I have never been to this nail salon before but I decided to go with my friend yesterday since we were on this side of town. The inside of the salon was clean and everyone was friendly. We both got gel manicures and they had a ton of colors, which i lovedd! I hate when you go to a nail salon with a small color selection. The gel manicures there were only 25 dollars which was great because some places charge 30. All my nails came out looking really good, no lumps or missed places. We did not have to wait to be taken either there was enough people working to seat us both right away. I think I will go back when I want my nails done again! I am not the easiest customer as someone who suffers from anxiety and is a nail biter as a result of that but they always welcome me kindly and do such a good job on my nails. They are patient and the salon is clean and the prices are decent. read more

Update: I've had two of my nails chip badly. Randomly. Without any pressure applied. I wash my dishes with gloves on and I'm cautious to not have them break. While they are complimentary thin, I'll be going back to my liquid gel. Nothing beats that strength. If you usually use liquid gel, don't let them convince you the powder is better. Really lovely salon! I came in today for the first time and had my acrylics removed and had a gel manicure. The guy who did my nails was so precise and attentive to detail, ensuring my nails were completely cleaned and shaped. The gel was applied so neatly and he even gave a nice hand massage at the end! I came to Rainbow Nails with my friend Kasia, who has been going there for 6 years and loves it! We both got the UV nails. I got a very light peach color and after I was done, the color looked a little patchy because it was so light and didn't cover the nail completely. Cindy, the owner, asked if I liked my nails and when I showed her the patchiness, she fixed it for me perfectly by adding a few more coats. I usually get my nails done in Stamford, but chose to try something closer to home. Well, let just say the are totally unprofessional. I walked in earlier in the day and request an appointment. The girl told me today at 5:30. GREAT! So 5:30 I show up and the owner who looked like he was annoyed that I was there said you need to wait and have a seat. I replied ok. The same young women tell me 5 mins later, that they could not do my nails because she made a mistake when she scheduled me. That is a YOU problem not Mines. I just got up and walked out, but this business is very unprofessional. Not even an offer to do them because it was they're mistake. Who does this??? I got the worst manicure/pedicure I've ever gotten from ANYWHERE from this place about a week ago. Not only do they charge 30 dollars for a mani/pedi and then charge you an EXTRA 10 dollars for a foot/leg massage that is typically included in a pedicure, the paint job was horrific. The second coat didn't even cover my whole nail and it looked sloppy. On top of that the manicure looked so bad that I took off the polish two days later and my nails were stained yellow. No doubt from the cheap base coat they used. Needless to say I will NEVER go back to this place again. read more

Used to go here a lot but no longer happy with the quality of service for the money they charge. I got a powder gel manicure was charged almost $50 and it barely lasted the usual two weeks. In addition, pedicures are meek and they barely scrub your feet unless you pay for the overpriced spa pedicure. Happy I found a new place that does a lot more for a lot less. read more

On a weekend trip here from MD. Really didn't have much time for a mani and pedi. Had a very nice pedicure from one lady but had to wait an additional 30 mins after pedicure was finished to have my gel manicure done from whom I'm thinking is the owner while two other ladies were just sitting at their stations doing nothing! Omg!! 3 freaking hours for a mani & pedi! Unreal!! Unless it's an absolute emergency not coming here again RESPONSE: yes, she did a fabulous job w my nails but next time extend the courtesy of informing your customer it is a 30 min wait and let your customer decide whether they want to wait an addl 30 mins. Don't assume your customers can wait that long. read more

Do not come here for acrylics unless you want painful, damaged nails!! I went to this nail salon to get my old acrylics removed, and get a new set. Instead of soaking my old acrylics in acetone to remove them, they used a credit card like piece of plastic and stuck it between my natural nail and the acrylics and prayed them off of my fingers. I was wincing in pain, and the man removing them apologized that it hurt but then continued taking the other 9 acrylics off in the same exact way. This is a cheap, painful and damaging short cut to remove acrylics, and I was still charged $15 for the removal. The lady who did the new set of acrylics was very sweet and did a good job, except some of the nails were slightly crooked/slightly different shapes, but it isn't too noticeable. But overall, none of it makes up for how my acrylics were removed, and I'm hoping I won't have lasting damage from it. Don't pay for that cheap removal like I did! read more

Used to go to this place all of the time - I refuse to go back. They have slowly decreased the quality of customer service over the last year and a half or so. Charged me extra to remove my gel manicure and didn't even remove it completely off of my nails, just painted over it - didn't even bother clipping my cuticles/cleaning up my nail beds. I wouldn't go anywhere else. It's clean, friendly and the workers there have been doing this, it seems, for their whole lives, and they know what they're doing. I've never gotten a bad manicure or pedicure. I get gel and, once, another shop made me stick my fingers in a bowl of nail polish remover for 20 minutes. I thought I was going to die from intoxication! At Li's Rainbow, they put foil on your fingers. The cleanliness is key though. Very clean. read more
