It is a brightly lit nail salon, minimal on the glitz, but the employees seemed to have great rapport with the customers. York (tall gentleman) did an absolutely AMAZING job and loosened up my tight back like a pro. He seemed to be very organized and knew what each person coming in was there for. I came here for a quick mani pedi, they notified me when I got there that they were closing soon but would still take me. As soon as I sat in the chair for my pedicure, I was informed that they could no longer accommodate my manicure and that I would have to come back the next day. I stayed to finish my pedicure and the older lady who assisted me rushed to get me out the chair. She burned almost all my toes while filing and rounded my toe nails. Be in mind I requested French fill and I had a nice length. She stated I should've told her earlier and that she was no longer able to do a French. Obviously because i no longer had nails... they were uneven, chipped/rounded. I was so furious, the guy who checked me out charged me the full amount with a five dollar discount and had the audacity to try to give me a card to come back. However, they always seemed to stick me with the new person and my nails would be hit-or-miss. Sometimes after two days, my nails would crack (I get tips). The owner and the owners right hand started to become very annoyed with me because I was going to get my broken nail fixed at some point after almost every set I got. They are unsanitary. They reuse the same instruments without proper cleaning. They lady seriously tried to wipe the tool with the same towel my foot was on when I called her out on it she had an attitude. She switch with a coworker who was just as bad. Sarcastic remarks when she uses the foot file. I watch them and they did not clean the bowls between customers. For my manicure she did not clean my hands or nails. I had to ask to wash my hands. I have come to this nail salon time to time and always have a nice experience. Recently I went later at night (6:30) and wasn't sure if it was too late. The staff was so nice and welcomed me right in. The woman doing my nails didn't rush through (even with me asking for a pedicure and manicure). They really take their time and make sure you feel pampered and comfortable. Based on this recent experience, I can say that they now have another loyal customer. There are other nail salons in the area that might seem newer but they don't hold a candle to this salon as far as customer service. This place is always clean and offers great prices as well! Been here a few times now. Their pedicures are great! They do a nice job on manicures as well but I like ombré gel nails and they can't seem to get it right with the colors. First of all, only one woman can do ombré nails so they pass me off the her each time. The first time I asked for a French ombré and they nailed it! I next wanted an orange ombré but the colors they insisted I used was more of a pink and peach. It was still pretty so I kept it but not what I had originally wanted. Lastly I requested a dark blue to light blue ombré my last appointment and was disappointed again due to the fact it basically looks more like black to white. I will post pictures of what I showed them I wanted and what I got. They can do ombré but the colors are not their strong suit. I would rate them at 3.5 stars. read more

One of the worse pedicure experiences I have had. Very cheap products are used, you pay to have your feet soaked in water so their system is surreptitiously designed to force an upsell for a proper soak that should be included in any basic pedicure package, and your feet are handled in an uncomfortably tender manner. Now, unless you are someone with incredibly baby soft feet, a tickle-like pedicure is ineffective and such applied pressure is rather annoying than relaxing. I was hesistant to be serviced upon arrival and wish I listened to my inner voice telling me to walk away once I took a quick look at the staff. Unfortunately, I stayed and was beyond disappointed. I will continue to travel to NYC for a more expensive yet exceptional service receieved from start to finish. Don't waste your time or money on this place. read more

The regular polish lasts me two weeks or longer...I just go for the special pedicure . I have been going to Seven for a couple of years now. My husband gets me gift certificates at Christmas. Overall, I have been satisfied with my mani/pedis but have had issues with appointments. I went last week for a mani/pedi. When I gave them my gift certificate which expired at the end of the year, I was told that it was no longer good. I didn't understand why and then she told me they had new owners and wouldn't honor it. I did not know about the new owners as I had a family illness this year and was out of town quite a bit. I also had another certificate that expired at the end of the year and she wouldn't accept that one either. Needless to say, I was not happy. I will not be going back there and have told several of my friends and they won't be going either. Is it worth losing customers over a couple of gift certificates? This would be my second time in this establishment and most definitely my last. I asked for powder nails, I already had powder on so i knew i was going to be there for long time due to the soaking process. Once my finger nails were soaking for a good 5 minutes, i had this technician start removing the foil, which was odd only because i know for a fact that they have to be soaking for at LEAST 12-15 minutes. Whatever i bypass that, she proceed to file the "powder" off, then she switch to the machine. I had to stop her as soon as she started using the machine because she was too rough on one of my nails causing a burn painful sensation to occur. Fast forward to the actual dipping into powder part, she layered and layered that powder so thickly that my nails looked like bulk of paint just landed on them. I didn't say anything yet about them, only because i was going to wait till she filed them and maybe then fix the bulkiness with the filer or machine. But to my surprise, she did a couple of stroke here and there with the machine and was about start to applying the lotion till i stop her dead in her track, and told her my nails did not look natural and they were too bulky. So then now she uses the filer to try to "fix" the unevenness of the nails. When she seemed it was done to her satisfaction, she stops and looks at me and says "here"...i sighed, and told her they were still too thick and not natural looking. Then another technician had come to fix the mess she had done to my nails. Without exaggerating, i was there for another 30 minutes... filing and filing and using that machine to take off all that excessive powder that was on. He was done, they looked natural and layered down evenly. I did not know any of those workers name because they don't have name tags so i couldn't tell you who was who. I just hope u consider this review if you take your money and nails as seriously as me. read more

This is my favorite nail salon in the New Canaan & Norwalk area. I moved three years ago & I've probably tried ten different ones during that time. The owner Karen is meticulous, giving me very natural looking acrylic nails. Nothing else is strong enough to help my nails grow, but acrylics are often too thick & not shaped well. I totally relax while Karen does my nails because she is such a perfectionist. To Donna G who wrote the review below, if a new restaurant opened in the same spot as one where you got a gift certificate to the former one would you expect them to honor the one to the former, different restaurant? No. Just because they both sell food you wouldn't expect to go into the new restaurant & have your gift certificate honored! Your beef should be with the owners of the old salon who took your money & never told anyone they were closing! Why should the new owners do your nails for free? You shouldn't give these people a bad review just because they won't give you something for free! And Melissa R, the owner is a woman, NOT a man! The people at this salon are very friendly when you enter. They are not sitting there unapproachable, too busy to greet you as many salons seen to be! I was very disappointed with management. Our mom passed in July. My sister and I decided to get our nails done, using mom's remaining 2 gift certificates at Seven Nails. It would be like she was with us - she loved her manis. As soon as we took out the certificates we were abruptly told we couldn't use them because Seven was under new management and they stopped accepting them 3 months earlier. Needless to say I was stunned. Not only because of the woman's attitude, but also because in CT gift certificates can't have an expiration date. FYI these were less than a year old. My sister said ok and we stayed. I was too shocked to argue. So essentially, Seven Nails received payment for the 2 certificates but NO services were rendered. Pretty shady, in my opinion. I will never go to Seven Nails for any sevice again, nor will I buy anyone a gift certificate to Seven Nails. Their customer service needs a complete overhaul. It's a shame, because the previous owner and staff were a great group of people who treated my mom exceptionally. read more
