang from crème fraîche, sweet fruit, the faint richness of butter soaking into impossibly thin milk bread. A small herb scattered on top sharpened everything just enough. Then the caviar arrived not as luxury punctuation but as structure, binding the sourness and sweetness into something quieter and more deliberate. At home, these flavors would sit beside one another. Here, they dissolved into each other. Several dishes moved unmistakably toward Vietnamese flavors without ever becoming literal reproductions. The branzino tempura carried the familiar push and pull of nước mắm and sugar, maybe shrimp paste somewhere underneath, though softened into something more restrained. A brown sauce alongside it tasted almost startlingly recognizable: peanut butter, grainy sugar, the kind of sweet-savory depth that recalls satay sauce made in a home kitchen. The flavors are not hidden exactly, but compressed. In home cooking, especially in Southeast Asian food, flavor often announces itself clearly: fish sauce is fish sauce, herbs remain bright and separate, sugar lands directly on the palate. At Katami, those same references are blurred at the edges. Sometimes the dishes communicated more through texture than taste. The rockfish, paired with yuzu kosho, had a peppery structure that lingered longer than the citrus itself. The sakura salmon tasted like a spring time promenade, cherry blossom petals scattering in the bright, breezy sky. Overall, I recommend this sushi spot for a contemporary perspective on fine dining sushi. I was surprised to see other cuisines blended in compared to restaurants that are distinctly Japanese. Katami focuses on a story with each individual course, instead of all the plates flowing together. Each dish has a start and finish, it felt like reading a book compiled of mini poems!

The fish quality is solid, which is expected given that this restaurant is priced higher than most sushi spots. That said, the dishes felt a bit one-dimensional. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out or felt memorable. It seemed like the menu played things too safe, and we never had a moment where we thought, "this is what makes this place special." One disappointing moment was with a food runner. My sister has a severe shellfish allergy, and when she called him back--just once--to double-check potential contamination, he rolled his eyes before responding. That reaction was pretty surprising and not appropriate, especially given the seriousness of food allergies. Overall, the sushi is decent and the fish quality is good, but it didn't leave a lasting impression.

It's always a reliable place to go to and can serve as a quick bite when I'm indecisive on where to eat. That being said, it gets pretty busy during dinner time, so I'd recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

From the specials menu, we started with the spicy garlic coconut milk mussels made with fresh Prince Edward Island/British Columbia mussels in a rich spicy garlic coconut cream sauce, topped with green onions and served with toasted ciabatta bread. The broth was incredible and packed with flavor. As an appetizer, we ordered the Texas Wagyu Hot Stone Bowl -- the only rice item on the menu at the time -- made with rice, egg, kimchi sauce, tawan mushrooms, sesame, and green onion. It was prepared tableside for us, which made the experience even more fun and interactive. We also tried the Spicy Soy Ramen with braised ground pork, chili oil, soy milk broth, soft boiled egg, wakame, green onion, and micro cilantro. The flavors were rich, comforting, and had the perfect amount of spice. The Nagasaki Champon Ramen was another standout with clams, shrimp, cabbage, pork, onion, ginger, and micro cilantro in a flavorful broth that tasted fresh and authentic.
